Only EVERYTHING went wrong and still having issues with the Intoxalock company. From the beginning. Sales person put the wrong state I live in because I stated that at the time of the call I was out of state at the time temperarely caring for an elderly relative for a couple months. Then after I even explained why I had to have a mandatory blow device in the state I live in, they had me documented as "willing" on my own instead of mandatory like I told them in my state. So when I arrived to have the device installed, all the information was wrong as well as them ordering the wrong equipment because of the mistake they made. Then I had only had the device a month or a little less, the device malfunctioned and was broken internally as they put it. The device locked my car down in the middle of nowhere in the woods at night, while I was out of state at a relatives. I had to have it towed twice. Once to my relatives and then to the location the device was installed in my state. Thank god the AAA covered most of the towing but not all. Now here I am over 4-5 months later and I have not been reimbursed for what I spent out of pocket for getting my car to their facility to have the device fixed and my car able to drive. And the reimbursement is not even half of what it would have cost without my triple A coverage. There's a reason this company has such a crappy review rating. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT to use this company!! Do some research in your area for blow device companies and choose 1 with better ratings. If I don't get my reimbursement, I'm HIGHLY considering finding another company even though I'm about 5-6 months into my 1 year mandatory term for having a blow device. Oh and btw, Don't let the intoxalock sales person have you go with 1 of their affiliated insurance companies, get your own. Because I went with Dairyland insurance that is owned by intoxalock. And my original monthly payment was supposed to be on the 16th of the month but ended up being the 13th instead for some reason and I paid 1 day late twice and 2 days late once because I kept forgetting about the date change and they DROPPED ME. I have never had an insurance company drop me for paying a day late a cpl times. They just typically charge a small fee, they don't drop u in less than 24 hours like the intoxalock owned company Dairyland. Beware and read reviews regardless of what company you go with. I made the mistake of looking at the company's own review ratings and not Google ratings etc, they have 1.2 stars ratings on Google and that's very accurate. This company sucks!

They charge you random bogus fees daily. You get this handleheld sleeve that they charge you like 9.99 monthly for and youll probably never use it. Customer service reps are all from india so its likely your being scammed and theyll prob steal your info while your on the phone seeing as people from india are common for scamming. The only time i was able to speak to an English speaking person was when i took the equipment off the car and when i had it installed. Twice. Thats shocking. The Indian people always blame all the issues on your car battery because they have no idea what the device actually does or how it works. Its very expensive. You have to get it calibrated every couple months but thats pretty normal. As long as you drive your car every other day and keep the battery charged you shouldnt have any problems. However this thing drains your battery even when the car isnt running and it really drains the battery. Its very easy to use but i dont trust the customer service reps at all with my information. Dont give them anything you dont have to. If they ask you for your social thats an issue. And its happened.

These people are thieves and liars.. I wish I could leave them less than one star.. after I got to my eligibility date they would not give me a letter of compliance.. until they said I had 60 days with known fraction.. these units will blow false positives and say that you missed retest frequently in fact they make up reasons to recalibrate them when your bill is overdue.. this company is a bunch of thieves and liars run away.. it's been 19 months since I've got this installed for a one-year suspension and I am still paying for it biweekly because they will not send the letter to authorize the removal

On February 20th I arrived at my house in my Tahoe that is equiped with an Intoxalock interlock device. I've had this equipment installed in my vehicle for 1 year and 3 months. I was only supposed to have it for 1 year but in August of 2023 I was called out of town on short notice only to arrive back into town on the last day left to have the device "calibrated". My service center closes at 5PM so I rushed there only to find that they had closed early. I arrived at 4:45PM. After a missed calibration you can't start so on the next day I loaded it onto a flatbed and had it towed to get calibrated. This earned me a 3 month extension. Ok, back to the 20th. Arrived at my house at 6:03PM and turned off the vehicle. I changed the wiper blades and went to hook up the trickle charger. I've never had battery problems before this device was installed but have had to replace 2 since then and now my current battery is on its last legs. I wanted to see if I could start the car after it had just been running so I engaged the handheld, blew zeros, and attempted to start. It clicked but failed to start. A couple more attempts were made with my jump pack but still wouln't start so I hooked up the charger and went inside my house for the evening. The next morning I went to start the car only to be greeted with a violation message. I thought this must be a mistake. I had just gotten it calibrated ($35) so I call intoxalock who informed me that their system had logged a misseed "rolling retest" or random retest. This is the test that occures after you start the vehicle and it randomly asks you for a sample to see if you are drinking while driving. According to their website (check their knowledge center) this is defined as: "A random (also known as random) retest requires drivers to provide breath samples while the vehicle is running. They’re required with all state-certified ignition interlock devices." I explained that there must have been some kind of mistake. I wouldn't miss a retest, I know exactly how this thing works and wouldn't risk missing one this close to my 180 compliance. They told me what time it happened. It was exactly when I was trying to jump the car. I explained the situation and that the car was never on. I'm not going to expect a random test if it's not even running unless I've just turned it off at the same time it asked for one. I have spoken to multiple reps pleading to have this violation removed as this is not something covered in their own handbook and website. They refuse to budge and tell me I must start my 6 months all over again. I've contacted the licensing department who tell me they only go by what the company tells them and intoxalock tells me only the licensing department can make that decision. I'm at a total loss. I do ok with my income but I can not imagine how most people could absorb this kind of finacial impact. 6 days left and they hit me with a violation that will cause me to have this in my vahicle for almost two years if nothing else goes wrong. I've contacted the state police to see if they are willing to help as they are the regulating authority. I have video (with sound) of the time I arrived home to the time I went inside my home that shows that I was unable to get my car to start back up once I arrived. I also took a video from inside the vehicle today which shows how the system will fail to acknowledge the vehicle being off with the keys out and still trigger a rolling retest. I will write a new review every day for each additional day I have this device installed. If you are reading this review and are finding yourself in a similar situation. I encourage you to write your own review here on Trustpilot to warn others about choosing Intoxalock. You do have a choice. Anyway, I have a date with small claims court. Watch your backs and your wallet. Do not choose Intoxalock. P.S. There is no way in hell they get 5 star reviews. I'd bet money that the Indian call center they use for their customer service is also paid to write those which goes against this websites terms of service.

Intoxalock is a joke! I would highly recommend anyone and everyone that is advised to use this company to most certainly not! Their customer service is extremely poor. And they can’t seem to get my device hooked up properly and I’m having trouble with it on a weekly basis. Constantly having to bring it to the service center to have them check their wiring. I was even stranded one time with my young children in the vehicle and I called Intoxalock and they told me to call a tow truck and unfortunately I was going to have to pay for it myself! What is this? After talking with a supervisor she told me that I now have to take my car to a dealer and have them run a diagnostic test on it!

The company adds hidden fees. Put wrong date on my contract and won’t change the date after I was stuck with the device. The hidden fees is what bothers me is bait and switch sales tactics. I am a single parent this is wrong. Now my battery is having issues while I am sure they won’t cover with their fault devices 1 hour hold times and refuse to fix contract.

Per email i was told by intoxalock to bring the device inside. This caused me two violations and extra time and money. That is a scam by this company to keep you in this program and make them more money.

They charge you $80 randomly saying that maybe the battery went out or your hand held became disconnected. Whatever it is, it's just an $80 Additional charge that makes no sense. Stay away from this company!!!! They will give you additional charges with no explanation or proof at all, and their answer is well. You don't have to drive!!. And remember you can have removed after you've installed it. But it's an additional $600.00

Do not use Intoxalock ! This company has no idea what they are doing! Arranged to have system placed on the car , had to wait several weeks . When we finally got the appt , the car was rendered inoperable, and had to be towed to a dealer . Very poor customer service , after being told we would not be charged, the company continued to charge my account , even though the system was ever put on the car! Go to Smart Start , this is a very well run operation, they are part of the court system . Dropped the car off , 2 hrs later it was done , excellent instructions were given on how to use the system . I hope someone reads this review before they go to intoxalock !

This company is a SCAM TWICE now my device has told me that i unplugged my device (when I did NOT). And they then charged me $90. Your only option to fight it is to have a technician inspect the device (which costs you $150 of your OWN money). If they find nothing wrong with the device? You are out not only the $150 but also the $90. Should the device be defective? It’s not like you get your $90 waived and you’re good to go. No… you have to return to the shop when the new device arrives. Pay an additional $125 Installation fee… again out of your OWN money…. And the worse part is Intoxalox doesn’t reimburse your bank account. They simply credit your effing account. I know because I challenged it the first time. And just last week the new device gave the same error! I don’t have $275 to pay upfront so it’s almost easier to pay the $90 even tho I NEVER UNPLUGGED THE DEVICE I HATE THIS COMPANY

I would go with less than 1 star on this company. I completely agree with all the reviews below! I had this installed for less than a week before I removed and replaced with a different provider. Prior to installation, I was lied to over the phone about how the device works, the size of it & cost. This device is absolutely awful to use when driving & it's unbelievable that DMV's would even allow it. We can't text, or use a phone in most states while driving, but this is allowed. Unbelievable! They will take as much money as possible too, absolutely go with a different supplier!!!

Absolute nightmare. Avoid this company at all cost. The device drained two batteries, which they do not cover. The fees are ridiculous and good luck if you miss a calibration. Worst experience I’ve ever had.
