First, they sent referred to a place that couldn’t install on my vehicle…thrived a second place who explained the problem of installing on my vehicle, so still not done! Decided to buy a new vehicle, but conferred with second installer that brand would be workable, which is was. However, this unit is TERRIBLY, burdensome! The blow unit is large, and with small hands difficult to hold. Wires rub against legs when driving and are difficult to put anywhere. THEN, the unit requires a 3 stage blow, which is NOT easy! I am 80, and afraid to go much past my driveway for fear I’ll be blocked out of a retest! Go with a different company!

Instillation was easy. Intoxalock is not helpful, nor does their customer service have any knowledge base around your case even after reading case notes. They are unable to tell you anything including final calibrations if needed or reporting details. They continue to unnecessarily charge customers fees, no violations or missed calibrations the lease expired over 30 days ago and we are still being charged because they will not do what is needed so the device can be removed. They are extremely negligent to their customers . This is a sorry, company and I would not recommend them to an anyone for any reason ever my advice steer clear. If you were needing an interlock service, do not use Intoxalock. They are all about trying to keep the device on your vehicle so they can keep charging you.

Intoxalock is the worst interlock device IID on the market. The device will destroy the electronics on your vehicle, resulting in costly lockouts, tow bills, and extend your time with your interlock mandate. This is done intentionally to generate revenue. Companies like SmartStart and life safer seem to have a good feedback from current and former customers. Stay far away from Intoxalock.

Absolutely the worse ! Stay clear. I have COPD and after months of getting clearance from both the State and Intoxalock unit was finally approved to be adjusted. Initially before installation I asked if the lower volume would work for me and my existing condition. I was assured it would as they had “several COPD patients, Asthmatic clients and chronic lung disease drivers it worked well for”. Well guess what, it didn’t and in all honesty after over 2 hours at the garage, the unit operates the same. It does not work for me. It’s a horrible unit. My girlfriend has no issue with her lungs and yet can get the unit to work as it temporarily sees fit. The most serious issues are the retests that occur periodically and if you miss them an extra 30 days is added to your sentence. Simply because the unit works indiscriminately. Shop around ! I was Ted to share this and save someone else my aggravation.

I've been trying to get updated into a lock in my vehicle for several months. Every time I needed recalibrate. Set up at least 3 appointments with my service center never showed. Now under 2 months left until I get it out my truck is in a lock out until it's put in. I'm being punished for there incompetents and it's completely ridiculous. Now it's almost over they need to cover there ass with the state? It's a legal way for the scammers to take your money and the state backs it !

DO NOT USE INTOXALOCK! THE REVIEWS SAYS IT ALL they are the worst you can get. They put my wrong vin number in which costed a week longer in getting my license back. I got locked out for no reason while driving down the road, car just shut down and had to wait few minutes to start back up. They never answer their phone . Always get directed to answering machine where you can't speak to anyone. I couldn't even get into my account online due to their wrong information they entered. Do not use them

You people had me come 2 hrs away from my home, at 830 in the morning. You never mentioned they don't even open till 9 am, or that I'd need to drop my car off, I've been sitting here since 830ammy car is not even been touched yet, You need to tell people it takes upwards of a full 8 hr day to do this, so we can atheist bring another car and not be stranded a town we know nothing about. BAD BUISNESS!!!!!

I don't drink so I've never flunked the breathalyzer however they sent me an email at the beginning of winter it said that you could remove your device to keep it safe so I did after turning off my car they gave me a lockout because they said I did it while my car was running kind of defeat the purpose right! Then I had my ground wire broke which killed all of the power even though the battery was good and I still charged me $75 for a lockout. So I've had $150 for nothing! I would never recommend this for anybody and had I known it had such bad reviews I would have never gotten the intoxalock myself. Horrible horrible horrible horrible service horrible deplorably horrible!

Device cut out 3 times in the 6 months I had it. I was left without a vehicle for a week all 3 of those times. It caused me to lose hours at work and I called with understandable frustration in the hopes of some kinda reimbursement for the ride shares I had to use for when I couldn’t miss work anymore. This is unacceptable.

Only EVERYTHING went wrong and still having issues with the Intoxalock company. From the beginning. Sales person put the wrong state I live in because I stated that at the time of the call I was out of state at the time temperarely caring for an elderly relative for a couple months. Then after I even explained why I had to have a mandatory blow device in the state I live in, they had me documented as "willing" on my own instead of mandatory like I told them in my state. So when I arrived to have the device installed, all the information was wrong as well as them ordering the wrong equipment because of the mistake they made. Then I had only had the device a month or a little less, the device malfunctioned and was broken internally as they put it. The device locked my car down in the middle of nowhere in the woods at night, while I was out of state at a relatives. I had to have it towed twice. Once to my relatives and then to the location the device was installed in my state. Thank god the AAA covered most of the towing but not all. Now here I am over 4-5 months later and I have not been reimbursed for what I spent out of pocket for getting my car to their facility to have the device fixed and my car able to drive. And the reimbursement is not even half of what it would have cost without my triple A coverage. There's a reason this company has such a crappy review rating. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT to use this company!! Do some research in your area for blow device companies and choose 1 with better ratings. If I don't get my reimbursement, I'm HIGHLY considering finding another company even though I'm about 5-6 months into my 1 year mandatory term for having a blow device. Oh and btw, Don't let the intoxalock sales person have you go with 1 of their affiliated insurance companies, get your own. Because I went with Dairyland insurance that is owned by intoxalock. And my original monthly payment was supposed to be on the 16th of the month but ended up being the 13th instead for some reason and I paid 1 day late twice and 2 days late once because I kept forgetting about the date change and they DROPPED ME. I have never had an insurance company drop me for paying a day late a cpl times. They just typically charge a small fee, they don't drop u in less than 24 hours like the intoxalock owned company Dairyland. Beware and read reviews regardless of what company you go with. I made the mistake of looking at the company's own review ratings and not Google ratings etc, they have 1.2 stars ratings on Google and that's very accurate. This company sucks!

They charge you random bogus fees daily. You get this handleheld sleeve that they charge you like 9.99 monthly for and youll probably never use it. Customer service reps are all from india so its likely your being scammed and theyll prob steal your info while your on the phone seeing as people from india are common for scamming. The only time i was able to speak to an English speaking person was when i took the equipment off the car and when i had it installed. Twice. Thats shocking. The Indian people always blame all the issues on your car battery because they have no idea what the device actually does or how it works. Its very expensive. You have to get it calibrated every couple months but thats pretty normal. As long as you drive your car every other day and keep the battery charged you shouldnt have any problems. However this thing drains your battery even when the car isnt running and it really drains the battery. Its very easy to use but i dont trust the customer service reps at all with my information. Dont give them anything you dont have to. If they ask you for your social thats an issue. And its happened.

These people are thieves and liars.. I wish I could leave them less than one star.. after I got to my eligibility date they would not give me a letter of compliance.. until they said I had 60 days with known fraction.. these units will blow false positives and say that you missed retest frequently in fact they make up reasons to recalibrate them when your bill is overdue.. this company is a bunch of thieves and liars run away.. it's been 19 months since I've got this installed for a one-year suspension and I am still paying for it biweekly because they will not send the letter to authorize the removal

On February 20th I arrived at my house in my Tahoe that is equiped with an Intoxalock interlock device. I've had this equipment installed in my vehicle for 1 year and 3 months. I was only supposed to have it for 1 year but in August of 2023 I was called out of town on short notice only to arrive back into town on the last day left to have the device "calibrated". My service center closes at 5PM so I rushed there only to find that they had closed early. I arrived at 4:45PM. After a missed calibration you can't start so on the next day I loaded it onto a flatbed and had it towed to get calibrated. This earned me a 3 month extension. Ok, back to the 20th. Arrived at my house at 6:03PM and turned off the vehicle. I changed the wiper blades and went to hook up the trickle charger. I've never had battery problems before this device was installed but have had to replace 2 since then and now my current battery is on its last legs. I wanted to see if I could start the car after it had just been running so I engaged the handheld, blew zeros, and attempted to start. It clicked but failed to start. A couple more attempts were made with my jump pack but still wouln't start so I hooked up the charger and went inside my house for the evening. The next morning I went to start the car only to be greeted with a violation message. I thought this must be a mistake. I had just gotten it calibrated ($35) so I call intoxalock who informed me that their system had logged a misseed "rolling retest" or random retest. This is the test that occures after you start the vehicle and it randomly asks you for a sample to see if you are drinking while driving. According to their website (check their knowledge center) this is defined as: "A random (also known as random) retest requires drivers to provide breath samples while the vehicle is running. They’re required with all state-certified ignition interlock devices." I explained that there must have been some kind of mistake. I wouldn't miss a retest, I know exactly how this thing works and wouldn't risk missing one this close to my 180 compliance. They told me what time it happened. It was exactly when I was trying to jump the car. I explained the situation and that the car was never on. I'm not going to expect a random test if it's not even running unless I've just turned it off at the same time it asked for one. I have spoken to multiple reps pleading to have this violation removed as this is not something covered in their own handbook and website. They refuse to budge and tell me I must start my 6 months all over again. I've contacted the licensing department who tell me they only go by what the company tells them and intoxalock tells me only the licensing department can make that decision. I'm at a total loss. I do ok with my income but I can not imagine how most people could absorb this kind of finacial impact. 6 days left and they hit me with a violation that will cause me to have this in my vahicle for almost two years if nothing else goes wrong. I've contacted the state police to see if they are willing to help as they are the regulating authority. I have video (with sound) of the time I arrived home to the time I went inside my home that shows that I was unable to get my car to start back up once I arrived. I also took a video from inside the vehicle today which shows how the system will fail to acknowledge the vehicle being off with the keys out and still trigger a rolling retest. I will write a new review every day for each additional day I have this device installed. If you are reading this review and are finding yourself in a similar situation. I encourage you to write your own review here on Trustpilot to warn others about choosing Intoxalock. You do have a choice. Anyway, I have a date with small claims court. Watch your backs and your wallet. Do not choose Intoxalock. P.S. There is no way in hell they get 5 star reviews. I'd bet money that the Indian call center they use for their customer service is also paid to write those which goes against this websites terms of service.

Intoxalock is a joke! I would highly recommend anyone and everyone that is advised to use this company to most certainly not! Their customer service is extremely poor. And they can’t seem to get my device hooked up properly and I’m having trouble with it on a weekly basis. Constantly having to bring it to the service center to have them check their wiring. I was even stranded one time with my young children in the vehicle and I called Intoxalock and they told me to call a tow truck and unfortunately I was going to have to pay for it myself! What is this? After talking with a supervisor she told me that I now have to take my car to a dealer and have them run a diagnostic test on it!
