“My experience with product support from LAMY Australia has been excellent. I purchased a Lamy Studio pen direct from Germany around 8yrs ago. It has been my favourite everyday pen and I was disappointed when the pen lid started to become very loose. After explaining the issue to LAMY Australia they sent me out a replacement pen! “Ordered a custom Al-Star pen and a set of violet T10 ink cartridges and both came within 5 business days as LAMY themselves said it would. I am writing this from Sydney Australia, however, and I think they made it in Victoria which is a 10 hour drive away. Postage will mostly depend on the local post system. The violet ink is solid purple, and the Al-Star has a nice feel. Fine nib is also very nice as it dries faster than medium nib, which in my opinion, lets out too much ink and takes too long to dry. The inprint is the only questionable aspect about this whole thing - I had mine on the cap and it is not to the quality I thought it would be for being 30% the price of the pen itself. They always give blue ink in the pens.”
“Not what I expected. Very nice ink, but not as ‘smooth’ as the black ink - I can feel more nib scrape. Also, it’s not turquoise. It’s best to describe this colour as a light blue. There is no green tinge to it. Other than these two very minor things, still a lovely ink, as you always get with Lamy.”
“I now have two Safari pens, (medium and fine) they are beautiful to draw with. I use the refillable cartridge filled with indelible ink. A lot better than the scratchy dip pens I have used in the past.
I don't think Lamy recomends using indelible ink but I have not had a problem with it so far.
This means I can put a watercolour wash over my ink drawings without the drawing bleeding.”

“I’ve had several Safari fountain pens over the years and they are a staple in my stationery drawer. When I had hassles with the nibs, after about 4 years, the customer support was exceptional. Better than most new purchase experiences I’ve had. Even if the pens weren’t my favourite, I’d recommend Lamy just for the customer service… a stand out for sure.”
