AVERAGE QUALITY, HIGH PRICES I bought the Pentre Fixed Drawer King Size Bed Frame and am very unhappy with the quality of the product I received. I spent over £500 on this bed, a sum I only contemplated because I believed I was getting a high quality bed that would last years, hopefully decades. Unfortunately, now that I've received the bed, I can see that the high cost is not reflected in the quality of the bed, nor is it a reasonable price compared to buying the same product elsewhere. First issue is the material used - 'made of hardwood' they say. Well, yes, but what they don't say is that the hardwood used is Rubberwood (the cheapest of the hardwoods) - don't be expecting anything resembling the quality of oak or mahogany. They also don't say is that it is only made PARTLY of hardwood, the rest is made up of Pine and MDF. Sneaky really as you may choose one of their products over a product from a retailer who is more upfront about the constituents of the bed. Once you factor in the relative poor quality of the materials used, this no longer appears to represent a good value for money purchase. Second, they claim in red letters that the bed is 'made exclusively for land of beds'. Hmmm, not so. I paid £551 (their sale price!); since purchase I've spotted the identical bed (with identical promotional photos) on Wayfair (for £381), Furniture Choice (for 449.95) and Bed Warehouse Direct (£499.95). So that's three different retailers selling an identical product more cheaply - £170 more cheaply in Wayfair's case. So much for excludisivity. Thirdly, LoB claim to have 'most affordable prices around'. See point 3 and shop around a little bit to see that this claim should be taken with a large pile of salt! Good luck and do your research - a bed is too large of an expense to fall for half truths and a sneaky sales pitch. Voice of bitter experience talking! My recommendation: only order a bed once you've seen it in the flesh or order via Wayfair.
