Hello. I have made dozens of orders from you over the past few years, and every time you send me a mail with the same text: "Before sending your order, we just wanted to make sure that you are aware that once the order gets to Switzerland you might have to pay Swiss Customs charges, as well as any other local taxes, handling fees or charges imposed by local authorities or handling agents. This is of course totally independent from Lehmanns and only applies to certain countries, especially outside the European Union. Are you OK with that?" Each time I have confirmed each time that yes, I do want my order fulfilled. Since a while ago, it is even part of the ordering process - when placing an order I tick the box saying yes, I do want the order fulfilled, and I know that you are not responsible for my customs fees. Why do you send this e-mail every time, to a customer who has already answered many times in the past? It just delays the fulfilment of the order by a good 24 hours or more, because not all customers see and reply to their e-mails immediately. I have complained about this at least twice in the past (26.3.17 and 27.2.18), and you did not even reply to my e-mail. It used to be that when I placed an order with Lehmanns, I would have the books within 3-4 days here in Switzerland (usually without any customs fees, because I make sure to place an order with a value below that for which customs are due). Now it takes so much longer, and this can be very frustrating. It is really not necessary to send this confirmation request each time for a returning customer. Thank you.

Thank you for your valuable feedback. We send out independent emails confirming that the customer is aware of the possibility of being charged extra tax and fees once the order arrives in Switzerland. Whilst in your individual case, you are satisfied with possible extra charges, we have had many customers who had ignored this box at the checkout, were not happy and requested a refund for the extra charges from us. We are not responsible for these charges and therefore not responsible for refunding them. At Lehmanns we strive to keep our customers happy and not surprise them with extra charges. For this reason, we have a blanket rule (with no exceptions) that we send out emails to all Swiss customers confirming that they are aware of possible extra charges. Our experience is that the vast majority of customers respond within a very short time of receiving our email and therefore the delay in despatch is very rare. when i order somthing and u dont have all the item in stock i think u should ask if we still want the order or will wait till everything come in

Thank you for your order and your valuable feedback. Since your order was substantial, you are entitled to FREE SHIPPING. When shipping large orders, we are required to send them by pallet and thus delivery time is longer then parcel shipping. I am sorry that you find it difficult to contact us to get a response. unless you use the exact spelling on your website -you simply cannot find the book/sefer you require/ .eg I put in 'Horayoth' .How I am supposed to know that you require 'Horayos' .All other web sites I use can cope with this. Why can I not simply type in 'Art Scroll Talmud' and then search. Some real basic corrections needed for website

Thank you very much for your valuable feedback. I am sorry that you had issues finding the book/sefer you were looking for using our “search option.” We have spent and continue to spend a huge amount of money and time improving our search functionality so that customers can find what they are looking for with ease. Our research has shown that the issue mainly arises when searching for Hebrew words that are spelt in English. For example,your search term “horayos” can have multiple misspellings eg horayoth, harayoth, horayois, harayois. To have every misspelling available for every search term is a mammoth task but nonetheless one which we are always working towards. Unfortunately our built-in “misspelling” functionality is not as clever as humans and therefore cannot match Hebrew terms written in English! Please be assured that we are constantly working at improving our website and our service to our customers. Either poor stock controls or website not updated (seems to be an ongoing problem). Items ordered and confirmed, then found to be not in stock and then the company just processes the bits it wants to. Bit disappointing when you order items which go together and/or you need them by a certain date. Can not order with confidence.
