Now I have to wait again for them to decide how they are going to handle this...who knows? Service is a disgrace....rather make use of takealot. “Every single time we have ordered books online at Loots we have had major issues - lead times of 5-10 working days turn into a month EVERY SINGLE TIME. No follow up with the customer when there are these sort of delays, not even an automated message to let one know. It is not a once off either - every order we have placed, we wait a month or more for the books to be sent, when we have specifically ordered them timeously for bookclub. If the books are coming from international suppliers and there could be delays, rather give a more realistic lead time (15-20 days for example) to ensure that any delays (which there seem to be ALL THE TIME) are accounted for. Very unimpressed!”
“I ordered and paid for 2 textbooks for my daughter on 23 July. After phoning Loot for the last 2 weeks almost every day and asking Loot to follow up on the delivery date, the supervisor advised that she cannot phone the courier company, only contact them via email . It was received by the courier company 28 July., confirmed by Loot. So wny is it taking so long to be delivered? Today is 14 Aug 2023?”
“Worse than useless. When I ordered the product was listed as "in stock" After nearly 4 weeks and 2 emails advising that the delivery was delayed I was the advised that the supplier was out of stock before my order could be "secured". The they had the audacity to ask me if I would like to back order the product. Also then took nearly a week to get my money back. I will never use loot again. If I could give a zero rating I would but the worst rating here is a 1.”

“Loot itself is not the problem, the incompetent courier service they use is a HUGE problem and the reason I will never buy at Loot again or advise someone to buy by them. I have been struggling 4 days to receive my parcel, no one phones me (not even the driver that has my parcel), I'm on the phone every hour on the hour between Loot and the courier company call center as there is no direct number in my area of residential for the courier service and was informed you can only make contact with the call center. It is not the job of the client to phone around and find out where a parcel is and make arrangements. I am terribly disappointed.”

“Quite literally the worst service I have EVER experienced. I won a Loot voucher at work - I have since escalated the issue and trying to ensure that we NEVER give Loot Vouchers as prizes again - placed an order on the 07th February. It is late for delivery was meant to be dispatched on the 15th February. I have called twice and both times they have no idea what it going on with my order and they promise to get to me which they don't. I'm so glad I didn't pay from my pocket for this sorry excuse of a company.”

“Loot is the perfect name for this company. If you want simplicity of returns, great communication, speedy response times, and accurate information from staff then rather use Takealot, Bidorbuy, or even Amazon in the US. All exemplary on many occasions. I ordered a book from Loot to be delivered to my mother who has Altzheimers and realised it was the wrong one. Within half an hour of ordering, I logged a return request. When there was no response, I spoke to a customer service agent who assured me that although Loot had sent the parcel, it would not be delivered, just turned around. Essential, because my mother has no ability to return something herself. The book was delivered, my mother didn't understand and opened the parcel as I had told the agent she might. The spine was broken but she couldn't repackage the book anyway. Her carers were not able to do it for her as the packaging had already been thrown away. I accept that every company makes mistakes, but it took two months of back-and-forth emails in which Loot refused to do anything unless the book was returned in mint condition. They kept sending me emails telling me this and wishing me a lovely day!!! After two months of insisting on both a refund and a call from a senior person with decision-making power, they offered to credit my account. I told them I did not ever wish to use Loot again and required a refund for their appalling service but they were adamant. After several weeks, when I'd all but given up, apparently I missed the call from the 'senior person' (this is why they got a one star instead of the zero I wish I could have allocated) and they never tried again, and the number was lost in a host of missed calls that day. I put in another request for a call and three weeks later am still waiting - with my phone close by. In two months I only ever dealt with agents whose hands were tied. Finally, I had no choice but to agree to the credit. I am so frustrated and am now forced to use this ridiculous company again to use up the credit. Horrific and hugely time-consuming experience.”
