"have been a loyal Monica Vinader customer for many years and own numerous pieces of their jewellery, so I am extremely disappointed to be writing this review.\r\n\r\nAfter wearing my Rose Gold Vermeil Alta Textured Chain Necklace, I began noticing scuff marks on my clothing exactly where the long necklace sits and rubs against the fabric. This has now happened to four or five separate items, including expensive gym wear. I have included a photograph showing an example of the damage and the position in which the necklace sits.\r\n\r\nI contacted Monica Vinader and provided photographs clearly showing the damage to several different garments. At their request, I returned the necklace so that their Repairs Team could carry out a thorough inspection.\r\n\r\nFollowing their assessment, I was told that they could find no manufacturing fault or rough edges and that the textured finish of the necklace should not be abrasive enough to cause scuffing or marks on clothing during normal wear.\r\n\r\nThis finding actually leaves me even more concerned. If my necklace has been thoroughly inspected and is considered to be exactly as it should be, I cannot understand why an identical replacement would give me any reassurance that the same thing would not happen again. I therefore declined their offer of a like-for-like replacement and requested a refund, which they have agreed to.\r\n\r\nWhat has disappointed me most, however, is Monica Vinader\u2019s response to the clothing that has already been damaged. Despite providing photographic evidence and explaining that four or five items have been affected, including expensive gym wear, their goodwill offer was a 20% discount on a future full-priced Monica Vinader purchase.\r\n\r\nI specifically asked them to reconsider this in light of the damage to my clothing. Unfortunately, their response was simply to reiterate the same 20% discount offer. This means I would have to spend more money with Monica Vinader in order to receive any benefit from their goodwill gesture, while I am left with several permanently marked garments.\r\n\r\nI am not someone who normally leaves this kind of review, and having been a loyal Monica Vinader customer for many years and purchased numerous pieces of their jewellery, I am genuinely very disappointed \u2013 not only by the necklace itself, but by the way my complaint has ultimately been handled.\r\n\r\nI expected a much higher standard of customer care from an established luxury jewellery brand, particularly when I had provided clear photographic evidence showing the same type of damage to several different garments. While I appreciate that they have agreed to refund the necklace, this does nothing to address the four or five items of clothing that have been left permanently marked.\r\n\r\nSadly, this experience has completely changed how I feel about a brand I have bought from and enjoyed for many years. Based on both my experience with the Alta Textured Chain Necklace and, particularly, the way the resulting damage to my clothing has been dealt with, I would now find it very difficult to recommend Monica Vinader."
