As far as i understood it it was going to tell me if the car was stoen or had any finance! But didnt ! Gave me basic info which i could have got for free! Rubbish and i will be making a complaint

Hi, the check displayed will show all the data supplied at the product level you chose. If you choose to buy a "Classic" check, we advise that there will be information missing which will be available on the "Gold" check. The different amounts of information on each product level is clearly stated before you purchase. Thanks.

I went for the Gold check to purchase a car ,the sample showed me that I will get mileage history, it turns out with certificate saying no millage record. I think it's a total reap off.

Hi, we're very sorry to hear that we couldn't assist you this time. We rely on data providers to supply all vehicle information to us, including mileages. On this occasion it appears that the vehicle data is not complete, therefore it could not be supplied to us. In our product descriptions we do indicate that we will only be able to show information where it is available. price started at £1.99 and then got an offer to upgrade at extra cost..if at the start before i paid ,i had been informed that it was just a con to get more money then i wouldnt have bothered..the main thing top me was to not end up buying a car on finance and for £2 everywhere else ,the information would have been included..would not recomend you to anybody

As the car had a private plate in the past it couldn't confirm HPI and said I had to ring them to go through it more detail. The office was closed on Saturday evening and closed all day Sunday.....isn't the weekend when most people buy cars and need checks done? Useless as I was paying for the car the following day, Sunday. What a joke! HPI was all I was wanting to confirm. Should be clear about this before taking payment, a major floor. Currently asking for a refund.

I expected to have accurate information across all important and vital areas with with regard to a possible purchase of a second hand car....... But I did not! Instead I had information that is only from 2014, that is when the mileage of the said care was at 37,819 miles. The valuation was based on that and therefore was totally useless! I was able to look at the DVLA site and look at information that was only 2 weeks old. I then went to Glasses guide for second hand cars and then determine what price I could expect to pay! When I complained to Mycarcheck I never received a reply, not even in my junk mail, which by the way is exactly what I received in the way of information from them! They are not to be trusted and I would not use them again. On speaking with one of their reps,on the phone he seemed to blame the source where they got their information from, so don't use them.

Hi, thanks for bringing this to our attention. if you could contact us on customercare@mycarcheck.com with more information about the vehicle check we can look into the matter further. It is important to understand that the information contained in our checks come from third parties such as the DVLA, the Police, insurance companies, finance companies and many more organisations, and we do not control the age, quality or frequency of it. The crucial data, such as write-off, stolen and finance data will be the same as other vehicle check organisations, as they have access to the same information as us, so would have provided the same data. The only discrepancy (as you have pointed out) may be the mileage data. Thanks.

The application would not work on my iPad. I spent ages trying to get the information in to buy the report and eventually had to use my computer at home. So zero for the application and only time will tell as to the accuracy of the information provided

There is no mileage history on the report. Also the seller is telling me that he still has outstanding finance on the vehicle but your report shows no outstanding finance. Luckily the seller was honest! How can I rely on your HPI report? A truly waste of money, I should be receiving my money back!

I did a check on a car I was supposed to be viewing and it came back as finance owed. I told the seller, who was adamant all finance was cleared 5 months ago. He contacted his finance company who confirmed this and he did a HPI check of his own which also showed it as clear. I now may miss out on the car. Will not use again.

Hopeless. I actually had more information about this vintage vehicle before requesting details and some of the details provided were actually incorrect. Really unhappy about this service and cannot recommend it.

As you're aware, the vehicle you searched is well over 80 years old, and as such, much of its history pre-dates some of the systems and databases where we get our data from. In instances such as this, vehicle provenance checks might not always be able to give you the information you need. We have sent you a full refund, as you point out, the data we hold was not what we would consider as adequate for your needs. Thanks.

After paying 9 pounds for a "Gold" history check, I was provided with incorrect data regarding finance on a car I had viewed. The HPI report claimed that money was still owed on the vehicle. After further investigation, the car was later found to have no outstanding finance (2 separate sources: the dealer who sold the car & another HPI company). I also noticed some of the technical specs were incorrect (which cost extra). Clearly the data is either out of date or simply wrong. I won't be using mycarcheck again, I feel like I've wasted my money..

Hi Marc, we're very sorry that your experience with us was a negative one. We source our data from a wide range of places, many of which other car check companies utilise too. Whilst we aim to get data 100% accurate, we do have to rely on our providers to be accurate. That includes finance data. Some sources can experience delays, especially for finance that has recently been cleared. Again, we're very sorry you had a bad experience with us. Thanks.

Hi, can you confirm how you did the check? If it was by the iphone app, please click on 'Report a Problem' when your iTunes receipt comes through. We have no way to refund iPhone checks, but can attempt to resolve this if you follow those instructions. Thanks.

I purchased the middle value option, so as to check finance, as well as mileage, ownership and insurance issues. Your report confirmed that there was outstanding finance on the vehicle - WHICH WAS TOTALLY INCORRECT. HPI ran a full check later that day, whcih showed there was no finance outstanding. Your inaccurate report almost scuppered a legitimate sale!

I could not finalize my payment, because their secure webpage is using SHA1 certificate. Modern browsers (like Firefox, Chrome) are not accepting security certificates made with obsolete SHA1 algorithm.

Hi Piotr, I have confirmed with our web services team that the live payment sites and the My Car Check site have SHA256 SSL certificates on them. Any SHA1 occurrence would have been through the 3rd party payment system. If you can pass on more detail about your experience, this will help us work with our partners to correct any possible issues. Thanks.

Paid £9.99 for the extra information especially the mileage and they didn't have a record of if. I would advise go on the DVLA mot history. You will find all the information you need. Waste of money!
