“£9.99 for this review is an absolute rip off. Not at all like the preview I looked at and didn't even have any prices stated in it. I will be advising Honest John to take this off his web site or it will endanger his reputation and credibility. Very poor indeed!!”

“On entering the details of my daughters car we found a red flag for finance. We purchased the car from Availbale car.com and contacted them, they ran a HPI check which is clear of any outstanding finance. The mycarcheck was inaccurate, I will not be using them again!!”

“I made an enquiry on a vehicle yesterday and found it had a finance marker on the vehicle. I them telephoned my car check office using the number shown and I spoke t a man who said he would look into this and when he returned to the telephone to speak to me he said the finance company was in training and he had to call them at 10.30am and he would call me back ???? Still waiting for that call next day. It is not fair that when you pay for a vehicle check you cannot get an answer to the check This is very poor and wish I had used Hpi check instead. Regards David”

“Been informed by Insurance company that there is outstanding finance on the vehicle with Nationwide Corporate Finance Ltd, which does not show on your report. So don't now who to believe”

“The check came back as the vehicle having outstanding finance, which when I rang up and it was checked was not the case. I'm not sure why I should be charged for a service that isn't accurate - it was fortunate that I checked with the seller, who used another car check service which said that the vehicle was OK and there were no issues, that I bothered to call you; the person I spoke to, who was very pleasant and helpful, called the finance company while I was on the line and came back to say that the finance company hadn't updated their records. Had the seller not used the other service I would have just accepted what you said and not gone ahead with the purchase. Very disappointing to know that this service is not reliable.”

“What a waste of money/time. paid £13.00 and all I got was what I already know. colour etc. No mileage check, valuation was poor and out of date. Paid £3.00 for a certificate and they send it by email for you to print of which then looks tacky. If your looking to use mycarcheck.com then I would go elsewhere for following reasons: price expensive poor value for money. Promises this/that but you get a piece of paper that's basically worthless if shown at a later date. All it says : we have no record of this/that e.g stolen or finance etc. remember you pay to ask these questions, not to get we have no record. TOTAL RIPOFF. At the end of the cert. ( valuation may differ for this vehicle) to cover there ar@e Never again mycarcheck....”

Hi Mr Barnes. We're very sorry you have had a bad experience and that you feel this way about our service. We do send a certificate in the post if you choose the option, the PDF by email is standard for all checks. In terms of missing data, we (and all of our competitors) rely on the same sources of information, such as the DVLA, police, insurance and finance companies. If the information is missing, it means our suppliers do not have the data, which likely means our competitors may not have it either.
