“I paid for a platinum car check, which give me the option to find the details on four vehicles, the second car I checked the details on had in its service book two other registration numbers other than the current one, but these did not show up in the report I paid for, I sent an e-mail back to the people @ my car check but they said if these other reg numbers were not listed with DVLA then my car check would have nothing to report on the other reg numbers. I sent an e-mail showing a photo of the service book with the other numbers circled as num1,& 2, and then the current reg,. The service book on the other vehicle I checked did also have a reg number in the service book different to the current one, but the report also said this number did not exist. So overall I felt the website offered a lot before paying but provided nothing of relevance to me. Kind regards David Bell”

“Sorry there is not enough details for this van hiace . It was mine and it was stolen ,I reported The crime to the police. Good news : I still have all the proof of id for the Toyota and the letters from the police. If you want more information, I can give to you . Thanks.”

“Cheaper than a HPI Check but not as much information, No current or previous mileage (which you can get free on most MOT check sites results (bit concerned there were no results) and no current valuation of the vehicle you intend to purchase to stop a person overpaying for a vehicle. However MY CAR CHECK did reveal there was a finance marker on the car i was interested in, so a decent report just lacking in other areas which you would get via a HPI @ around £20. As they say "you pay for what you get"”

“Thorough assessment as ever (used the service many times) but the valuation in this instance is off by nearly 50% Giving a forecourt valuation of £13,060 on a £25,995 car. I'd say the present market the actual forecourt price is optimistic but by 10% max £23,495 would be on the button.”

“The report on the car I was going to buy didn't match the report from the dealer. The dealer had an cat D write off on there report he had, but it was from a previous registration plate on the car that the previous owner took with them and some how was showing up under my registration.”

“Level of detail was ok, however, the check missed one MOT which was issued in 2014, therefore I think the report I paid for was incomplete. You can get some of this information for free by using the .GOV.UK website MOT and car tax checker, and it seems more complete, giving you reasons why cars failed their MOT and all advisory notices.”

“The information provided stated there was possibly finance on the bike. When I finally got through to an agent after 2 calls and being cut off after being on hold for 10 minutes the agent was finally able to confirm verbally there no finance on bike and it was a partial serial number clash with another car. Now information can get mixed up, that's life - but the pi$$ poor response when trying to call is very unprofessional.”

“Lots of info, bit most can be found with a simple google search. I specifically did a search to check mileage but it's not good for that at all, not even got mot mileages”

“Surprisingly didn't include mileage check from Mot history, and the valuation that appeared on the 'certificate' was for average mileage (50,000) in this case when the car only had 7000 miles, so looked like I'd overpriced it - since there is a mileage is on the check, can't understand why valuation is based on the average miles. Relatively expensive for single car check but at least data is valid unlike HPi.”

“Ref: 2472385 Reg: K100 CAF The information on your Carcheck report is inaccurate I have a letter from the insurance company to say that they have amended the write off category from C to D and also it has never been stolen and recovered. How do I get this corrected as it is putting off potential buyers ? Thanks, Alan Smith”

“mileage was not correct car has 77000 miles on it search said 178000 checked with dvla site and it was 77000 finance was sort of correct the car was on finance but with evans halshaw (who had the car for sale ) who purchased the car with its finance part of the company will i use it again not sure”

“Basic check provides enough information for you decide whether to buy or not. Only thing is it doesn't include finance check and you have to register with My car Checkley within 30 days of joining or else they erase your car check!”

Hi Ian, we're sorry to hear you think our service is too expensive. In comparison to our competitors, only one has a cheaper product. In fact the majority of our well-known competitors charge at least double what we do for the same information. Our products start from £1.99, which we believe, even for the lowest cost car is an extremely small price for peace of mind. Thanks.
