“My husband & i both have food allergies so it was hard to find a food service that fit both our needs. Very happy to have found Metabolic Meals. I have a gluten intolerance & can't eat onions. My husband has a rice allergy as well as a zucchini/squash sensitivity. I'd give you 5 stars if you had more selections that we could both eat especially having trouble with onions (I'm always bummed out when I see a new recipe & then find out it has onions in it). The food is really VERY GOOD as well as being healthy for us. Everything tastes so good!!! Also would love to see some seafood entrees as well as salads but I suppose it would be difficult to package. Thanks for asking my opinion & for having such a quality product at an affordable price.

“Flavor and variety are excellent. I wish I could order just 5 meals a week and I also wish there were "incentives" (or a point system) that allowed one to earn discounts on the meals or the shipping charge.”
“Overall, I do enjoy these meals. I wish sodium was a bit lower in some recipes. I am happy they change meal selection each week but then it comes to point where you eventually come back around and some of those weeks I like more than others and other times it's the opposite. I wish there were more vegetables in some of these dishes that are not broccoli. As I cannot eat broccoli. I also would like more white meat chicken recipes because I do not eat chicken thighs, so this limits my choices. In my case, I go towards beef and some chicken dishes as I don't eat pork. But I am sure those are great for others that may enjoy that. I have lost 15 lbs since eating these meals so they are helpful for me.”
“This meal service is a valuable resource, freeing me from worrying about dinner arrangements.I do wish there was more of a variety with the meals and better side options. Customer service has been great anytime I have had to outreach regarding late deliveries or a meal damaged.”
“Often too much spice. Note I have lots of food intolerances including to many spices like balls of black pepper. White pepper is absolutely abhorrent to me, burns on the lips, burns in the mouth and burns in the stomach. I hate the porcine sauce. Like like the real taste of pork, beef, chicken, turkey, broccoli, even liver and spinach. I don't want "hot sauce" on my turkey meal.
I have a medically proven intolerance to olives/olive oil. Now it is mild so as long as I don't order vegetables and meat sauces made with olive oil, I will be OK. However since my Mother had the same problem, I never learned to like the smell or taste of olive oils. Yes I know why nutritionists stress its use.
I am celiac so I very much enjoy safe food to eat. I love knowing the sauces are safe to eat. However using ingredients like Worcester sauce worries me as well, one can get gluten free Worcester sauce, it is much more expensive. Thus I doubt you are avoiding all the subtle sources of gluten. Fortunately I am not hyper sensitive but I cannot recommend your food to my celiac sister.
I love your pre sliced meat. I love there are choices that do not have aminos. I wish you offered an occasional Mandrin Chinese meal with almost no hot spice. Even a mild meal will be too spicy to me.
I supposedly have an intolerance to white potato. You love, love white potato. Sigh. Sometimes I just buy the meal, throw out the potato and add a vegetable like broccoli. I like my green vegetables! I'm not a man needed lots of simple carbohydrates for enough fuel and satisfaction. I can eat sweet potatoes.
You also love simple carbohydrates in the form of white rice & white potato . Gluten free noodles that are likely not keto or paleo. How about sometimes using brown rice or quinoa? Bean noodles or spaghetti squash noodles? I'm trying to follow the Always Hungry diet which in the phase two, weight lost phase, bans simple carbohydrates used as a a meal portion. Like a serving of white rice. Or country cornbread egg breakfast.
You have had enough variation that I haven't gotten bored with certain meals. Most are tasty enough I eat all or most of the meal. As a senior citizen, I like the choice of the smaller serving of protein.
I'm not sure three, big, ice packs are needed when sending to the colder regions of the country in Winter. Now in the 100 degree Summer time, three may not be enough. May I suggest using packs of dry ice. This is much, much easier for me to dispose of and much, much, much less weight to handle and put into my trash. The ice packs have no recycling here and City Sanitation does not want the warmed contents to be put in the sewer line.”
“I absolutely love this service. The options are to our liking and things we would be making at home if time allowed. The only thing I'm struggling with right now it the cost.”
“The only thing I’d change is the way that it’s reoccurring. I hate the fact that if I don’t order by Wednesday they send meals the next week anyway and I haven’t chosen what I want I just get whatever. Other than that they’re great!”
“The meals are great quality. Taste wise, some will obvioulsy be better than others. The ingredients used is what sets Metabolic apart from all others. They actually know about good fats vs bad fats in that they use good oils in their recipes. The trays can be difficult to open, but maybe that's a necessary evil.”
“The meals have given me the opportunity to try new foods / flavors, and rotate protein types. Best of all, it has reminded me of proper portion control and I have lost weight as a result.”
“The good was good but I wish there was even more variety. I got tired of the same things over and over. I am unable to order now for a while as I had hip replacement surgery and cannot lift the heavy boxes into my house after delivery!”
“I like the meals, the ordering process is easy, the protein is excellent and tasty, but I do wish there were more vegetables in the meals. I've tried other services without the delivery fee, but the quality wasn't as good. It's easy for my daughter to take them to work for her lunches, just put them in the microwave. I order for both of us. I am elderly and I appreciate that I do not have to prepare meals at home, as well.”
“The meals are great, im happy with the variety, the speed with which the meals arrive, the taste and the customer service. However, the packaging is horrific and it takes me forever to rip into this plastic container and peel off the film that feels like it's been sealed with cement. I also hate that the package comes with three huge blocks of ice, they're incredibly difficult to dispose of and are also wasteful. That part could use improvement.”
“Metabolic Meals have been a lifesaver over the past six months as I navigate my nutrition plans, designed by an online fitness and nutrition coach. Metabolic Meals are typically higher in protein and lower in carbohydrates and fats compared to other pre-made meal services. I appreciate the convenience of scanning a barcode in MyFitnessPal to track macronutrients and calories for each meal and the simplicity of heating them for just two minutes in the microwave.
While Metabolic Meals are on the expensive side, their pricing is comparable to other services. However, one downside is the minimum order requirement of 15 meals to qualify for free shipping, which otherwise costs $19.95. Additionally, I do wish the chefs would expand their menu, as I often see the same meals repeated every few weeks. More variety and choices would be great.
One feature I particularly value is the subscription-free membership, which ensures I only receive meals when I order them. Overall, I believe Metabolic Meals are a worthwhile investment for those starting their nutrition journey or those who lack the time or finances to cook homemade meals regularly.”
“I love My Metabolic Meals. Its a great quick option for lunch and a fun way to do a separate meal for everyone in the family. Easy to pick and order while being so tasty!”
