““I booked at boiler service on Tuesday pay and everything sorted later, they called me 5 hours later to tell me that it was not possible because did not have engineers available for the a date i choose and that they could come a week later and I responded that it is not possible because I had already paid and they told me that they did not have engineers available y the only wawy was to cancel no happy and never i used this service again”
“I booked an EICR through MyConstructor (TICKET ID: MC-013093) for 29/11/2024. The service provider attempted to rearrange but failed to notify me directly. I had to call MyConstructor myself to cancel and request a refund, which led to an extremely frustrating experience.
After an unbearably long hold, I finally spoke to a customer service agent who was, without a doubt, the most unprofessional and rude person I have ever encountered. When I requested confirmation of the refund, I was told vaguely that it would be processed "sometime next week."
When I asked to escalate the issue and speak to a manager, I was rudely questioned about my reasons. I was promised a callback within 30 minutes, which never happened. The fact that MyConstructor took payment before the job was complete is unacceptable. When I queried this, I was met with nothing but hostility.
If I do not receive confirmation of my refund by close of business today, I will pursue legal action without further warning.
Avoid this company at all costs – their service is an absolute disgrace!”
“After spending >£200 on a 'professional' end-of-tenancy clean, our landlord in the EOT report said the clean was to a domestic standard and has charged us >£300 for a proper professional clean. MyConstructor say that it's not their problem as it's been more than 48h since their clean - but it took our landlord more than 48h to do their report!
Clearly MyConstructor know that most people won't complain within 48h, so they don't have to bother doing a professional job! Complete scam, don't waste your money”

They operate a chat function that is pointless, given the response is always to 'call this number' or log in and create a ticket, and when you do call, you're through to someone who lets just lacks the social skills to help. It works when the contractors you book turn up, but if anything goes wrong, it all falls apart, mainly because there's been zero investment in customer service and staff training. The website takes the strain, but human touch is far more important, and that where it falls apart with My Constructor.”

“I am an Electrician and decided to sign up to MyConstructor to supplement my work as a domestic Installer with NICEIC. It was obvious from the start that this was not going to work. I was inundated with spam emails from the company with no real clarity on how the whole system worked to the point that I got fed up and tried to leave. But not before receiving a call out of the blue one morning asking where I was?! A customer had apparently booked an EICR through the myconstutor website and yet I had no knowledge of this appointment?!? and to rub insult into injry they put a price of only £25 on this ( an utterly ridiculous price for an EICR- I charge between £100-180) which means after their 30% commission I'd come away with only £17.50???? I had to do a 1.5 hour round trip to get to the poor guy ( who incidentally travelled 2.5 hours up from Devon to get to his rental property to meet me and ended up having to turn around and go back again as unfortunately i wasnt available that day. It turned out OK in the end for myself as the customer was happy to go directly through myself in the end and pay my standard rate but he lost his £25 that he paid to mycconstructor. So as a tradesman my advice is - don't bother. And as a customer please PLEASE stop using these sites to book your work!! They charge huge commission and lead fees to the tradesman with very unfair rigid rules. I beg you just do this -

“ECP Assessor duped me into purchasing a floor plan saying now a legal requirement . He also made mutterings that standards had changed and that my house might move from a D to E...this became the conversation most of the time. He said the floor plans would be £75.00 whilst continuing to say he'd have to consider the rating. The next thing he started to ask for more money. I said £100.00 and, after more general banter, he said £150.00 for plans and that l would definitely get a D rating.
The following day l had someone around to quote for a room in loft insulation only to be told his company charged £90.00 for an EPC and included the floor plan..he was shocked when l said l was asked for £150.00.
I asked Assessor for £150.00 returned and was told NO...l eventually got through to a Jade Hessay at MyConstructor who refunded my initial EPC payment and said l was going to trading standards and National Landlords Association. I eventually received a refund for my £150.00 from the Assessor and said l want to speak the Christof about the lack of professional conduct of Assessors...l've not received any call or email.”
“The guy who had a good service ..I think you were just lucky. If I could give zero I would .I needed to have an electrical report to sell my house. I was in such a hurry to get the job done .I didn't check the reviews. Well I've certainly paid the price.£ 129 and an unsatisfactory report. He was there less than 45 min. So there is no way he could have done what he was meant to do. Do not use them..”
“Worst Service! Never Again
Very unprofessional service! We booked EoT cleaning with them for a 1bed. The cleaning agent came in without a bleach or even a toilet brush both of which I had to buy for her. Looking at the small bag of equipment she brought with her, we were worried if they have even the things needed for EoT cleaning. When asked she assured that she has done a lot of EoT cleanings and she will get our deposit back. The check-out was conducted by a professional the next day and they called it "domestic" cleaning and the photos clearly showed limescale in kitchen and bathroom and even the water marks left behind. We got the checkout report after a week and when we raised this with myconstructor they said we can't help after 48hrs, even though we clearly showed the professional checkout report conducted within 48hrs. Now our property manager is deducting from our deposit for a full professional reclean. Truly dissapointed with the service and also myconstructor support.”

1-No Showing up for Appointments: They consistently failed to show up for scheduled appointments.
2. Payment Taken Without Job Completion: They took my money upfront and did not complete the job.
3. Customer Satisfaction Survey: Adding insult to injury, they sent a customer satisfaction survey as if they had completed the job.

“MyConstructor have bad business practices and buy reviews from trust pilot I have sent my evidence to trading standards and a local journalist to cover the scams that they pull with contractors and companies. They do not have a physical office so starting legal proceedings against them you will have to file in a high court and apply for an order to freeze their bank account as they have no office to attend to recover the money. The people who work for them have Britain’s accents but they are based in Greece. I will post the website where customers can build a forum for the scams and file legal proceedings against the scams for the past 5 months have evidence of the scams hopefully they pay everyone the money they owe and I shall be contacting companies house and the VAT office as their companies accounts will more than likely be forged with scammed money. This website is the true reflection of the practices and trust pilot cannot continue to allow fake reviews on the platform. See Christos the dodgy CEO in court!”
