“Scammers if I had my phone I sold have seen these negative reviews! Thieves clearly
have rarely encountered anything as frustrating as a business that exploits people's misfortune.
After accidentally locking myself out of my flat, I found myself in a difficult situation. It was a simple Yale lock, something any skilled locksmith should have been able to open. To make matters worse, I’d also locked my phone inside, so I had to borrow one to find the first available locksmith online. It was winter, it was cold, and I was in a hurry.
When I called, I was quoted £50–£75 depending on the type of lock. Fair enough. They asked for a callback number, which I didn’t have since I wasn’t using my own phone.
The locksmith arrived quickly—within 15 minutes—which I appreciated. However, things took a turn for the worse. He attempted to open the Yale lock with a plastic tool, gave up almost immediately, and announced that he’d need to drill it. Suddenly, the price jumped to £175, completely contradicting the quote I’d been given.
Then came the upsell. If I wanted to replace the lock, he claimed the cheapest option would be £95 for a basic lock with three keys—something he referred to as "B&Q prices." I later discovered the same lock from Yale directly costs £55. Clearly, there was a significant markup. He even tried to frame this as a "deal" by saying he wasn’t charging me for labor, as if that justified the inflated prices.
Under the circumstances, I had no choice but to let him drill the lock. I declined the replacement as I had other locks on the door, but even so, I was charged £225.60 for a process that took less than 70 seconds. There was no mention of a call-out fee during the initial phone conversation, which felt deliberately misleading.
This experience left me feeling completely taken advantage of. Businesses like this rely on people’s desperation, positioning themselves at the top of Google to catch customers who don’t have the time or tools to research alternatives. If I had my phone and time to explore other options, I would have certainly chosen differently.
Charging over £200 to drill a hole and then attempting to sell me a lock at nearly double its retail price is nothing short of predatory. To add insult to injury, the locksmith had the audacity to claim he was doing me a favor. You are con artists
Avoid this company.”
“Locked myself out with my puppy. Called this company no price given on the phone or when the locksmith arrived . 499.00 I was charged I was shocked if he had told me the price before he drilled my lock I would have told him to leave . This company have no shame I'm retired now and this high bill has affected me”
“The absolute worst company do not use!!! Said it would be £39.99 then on arrival nearer £250 which we accepted for the work, ended up being £640!! Absolute Scam, reporting to trading standards”
“AVOID. They are SCAM artists. They say the lock is a year guarantee. But did a bodge job for about £500 which is significantly nore than originally
quoted. They did it a second time and it was another bodge job. The 3rd time the lock stopped working and they conned my parents out of £250 cash in hand refusing to give a receipt or a job report. And refused to accept it was their fault. NEvER use them or trust them.”
“SCAMMERS, CROOKS, ILLEGAL COMPANY, FAKE VAT NUMBER, BEING STRUCK OFF BY COMPANIES HOUSE. Fake VAT no. GB181210447 Company Number 14578660
After my business being broken into, I called this locksmith company as it was top of google, it came up as Locksmith 24/7, but I now know they have many aliases, but the main company is FIXTOON LIMITED. The guy that took the call, told me £69.00 call out plus labour approx £150 and any parts. I told him no parts needed as lock was intact just needed door mended and lock secured. No problem he said and lock smith would be there in 30 minutes. This was 5.30am Sunday morning. He called back and said locksmith would be there at 9am. How I wish I had cancelled, I stupidly didn’t, but went over the costs again. When Adam the locksmith, eventually came at 10am, he told my manager that it would be expensive as the door was broken and we should replace the door. My manager refused. 45 minutes later, our original lock put back in securely, and FIVE screws put it to secure door frame damaged. Those five screws cost £500, that’s £100 per screw. My manager paid with a debit card, another mistake, should have paid with credit card then I could have got the £500 back. I didn’t have a problem with £69 call out or the £150 labour, but I did with the £500, then he had the audacity to say ‘you can claim the VAT back’.
Since then, I have called the company 3 times, sent two emails as advised by Adam and the company when I have called. I have reported them to HMRC and Trading Standards. They have been reported many times, but the guy seems to close one business down then open another one up. Even reported in the Daily Mirror as ripping off a pensioner.
ONE WORD – AVOID.”
“This is such a scammer website ! I got Locked out off the house and I called them that say it's only 50£, but when they arrived, the middle eastern guy showed up and charges me 400£ with a bad attitude”
“On the plus side, they did the job and came quickly. On the down side they are outrageously expensive and also charged for a lock they didn't fit. Proceed with caution.”
“Agree with all the reviews posted. Quoted £50 to open the door. On arrival we were told, need to drill the lock and quoted us £489 plus vat . Plus £169 to open. The same replacement lock cost £40 at screwfix. Do not call them.”
“Do not touch these guys with a barge pole!!! Absolute scam artists, accepted the exorbitant charges based on the fact that we had no choice, my daughter was locked out of her house at 11pm with no other options. My issue is that the cylinder that was used to replace the one drilled out was installed with the key on the inside of the house and the thumb turn on the outside, I don't expect the technician is that dumb, I can only assume he didn't have the correct one on him and couldn't care less.
I replaced the cylinder with one that could actually secure the property & asked for a refund for the £125 cylinder supplied.
The total bill was £490.80 so I believe that this was a fair request. 2 emails explaining my dissatisfaction & the only response of the technician calling me to tell me that the only option they would give me was for the technician to return & change it.
I'd already explained that this had already been done (with a perfectly suitable cylinder which cost £14. Based on reading the reviews of other dissatisfied customers I'm now not surprised.
My frustration with this company has now resulted in a quest to inform as many people as I possibly can to avoid them like the plague.”
“Overcharged (invoice amount was less than the amount taken from my credit card). Despite saying they will rectify this they are now refusing to acknowledge my email or speak with me as "accounts don't have a phone line". The lady in customer service only shouts and says abusive things suggesting they have no intention of rectifying this overcharge.”
“Should give negative rating if possible for this company. Group of frauds & goons with absolutely no regard for customer. They mislead on service costs & even try to loot you by asking to pay VAT twice over. Customer call executive gave misleading & incomplete information around cost for services
Field agent was trying to charge extra by way of putting VAT twice( adding VAT on already calculated service charge + VAT amount). Upon my observation & further request to explain himself, he was rude & abusive without accepting his mistake.”
“Awful company. Totally scammed. Drilled out lock on my back door. Took 5 mins. Tweaked multi lock mechanism to open and then put in new barrell lock, one I provuded to to keep costs down. (10 minutes) Total £220.00. No materials aa all mine including my WD40. 15 - 20min work. £220.00. Stay away. Another company is charging £200.00 for two people to come and rehang the whole door. Apparently this will take an hour. The difference says it all. This company is the worst.”
“Awful Experience, Don’t trust them!!
I just broke my key at 2:30pm on Saturday 23-4-2022 and called My LondonLockSmiths, they quoted me £49, but when a staff Dani came to tell me there was a Holiday Surcharge at 3pm on Saturday!
Finally opened the door for me, and charge me £471.6 (invoice no: 31235) with hidden cost and told me after the service! It is 10 times more expensive than the quotation!
I would like to make a complaint!! But no response from them!!!”
“We called for opening a garage door on Friday 11th March. Customer service on the phone confirmed the labor costs (£45) and lock price (from £69) and they gave us a slot for 5:30. After waiting half hour for the engineer, he charged us extra £169 for emergency after working hour work. We questioned the price and the engineer insisted that we should pay the price and make a complaint as this is what the company told him. From the same day we tried to log our complaint on with the company and unfortunately every time (Adrian Rosu) avoid giving a concrete answer. He started with the company charged you based on the service price to nobody forced you to pay. My last phone call with them was very disappointing as they simply said nobody forced you to pay the money while they kept us in the cold weather for more than 30 minutes and the engineer forced us to pay the money.
We are taking a legal action against this company. Be aware of their contact numbers they have few mobile numbers which they didn’t mention on their website and fixed line, dispatch people are rude and not helpful. The official name of company is (lock services London limited- company number: 11293053), please you had a bad experience from this company make an official complaint and use the company number.”
