We had twice bad experience for making reservation. We booked 2 seats from T2 to Swansea, when we get on the coach a young teenage girl occupied 2 seats and her mother said she is sick and no reservation sign on seat. This mistake make both side embrassed.

BEWARE NEVER GO FOR NATIONAL EXPRESS ! I'm extremely unsatisfied because, due to their service disruption, I was about to miss my flight, and I had to spend an additional £ 46 to avoid it. Precisely, I travelled to London for leisure from 29th December 2025 to 2nd January 2026. Landed at Stansted Airport, I bought a National Express open return ticket to get to London Southwark. At the purchase, I had just been told that the return ticket was cheaper than two single tickets and that I could have picked up any National Express ride within three months to get back to the airport. None mentioned that I should have booked the return ride. The way to London Southwark on 29th December was fine, even if it took much longer than the 50 minutes advertised on the advertising boards. The mess came with the return ride. I reached London Southwark stop at 3.20 pm on the 2nd January. At 3.40 pm the first National Express came by. The rider stopped and told me that I could not get on the bus since it was fully booked. I discovered that my open return ticket was rubbish, since I had to give priority to all the ticket holders who purchased that specific bus service. The driver told me to wait for the next bus. I did. The next bus came with 10 minutes delay (4.10 pm) and it didn't even stop, despite I desperately tried to make it stop, even risking being run over. Extremely worried about losing my flight, I had to hurry to a public bus station to get to Liverpool Street and take the Stansted express train, whose service was perfect and allowed me to take my return flight just in time. My recommendation: Just go for the Stansted Express train, never take the National Express !

Decided to spend NewYear in London. We reserved two seats for 28th December from Plymouth to Victoria and return from Victoria to Plymouth on the 3rd January. At Plymouth we were informed that passengers to Heathrow had priority, thus reserved seats were no longer in force. We were informed that the coach was overbooked. Luckily myself and my husband managed to get a seat, and informed to contact customer service. On return we managed to sit in our reserved seats (4a and 4b). However at Heathrow I was rudely confronted my a young man who said that we were in his and his partners seats. I showed him my seats reservations, but he just tried to grab my phone stating that I was on the wrong coach. After arguing for a few minutes, he decided to speak to the driver. I showed the driver my seat reservations, and the driver said that I was correct and that there was a double booking, and found them alternative seating. Although we we able to remain in our seats, the whole experience was very daunting. He shouted at me in front of a coach full of passengers. Myself and my husband are in our sixties. I have Rheumatoid arthritis and mental health issues. We travel to relax, not face confrontations. Shall not use your services again

Absolutely terrible experience with National Express. I will never use this company again. I booked a ticket for the A2 service, expecting a simple transfer to the airport. Instead, the bus broke down (at least according to what they later claimed), and I was left stranded with my autistic and disabled sister—right before Christmas—risking missing our flight. To make things even worse, the cancellation email from National Express only arrived after I was already standing at the stop. There was no helpful communication, no proper support, and no workable alternative offered in the moment. I couldn’t help but feel that the service was simply cancelled because there were not many passengers booked on it. That’s exactly how it looked: no bus, no meaningful assistance, and an extremely late “breakdown” announcement when we were already at the stop. Whether that was the case or not, the way the situation was handled leaves a very bad impression. In the end, I had to take an expensive taxi just to avoid missing my flight. National Express admits the service didn’t operate, yet still refuses to refund me for the journey they failed to deliver. Instead, they offered two 25% vouchers — which are completely useless, as I do not plan to visit the UK again anytime soon, and probably not for the rest of my life. This experience felt dishonest, unprofessional, and like they simply do not care about passengers once things go wrong. They took my money, failed to provide the service, and refused to return it. Avoid this company if you value reliability, accountability, or any basic level of customer care.

Buses from airport - If flight is delay you can’t change anything ……. If your flight is delay and it’s almost midnight - you can use the ticket next morning … your problem, also you fault - complain to airline company … Or Buy a refundable ticket or put spending money on trash

Trying to book a ticket is probably worse with national express than any travel company I have used in the last 50 years! App should be a one stop shop with no need for email ticket. Bring your company into 20th century - you clearly can’t cope with 21st century!

UNIQUE REF CODE: BR09. It's utterly shameful that we are on a 10 hr trip from Newcastle to London on NX 426 and the AC is not working. Everyone is sweating and complaining. Terrible experience. Shows that no one is maintaining these vehicles. Will be posting this on trustpilot and Google reviews. Shame on y'all

To be succinct - don't ever use National Express to Stanstead! It’s really not okay to have coaches running over 30 minutes late without notifications. And they slyly ensure you have no recourse unless the bus is cancelled. The result was two wasted tickets - which I cant get refunded- and a 68 pound uber to get where I needed to be.

Extremely poor service. My suitcase got exchanged with another customer’s and the type of treatment I received to reclaim it was pathetic. They were unhelpful and unnecessarily rude. They directed me to reclaim the wrong suitcase in spite of me having given them clear instructions. I will never get onto national express’s coaches again and I highly urge others not to as well. The company does not deserve to run with such poor service. Absolutely the worst experience

A company that has a terrible customer service department. I cannot understand why large companies do not care for refunds given a scenario they highlighted. It is basic entrapment.

Do NOT buy flexible ticket if your journey is on the same day, they offer no flexibility unless they cancel their service, basicially they sell something they do not offer (you have to refund/change at least 24h in advance!!!.Instead I recommend not to pre book and just buy it onboard it will give you most flexibility.

I will like to make a complaint about Kitt that drove the couch to Heathrow Terminal 2 and 3 today @ 15: 00 hour today. I will call him a wicked old man have ever came across in my entire life. Have been talking couches from the couch stations for the past 20 years but today I met a devil that I rebook to meet again. He tried to make me miss my flight but I thank God that failed his plan . I have a coffee machine duffle bag this guy insisted at the last minute that I have to go and pay for extra luggage £15 with all the begging, crying and my explanation he insisted I have to go to the customer service and make a payment as that is not enough. After making a payment he insisted searching my bag if I have food in it like he’s a custom officer . I was begging him after making the payment he insisted looking inside my bag if I don’t have food there. If you don’t talk to him to take it cool with your Passanger he will make you lose a lot of customers and you won’t know why you are losing customers. He frustrated my life today and spoilt my day. I was begging him pleading that am going to missed my flight he insisted I have to go to customer service to pay for an extra luggage I never have extra luggage all because of the coffee machine box made the duff bag big. Because you Kit made me cry and made me bitter you will always experience bitterness all the days of his life . None of my family and friends will never ever travel with Nation Express again. I was shaking I nearly collapsed at Victoria Couch station in Oder not to miss my flight the couch is about to depart. Is a better experience that nobody will like to go through. Kitt my God will never forgive you for the stress you put me through today .😢

NEVER AGAIN! We booked our tickets when checking in the Ryanair website from to the bus from Stansted to London Victoria and vice versa. We arrived 4 AND A HALF HOURS (arrived at 14:00 to 18:40 flight) before our flight to catch the bus. However, after being refused to enter in the bus, the staff told us we needed to exchange our tickets to guarantee our seat in the next bus. At the information counter, the man told us there was nothing to be done, so, to make sure we didn’t miss our flight, we were forced to buy another pair of tickets. So basically we were robbed. The man even had the nerve to say that’s how Ryanair and National Express make money. No shame. Just thieves. For the emotional and financial distress, just take the train.

Major problem with the U.K. is this coach company that monopolises the market and there’s no viable competitor. Very uncomfortable seats on all the fleet. Always smelly on board. Very boring to travel with them.

Arrived at bus stops at Stansted on 12-12-2024 to be told no bus for 80 mins. Staff accepted this as the norm for A6 route. Sort of tried to be helpful by offering transport to completely different places on other buses and then stories about cancelled buses, no buses or drivers. This later changed to bus and drivers done their time and bus engine will not start for another 45 mins. Eventually left Stansted 100 mins late. This is the 3rd time I have had over an hours delay at Stansted in a year. Should not be publishing a 30 min timetable and taking bookings if they have not got buses & drivers? Complained to National upon return but not expecting a response. Next trip already booked, using train.
