Worst energy company ever! Stay well clear they have unlawfully disconnected my supply twice in 6 years. I am currently embroiled in protracted litigation with them. They have redacted and destroyed data, double billed and credited my account with circa £36,000.00, despite this, they claim they have not done anything wrong!! They are imbecilic I have sued them for circa £100.000.00 and will be instigating criminal proceedings against them too for breaching the Data Protection Act of 2018. If you need assistance in exposing these incompetent, unscrupulous, and scoundrels who regularly embark in unethical conduct and skulduggery. Their Defended Case Handler has admitted on court record that they have destroyed and/or deleted documents which I sought to evidence and rely on. To destroying and/or amending of data to prevent its disclosure is a criminal offence under the Data Protection Act 2018 and this I’m taking them to court for criminality. They don’t have a clue, don’t be bullied into paying and/or told that you have to stay with them. You can legally get out of contract if the terms of the contract have been broken. Opus Energy break their own terms and conditions and repeatedly, breach the Electricity Supply Code. Don’t pay them I will help you to challenge inaccurate and incorrect billing. Call me on 0207 871 3001

Dangerous company. It has instructed ACS,a debt recovery company to get me to pay over £1800plus for electricity used AFTER I left them on June 22,2020,Non payment equals disconnection, they say.I have paid my new cheaper Supplier about £850 for electricity used to date.It has been worse. To date I have been sent 10 plus bills ranging from £450 to £2800 AFTER leaving OPUS.The Ombudsman has been most helpful.I am asking for £600 compensation for the distress it has caused my wife.I-will us it to plant trees on our small farm.Avoid this Company,it will seriously damage your mental health and sanity.

‼️Stay well clear of this company‼️ Been with them 12 years always found them ok until after lock down I get a huge bill due too being estimated before lock down.. (so they say, ) so after returning to my small beauty salon & not making much money I was I was trying to resolve the issue I paid £500 towards the bill then Couldn’t get through to anyone No one contacted me about the complaint I had taken up Then to reopen today again after the second lock down to be greeted by a vile man from Opus (no mask and no social distances from anyone) and they DISCONNECTED the supply without me trying to discuss this with Opus I had a salon with clients and fully booked tomorrow and Friday for the first time in months Now Iv had to borrow from family £1500 to be reconnected & to be told they don’t even know when this will be so Iv spent all day cancelling clients I will now be making no money this week It’s made me ill I am seeking legal advice Shocking service can’t wait to leave !!!!

Possibly the only energy company that doesn't want to give a payment plan for a hospitality business and threaten with disconnection. Got all legal letters this morning. No one to talk to after being on hold for over an hour. Make sure, you dont sign up with these guys as I got 5 other sites with Npower and EDF who are more than happy to work together to come out this difficult times.

Opus Energy is the biggest scam! They run business like gangster or criminal organisation. They create fake story and harassed us over 2 years. They constantly send us the bills purely based off estimates when they know that no electricity has been consumed? We have told them: 1/ We never sign contact with them. They use very trick to set us to their trap but they are totally fails. 2/ The meter with serial number K95G15103 is not energised and the meter has always read 044041 since the premises was purchased 3/ On 8th January 2018 they sent a letter to confirm that a meter operator was sent to access the premises. In the document it asserts “Our Meter Operator attended our premise on 11th September 2017 and confirmed that it (Meter) was just currently not connected to any appliances and was therefore not consuming.” But the bills with fake reading still send to us. 4/ We have told them several times before July 2017 via telephone to remove their meter and any of their supposed equipment in our building. Yet they have done absolutely nothing. The bill still send to us. 5/ The law said that energy supply electricity must send meter operator to read the meter after 2 years and correct the bills. They did nothing even after we write letters and phone them about sending meter operator to our building. Do any people have any ideas to make them obey the law? We need help!

Avoid at all costs. We’re currently having issues with them & out if interest I just checked online to see what reviews they’ve been given. My dad has a rental property (recently reset) & he has informed them on at least 3 occasions that he is no longer the appropriate contact. He has received several letters (all of them in triplicate) advising him that they would not release him from his contract. They have eventually released him (taken about 6 weeks). Now I’ve just found out he has a further final bill (they’ve used no gas for almost a year & the direct debit was supposed to cover the standing charge). Checking with the new tenant (who has switched company) she also has an unexpected bill from them charging her at an extortionate standing charge …. because THEY would not release from contract. Absolutely disgusting. Do not use & avoid at all costs

Shocking customer service, scare tactics and scammers. They are charging me £1600 for 3 weeks of electricity on a building that was closed and unoccupied. They have no way to prove why it’s so high but insist it’s correct. When I dispute the numbers they threaten debt collectors, they then send a final bill that I pay and then weeks later they claim to have made a mistake and request another £1200. Avoid at all costs.

Dreadful experience. Opus Energy was my tenant's supplier. When tenancy ended Opus switched me to a business tariff without my knowledge and consent. Next month my gas bill for an empty property exceeded the tenants' bill by almost three times. Customer service did not answer my complaint.

I mean I probably don't even need to contribute after seeing the absolutely shocking reviews you've already got. But I'm not even a customer and you've tried treating me like a c*** Have never and will never use you. Literally sounds like a scam/cowboy company. "Tom from Glasgow" deserves the sack, rude little rat. I'll be sending round the call recording to all known customers of yours. Have a great day, cheers for ruining mine :)

As a screaming warning to others, we took on the lease of a new business premises in November, we had no notification as to who the energy supplier was, no detail on the meter, nothing ...!!!! So waited to receive notification. A bill dated 25.12.23 was posted in an envelope date stamped 28.12.23 which arrived on Saturday 6th January 2024. Seeing a standard daily rate of £3 we tried to call but couldn't until today (Monday) as they do not accept weekend calls. The outcome, for new customers even though there is a 6 week delay between them starting to supply you and then getting in touch to say they are your supplier they still adhere to the £3 a day standing charge, they say all energy companies do this (I do not know as this is our first business lease where we need to pay for our own energy). So in our case we have to pay 60 days standing charge at £3 a day = £180 to cover the days a premises sat empty with no energy usage until their bill arrived, we were able to query it and a new supplier taking over on the 11th January. I didn't realise daylight robbery was a thing within business but apparently it is, there is nothing you can do except pay it and learn a very very expensive lesson. It took 25 minutes holding this morning to speak to someone, they in turn put me through to someone else only for that call to be cut off and then another 10 minutes to hold to speak to someone else and now a 5 day wait for them to produce a final bill with the correct reading we gave them and send us our final bill. Thankfully from the 11th they will not be our supplier and they never will be again so posting as a heads up for anyone else in a similar situation or considering using them as a business energy supplier. For reference they offered to reduce the standing charge to 64p a day (other companies around the 54p level and British Gas Lite 45), KwH for Electricity quoted at 29p again British Gas offering cheaper. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID, AVOID

This company is run by Indian staff, and I suspect their work ethics are zero. They don't have a manger to complain to when asked to speak to a manager. I tried to complain to the company believing that they had ellicit with another scam agent to sign me up with Opus. They had closed my current supplier account on my behalf.

They took off my metre off and told me that a new metre will be replaced. I had the children and olderly lady staying at the property. When I spoke to the metre replacement team I was told that they had made a 24 hour appointment. Then I beg them to connect the metre but they told to to wait. It’s 16 hours without electric. Now there offices are closed. Extremely poor and unprofessional service.

Was not informed my contract was ending… Was not informed my contract was ending which then went from £60 per month to £400 When I’ve rang to complain they said they sent “a letter” out, so one letter which I didn’t receive (how can you rely on the postal service if it isn’t recorded) plus she confirmed they don’t send email reminders yet I get an bill emailed each month.. Why ? Seems it’s a scam to get you to pay extortionate amounts. Whether or not I’m on a fixed rate I didn’t give permission to take money out of my account. STANDING CHARGE WENT FROM £1.35 to £17.84 a DAY !!! I’m speaking with citizens advice and currently reaching out to the financial and electrical ombudsman plus trading standards

I have an apartment within a company and have dealt with Opus for 11 years. Originally they were ok. Yesterday I discovered they were charging me 88p per Kwh unit of electricity!. Other suppliers quote 28p. A year ago they charged 25p, then increased to 55p then in April to 88p. I complained they had failed to write to me about the increases - but they feel a notice on the invoice buried in their hard to use portal was enough. Transparency - Zero !. Having been a loyal customer for 11 years they suggested I should leave to get a better deal elsewhere..! The fact they made a pre tax loss of £12.9m in 2022 and another £4.3m loss in 2021 in their accounts is little surprise Dreadful charging structure, lousy customer empathy, a company that no sensible person would deal with. 1 star seems generous.

Video evidence on u toob -Opus switched the supply without customer authorisation after speaking to a (dumb) tenant who wasn't responsible for payment of the supply. -Last bill here shown £720 which then jumped to £2200 for a final bill when property sold, because Opus changed the Tariff used to 83p kWh on the final bill. This is 3 times higher tariff than it should be. -Opus have never presented a contract or agreed a tariff with the customer. Opus Energy operate illegally under the comfort of an Ombudsman who supports big business and a judicial lip-service system NEVER USE OPUS ENERGY. They are just another bunch of crooks. This video shows proof of the fraudlent bills & admission by Opus of fraudulent suppyl switch.
