It took me about five attempts to purchase a gift and I had to use a credit card, Paypal wouldn't work.

I had to try 4 times in order to successfully pay, because of some rules on the phone line.

I dislike that there are only two methods of payment; by paypal or creditcard. I feel like the website is trying to force people to use paypal, especially since you get an email from paypal suggesting that very thing. That brings me to the next objection: the amount of emails I have received from patchwork and/or paypal after my payment. I made my payment less than an hour ago and have received four emails thus far. I sincerely hope you haven't silently added my to a spamlist, but I suspect you have. At the very least you have retained my information, as I can sign this review with my own name. You should warn people what information you are storing from them, why and for how long. And what you are going to do with the information you (have to!) fill in. It's sad really, as the concept of the website is great.

Hi Moira, Thanks for taking the time to write us a review. We understand that some people might like other options to make contributions other than cards and Paypal. We are currently looking into how we could add different payment options and will have Stripe very soon. We do email you a receipt and Paypal also email you to let you know your money has safely arrived in your friend's Paypal account. We keep your name and email address so your friend's know what you have contributed towards their Patchwork. We certainly will never sell or give away your personal information! Site was fine - payment process was awful. Why does it push you to use PayPal. Fields are not flagged as mandatory. Result was having to do payment 5 times and turn down option for paypal more than once.

Thanks so much for taking the time to review us. We agree that Paypal don't make it very easy to pay with a card so we are currently integrating a new payment system which will make a huge difference for people contributing with a card. Watch this space! Carlie

When doing first search on site I couldn't find friends set up thing, so on home page I tried with space & without etc, still didn't work, then clicked on wedding page & still couldn't find patch, then realised I wasn't searching in the right place. Tried a few times to make payment with Paypal & it didn't work & no reason given as to why it couldn't be processed. Was a real pain as also had to re-write message. So in summary I think your site is patchy & needs patching up but I don't intend to waste anymore time looking around it.

Hello there, We do have a 'find a friend' button on the homepage if your friends don't provide their personal patchwork URL. I have just tested your friends names to check all is working and they came up top of the list so I'm sorry you struggled. I'm also sorry you had problems with PayPal at the checkout but I can see you've made a successful payment to your friends patchwork. So I'm glad you got there in the end! All the best, Carlie

Mobile site didnt work, transaction wouldn't go through and I had to repeatey write my message and reenter card details several times as the site didnt remember them. Went over to the desktop site and it worked ok. Tiresome to have to click on each square to see the amount

The page kept scrolling up to the top whenever I moved the mouse over most of the icons. That made it kind of hard to use. It did look pretty though.

It would have been nice to have the option to part fund one of the more expensive items on the list. Either that or the ability to just give an amount for them to then allocate towards an item of their choice.
