“I enjoyed your website, but one thing I felt was missing or wasn't clear, is whether my gift paid the total or only a part of what I ordered (cutlery set). It would be good to know what the total for something like that (a set item) is, and once it is paid for, should it not go off the list? Otherwise, if something is still available yet paid for, what would my gift money go towards?? Just wondering...thanks!”

Hi Celia, Thanks for your review and also for your very good questions! I'm very happy to answer them and explain a little more about Patchwork. So, as you probably know, all the items and prices are set by the creator of the patchwork. Because each 'patch' can only been funded in its entirety (ie you can't break it down it to smaller contributions) many couples like to price something like a cutlery set (which may cost say £120) at a lower amount, enabling one, two or more people to fund it. Creators are also able to limit the amount of times this patch can be funded. So if they've set that limit to three, once three people have funded, and they have received their £120 they can purchase the cutlery set. Creators can see who has funded what - so are able to thank guests in a personal way for their specific contribution. Alternatively however, it is possible that the creator may choose to put that money towards something else. It's also possible that they have left the patch open to receive unlimited contributions and in this situation they may decide that can buy the cutlery set and one of their other gifts too! Patchwork does give complete control and flexibility to the creator to spend the funds as they choose. I hope this helps to explain the concept a bit more.
