The spices and recipes are lots of fun. You are getting a 3 rating because you shipped an order to me $3.27 cents postage due. I sent it back.

We really enjoy the recipes and spices! We we just wish that we could buy bigger packages of spices for the ones that we like.

Not happy with company. No tracking and no live contact with a human possible. Shipping software is available that automatically e-mails tracking to client.

We appreciate how quickly you get the first packet out, but the email telling our friends what was coming and who it was from never made it to them. This happened when we were gifted last year with Piquant Post. The Post arrives, but with no explanation. Not sure what or why the delay in sending the email. BTW the recipes and herb/spice mixes are terrific!!

Hi Reah, thanks for the feedback. We reviewed your recent gift order to see what happened. It appears that you entered 2 email addresses in the gift recipient email field separated by a semi-colon. This was treated as a single email by our software and so clearly was an invalid email address. So the message wasn't sent. As a tiny company, we have custom built an email message application but cannot predict all bugs and edge cases. We fix ones as we encounter them (this is the first time we've seen someone enter 2 emails in the field). But we will notify our software support team to not allow users to enter 2 or even 1 invalid email in the gift message field. We appreciate you alerting us as that is how we improve.

The recipients of the gift never received an email to let them know what, and who was sending the gift. Or that it will come once a month. They received the first month delivery. They haven’t tried it yet

Hi Donna, Thanks for your feedback. Sorry your gift recipient didn't see the gift message email from us. We reviewed our gift message software logs and confirmed the email was sent to your recipient on the date you selected. It's possible your gift recipient missed it as the email provider can put the email into a folder not checked (promotions, junk, spam, etc). Please ask your recipient to search their email on Dec 8th for a message from us and I'm confident he will find it.

Hi Kelli, Happy to assist. We reviewed your order to see if there was any errors. I see we mailed your gift order on Dec 9th as specified at the time of purchase. The gift should have arrived awhile ago. However, we see you didn't enter a gift message or gift recipient email at the time of purchase. (it appears you deleted the gift message out of the cart) As posted on our site, the gift message email is the only notification of your gift to the recipient. So, your recipient likely doesn't know you sent the gift as there is no printed notice in the first shipment. We recommend you contact your gift recipient to let them know you sent this gift. We're working to improve our gift email system to not allow you to make a gift purchase without entering in a valid recipient email.

Must plan ahead for this as a gift. Order filling and shipping takes a long time. Was asked to make a review before even receiving a product. Still hoping this is enjoyable and looking forward to yummy meals ahead.

The recipes are fine in that I probably wouldn't just happen upon them in my online searches and they're pretty east. However, in my first couple month's shipments, multiple seasoning packets sent didn't have enough for the amounts indicated in the recipes included. The others had *just* enough, which is fine. In my experience with other seasoning type services or companies, they will send a little more than is needed so you can try it maybe in your own recipes or add more than a recipe calls for, making it more likely you'll want to get more. I'd be happy with enough to cover 1 try at the recipe included. Canceling as this doesn't seem like a valuable service for the cost. Disappointed as I was really looking forward to this shipment each month. Important to note: I was offered replacements for the spices I was shorted - great! For us specifically, we already try a lot of variety & know several unique spice places so we plan to stick to those for now. This is a good option to try out if you're newer to cooking or just starting to branch out and want more recipes.

I sent this as a gift to my son for Father's Day. I was never notified or was able to track his package and not even sure he received the email notifying him of a gift. I spoke with him today and learned that he did already receive his first package but never got an email notifying him of the gift. I originally received this as a gift from him and thoroughly enjoyed it so I thought he would too. If I didn't have a positive experience with my own gift subscription, there would be less stars.

Hi Annette, thanks for your feedback. Our IT staff are looking into whether your son was sent a gift email. Apologies in advance that he didn't see a gift message email from us. It's an automated system and if we find a bug we will fix it. To clarify what's posted on our website in our shipping policy, we mail the monthly subscriptions via USPS first class mail (snail mail to your mailbox) and there is no tracking on these for US recipients. Recipients typically receive their orders 1-2 weeks after we mail them depending on the distance from CA. thanks for the feedback!

Selection and recipes are great. Lowered rating because spices are only offered in 1 oz packs. Larger sizes should be offered rather than a single serving package.

Not sure of the full value anymore since there are other competitors such as hello fresh with better deals. Price point is expensive already and shipping out of US does not get totalled until after check out even if you are on the Canadian website. I only saw the total price once it had been converted in my bank statement but nowhere on the website does it give you the correct amount even with Canadian shipping on it. Very frustrating and disappointing. I had previously purchased a subscription package years before and received a coupon code in my email. When I went to sign into my account the websites were disconnected. My old account was on an older website where I could not make a new order. When I signed up on a new account I could not get the coupon code to work because it was attached to my old account. I wanted to cancel my subscription after I saw the price total but I had already given it as a gift. I would not recommend this to anyone. The price does not match any competitors and the value is not there.

Hi Jacob and Olivia, we are so sorry you were disappointed with your latest gift purchase. We indeed launched a new website on a new ecommerce platform called Shopify, the industry leader, which allowed us to create a lot more customer features. The new website does allow you to see a shipping cost estimate before you checkout and pay. I'm sorry you missed that cost review in your cart. We emailed you a purchase receipt after checkout which gives yet another opportunity to see the total cost and then decide if you want a full refund before we ship. I reviewed your old purchase from 2019 and see that you were charged international shipping then, too. Since that time, we have had to raise our international shipping rates 30% because international shipping costs have gone up by the same amount. We actually subsidize the cost of international shipping, so not only do not make money on it but we lose a couple dollars per month. I wish international shipping was cheaper but it is only getting more expensive. Please contact us if you want a refund and we'd be happy to issue a prorated refund for unshipped orders.

Spices may be good but it’s a terrible website for gift giving. No way to set delivery date or time. Recipient got Christmas present last week even though I asked for a 12/25 email. Will keep looking for better web experience

Too expensive for what it is. My daughter bought me a subscription, have been missing recipes from it. Spices are way cheaper at the coop.

I am not sure about the first months delivery because it it meant to work with meat my partner does not eat. I perhaps would do better picking my own spice blends. Will see what happens when I cook.

Confusing website, recipes don’t seem to have been proof-read, they say they have vegetarian and gluten free options on their website but they are difficult to locate. I’d say wait a year until the company has worked out the kinks.

I like the spice packets, but the recipes are fairly complicated and require a lot of time and additional ingredients to make. It'd be great if they included alternative recipes to make, maybe a "weeknight" option for each spice mix.

Most of the spices and recipes were Piquant proprietary, I was hoping for individual spices you can buy at the store and associated recipes from exotic countries and advertised. So, I have no need for this service.
