“Good quality training material in a well laid out course. Studying at my own pace and at times that I found convenient was very beneficial when trying to fit a training course in around work and home responsibilities. The support provided through the training was excellent.”

“Overall I am satisfied with the course as I gained some applicable knowledge from studying the modules. Unfortunately I did not feel very supported and felt that much of the programme was disorganised. It would have been beneficial to be able to map my course across a year, there isn't really the option to do this, meaning that each time a module ended I had to request the next module to be uploaded. On a few occasions this process took over a week, preventing me beginning studying. A number of times the study platform would crash; a technical fault, but as the courses are primarily distance learning, this was extremely frustrating, especially when I would have allocated time from my employer to study each week. If the system was down during this time this meant trying to fit in my studying elsewhere. Additionally I often came to exams feeling unprepared; my first exam (keyboard skills development), I was asked if I had my selected text that I would be typing out. Not only had I never been directed to the book that this text came from, I was not aware that I should have selected (or been given) a text that I would be using in my assessment. I had to choose a text on the spot. Of course if I had been able to practice this text I would have received a better wpm grade! I think that some of the modules are outdated and need updating. More guidance and advice should be offered as to what is available to students in terms of resources and support from the Pitman team. On the up side Patricia and Suzan (both Course Supervisors) were helpful and generally quick to respond. They were apologetic when things didn't go quite to plan, things out of there control, and were good at booking in my exams and accommodating any changes.”

“I like the quality of the study aids, I.ei.e workbook, voiceover which can be paused and replayed easily, the interactive quizzes and slide presentations. Always someone available in the office to provide help if needed”

“I love training with Pitmans as the staff in Taunton are fabulous and help to motivate me. I feel in safe hands as they guide me through what I need to do and are always offering support as I have to fit my studies into a very busy schedule. I’m still doing many courses with them there and I would highly recommend them to anyone I know. I feel positive that when I’ve completed my two diplomas that I will not find it difficult to get a job in my field.”

“I enjoy home studying and so this was the perfect way for me to learn Speedwriting through Pitman Training. It was the perfect balance of working at my own pace whilst also having a 3 month deadline to work to. I was also pleased with the level of support I received during my studying and having all my questions answered very quickly whenever I needed clarification on something I wasn't sure of.”

“I am 'old school' and struggled with on-line training. I was slower than other candidates and felt pressured. I did not finish within time scale on the day but was able to complete it at a later date, in my own time and passed!”

“I always choose Pitman Training when I am looking to update my skills. Consistently good content and easy to follow courses and I love the flexibility of either studying at home or being able to go into the centre for extra help. I also find that potential employers recognise Pitman Training as a quality training provider and are impressed to see Pitman in my CV.”

“Both Carla and Simon are very helpful! Both there when I need them or when i come in last minute etc. Very flexible with times which helps me with my work. Would definitely recommend doing a course through Pitman training!”
