“Avoid!! They are good at taking your money but there is no support afterwards. The exams are not taken in a quiet room. Poor setup, dirty computers, and no help when you are stuck. You have to chase them to upload the exam for marking and they don’t even send the certificates when you pass. Also the centre closes early when it states clearly that they are open till 8pm. I would never recommend Pittman’s. they also said that you can extend for free if you have not completed the course but they had the nerve to charge when I extended. I couldn’t complete the course due to personal circumstances but they did not chase me once, it’s appalling. I paid a lot of money for this course and i would never use this company again. You are better of studying with another company or going to college in the evening.”

“Due to Covid, and no Computer or printer at home. I was unable to complete my course. Not once did the centre get in touch we me over the period from March up to August. It was I, who did the emailing. So now, I am out of pocket, of the fee I paid and with no completion of my course. This course, was taken, so I could help update my skills, to return back to the work place, so was my CV amended with the same details, to which I need to resubmit to all the agencies omitting Pitman course. If anybody is thinking of paying out a lot of money to do one of these course, I would think again, if something like this happens again and you unable to complete your course at home, you are in trouble, as no fee will be refunded.”

“Although the modules, that make up the diploma, were relatively interesting, I feel that they do not represent anywhere near value for money. Indeed there truly was nothing imparted that could not have been picked up by reading a £20 book on the subject. To date I have not made any money from my learning with Pitman despite my efforts to gain meaningful employment. I feel like i was sold a dream, everything they told me about “walking into employment” after gaining these qualifications is a big fat lie. £2500 for absolutely nothing, take it from me Don't waste your money.”

“Its overpriced for what it is. Be careful everyone I’ve spend £1700 there and looking back now I wouldn’t spend that money on the material I was given and staff wasn’t always helpful when I needed them”

“I attended a Pitman Centre for a Synoptic AAT Exam. Their setup is poor with very small screens - not ideal for spreadsheets - and a lot of candidates crammed into a small room. Biggest problem, however, was with their lack of competence to conduct the exam. I had a problem uploading answers but the invigilator had left the room(!!). She then advised me incorrectly meaning that my exam didn't get uploaded. Pitman's then failed to follow AAT procedures to send the exam up to AAT, lied about what had happened and tried to cover their back by accusing me of abuse! Their head office are only interested in helping cover up what happened. Pitman Training come across as unprofessional, dishonest and uncaring so long as they get your money. This situation could have been easily resolved according to AAT but Pitman's incompetence in failing to follow simple procedures prevented this. If you are considering training of this sort look elsewhere - there are plenty of more able suppliers.”

“I never took a remote training before but i will highly recommend Pitman training (Devon and Cornwall). My instructors Samantha and Magdalena really helped me through the duration of the course. They were ever ready to make my journey smooth and as a result i could pass my HR Diploma without any problems. Thank you Sam and Magdalena for guiding me in this journey.”

“I took a course with Pitman years ago to become a secretary, they promised assisted during the course but i was left for hours sometimes with no one to help me. They only have couple people to assist students. I lost about £3.000 pounds because it was difficult for me so i end up leaving half way trough. They never gave my money back after I complained about how unhappy i was with the course.”

“I started my executive pa course in Stratford in October & to date I have never had a phone call to see who my progress was. They were quick to take my money but not really follow up with any solid training or care. I once went into the centre a few mouths after I started to find a girl eating crisps & her dinner at her desk!! It was very unprofessional & off putting to say the least. I would only recommend this centre if you are happy to just not have any help/ contact with a tutor but I still think this is a very poor way to run a training centre. Not great!!”

“The course was really quite expensive for what it was; £600 for about a 40 page workbook which was easy to breeze through and that was the advanced course. The training provider seems very keen to sell the product and quite uninterested in providing ongoing support.”

“I would highly recommend pitman training if you are looking to further your skills. All of the staff were so helpful throughout my time studying. Nikki is amazing if you need any support and Dean is great at motivating you throughout. The Ipswich team have been so great during this difficult time, the staff are always there to answer any questions and organise your exams at home. It’s been a pleasure studying with Pitman’s Ipswich and I am leaving with many new skills and confidence in myself.”

“2019 I decided to update and upgrade myself as I was planning to go back to work and want my CV to do the talking. I searched different online courses but Pitman training stood out. I book an appointment and met Sally at the Canterbury centre she was so warm and welcoming talk me thru different options but want me to go for what I want. Less than a year after I have Diploma in Administrative Assistant. It is so convenient as you can study anywhere at your own time. It was money well spent. All the staff at Canterbury and Maidstone centre are so good and are always checking on you to know how you are doing with your course. Trust me you won’t regret it. Thank you Sally, Lucy, Tracie and Fern.”

“Pitman Greenwich - AVOID!!!!! The worst experiece ever. They were all over me before I sing in and then I was let to myself. It's a money making organisation, if you wont pass the exam it's very hard to get clear feedback. It feels like they want you to fail so you will have to pay for retake. Very unprofesional service with rude attitude.”

“They try to sell you the most expensive course, when you go to meet a career councillor. It’s very much a money oriented system. There are far better courses elsewhere for less than half the price of Pitman’s. Stay clear”

“Enquired twice and haven’t received a call back, I called twice and was left on hold for up to 2 hours and still no one answered but every time they cut me off. It’s been 2 weeks since I enquired! Why is there no response!”

“Greenwich centre over priced course. Refuse to refund difference. Called other centre's and they all priced the HR course at 1,800 but Greenwich have claimed it's 3,400. Did complain but customer service don't care nor do the staff at Greenwich. Go to a local authority run education center if you want value for money and a good service. Given course content you may as well buy the books for dummies! Don't use this company. Con men”

“I emailed the Hammersmith training centre about prices for exams. They emailed me back confirming £90 which i naturally queried, as the AAT site says £45. The training provider replied "As this seems to be an issue for you,, I would suggest another exam centre." I am a resident in the Hammersmith area, so the location of this test centre would have been beneficial. I have 5 module exams to sit L3 and then L4, so they have just missed out on a potential new customer due to lack of customer service. I hope you appreciate exams are overwhelming for students and the whole process isn't that enjoyable. For a test centre provider such as Pitman Training, i would expect warm, friendly and informative staff and not making potential customers feel like an inconvenience.”

“Went down Swansea to do an exam and it couldn’t concentrate because people walking in for a conversation and boiling the kettle disrupting you, not very sociable staff either, compared to the Cardiff centre it was terrible. Cardiff was a 10/10, Swansea needs to change.”

“I have just completed the foundation diploma in accounting with Pitman training. My experience has been a positive one from start to finish. Initially, I was uncertain which course was right for me, but the team in the Cardiff office offered great guidance and advice. They have been hugely supportive throughout, even now after my course has finished. I would recommend them to others, and will definitely return to continue my accounting studies.”
