“This is one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. All for a phone case that probably cost 20 cents to make and costs $40.
I ordered on 7/16 and noticed a few hours later it somehow had the wrong shipping address. I admit fault by not reviewing the order although that’s never happened to me before since I haven’t lived at that address in over a decade.
Anyways, I reached out to PopSocket through their website a few hours after the order was placed. I was hoping for a resolution. Instead, I got an email on 7/17 from Marion, customer advocate manager, starting with an intro with the usual corporate response but also stating “Your order has been processed too far for us to change the address”. It’s been roughly 24 hours.
The other options were to either retrieve it from the wrong address or hope the people who live there return it back to PopSocket unless it gets shipped back on its own. Are you kidding me? It’s 2025 and there’s no process in place for this? I can’t imagine I’m the only person that’s done this no accident. The best part is I didn’t receive a shipping confirmation email until 7/21. Based on when that shipping confirmation email came in, it seems crazy to me there is literally no way to stop or correct it on their end beforehand.
I reached out to USPS and had to pay an additional $27 for package interception and go pick it up at a post office instead. Why did I pay $27? Because there was a high chance I wouldn’t be able to get it from the previous address, which means I would be out $40 anyways.
I’ve been on customer service side of things for most of my life and I’m currently a senior / lead in a customer facing role. I would never present the options that were listed to me in that email. We also have this scenario happen with customers at my job and we have a few work arounds because of how often this happens. We didn’t use to, but due to the increased volume of this happening my company pivoted and put systems in place to mitigate issues for all parties involved. I will NEVER buy from this company again. $40 for a piece of plastic and this is the type of customer service you receive. Insane.”
“The WORST brand to buy. I have purchased 2 in the last 7 days, sticking them only after throughly cleaning the case. Neither one lasted 4 hrs. They suddenly pop off while simply scrolling. My device isn't even warm (to soften the adhesive), nor have I not been gentle about it, especially on the 2nd go. Scotch tape would be just as effective. I'm returning the other 2 backups purchased.”
“It took over a month for my popsocket wallet to ship. They sent an email saying they would refund it for the trouble. It's been over 2 months and they have totally ghosted me without the refund. What a scam.”
“First of all, my items were sent ‘signature required’. Perhaps this is the norm, but I happened to be out of town for 2 weeks so my local UPS store returned it to Popsockets. (Signature required…really? For 3 items made of plastic?) I will say the customer service rep was kind when I contacted him to explain and ask for my order to be re-shipped. It took another 6 days to receive my order. By now it had been 4 weeks since I placed my original order, so I decided to buy only a popwallet from Amazon; that took 2 days. As others have said, the ONLY way to communicate with customer service is via email, and responses take at least one day. Even worse, in order to return items you must give a reason for your return in addition to a photo of the item. Finally, the company does not provide return labels…you’re on your own. I enjoy using the magsafe pop grip and pop wallet, but I won’t order from the company ever again. Not worth the aggravation.”
“Wish that I could give negative stars. Did not receive what I ordered. They had actually sent me a email with the picture of what I ordered and it was correct. Not at all what I received. Customer service is a joke. Basically said nothing could be done. Then would not answer any more inquiries. No way to actually speak to someone. Phone numbers provided lead to dead ends. Never again. Worst customer service ever. Waste of a significant amount of money for me.”
“Terrible "service". No way to call or email, only an online form. Got confirmation emails on my order and nothing seemed legit. The "Tracking number" had no link to a site and just referenced some Hermesworld which I have never heard of. Cant find any information to see what happened to my order that was supposedly delivered. When I contacted customer service they said "Oh, maybe we can send you a replacement" and then gave me a completely wrong address in the wrong country. Its very frustrating and if not resolved soon I will report as fraud as it seems very fishy!!”
“Terrible product for how much they charge. So flimsy and poorly made. The grip didn't even last a day. Plus they steal smaller designers designs. Customer service is appalling. Honestly don't waste your money. There's better made and cheaper products out there from smaller businesses I.e on etsy.”
“Would not send me the confirmation code for my payment. I used my other card and it did not even ask for a payment. Also I’m here’s no way to track you package? Not to be inappropriate but this website could use some updates”
“Horrible customer service. Please don’t buy from this place because they are needing money more than any other company. I ordered a popsocket that didn’t even want to stick to my case and asked for a return. I was interrogated like no other by asking to take pictures of their adhesive, my own phone case, define if it’s silicone or not for $16. I finally was fed up and told them to keep my donation because they apparently are needing the $16 more than I do. They will make it extremely difficult to return anything. Stay away. You have been warned as of 12/28/2020. Rep was Jonathan.”
