As an independent musician releasing a new single and going on the road, I decided to get some merchandise to help with promotion: caps and bumper stickers. I chose Promotion Products based on online reviews. Unfortunately I wasn't happy with the experience. I was up in a remote part of Cape York trying to process the order with very limited connectivity. The process seemed very drawn out and overly complex for what we were doing - multiple emails and phone calls, often covering the same ground. The standard sticker size was 50mm but I was looking for 80mm. This was discussed and agreed more than once and it's what I signed off on the order form. Admittedly the deadline was tight - as I had a big show coming up - and I was happy that Promotion Products could meet it. As I was traveling I had the products delivered to my cousin's house close to where I was going to be playing. The caps were delivered to the house and dropped without anybody being home, while for some reason the stickers weren't. I liaised with my contact at Promotion Products however and they managed to arrange for the stickers to be left at the local post office. It was inconvenient to do a second pick-up on a busy day and when I eventually got them, they were 50mm instead of 80mm. I was so disappointed - with my show happening the next day especially as we'd spent so long agreeing the size in advance. My contact admitted the mistake was theirs, which was something. However, she was slow to agree to reprint and send out the correct stickers, which I had ordered and paid for, until/unless I agreed to pay extra to keep the smaller ones, which I had zero interest in or send them back the incorrect batch (1000 stickers), which would have been useless to the company - although when I pointed this out, I was told they would be used as samples rather than dumped...I wonder? If nothing else as a gesture of goodwill, I felt they could have offered me to keep a small number for my event since I had nothing else. They also expected I would go out of my way to arrange to get them back to them. I was really shocked at the level of customer service, having read positive reviews before I dealt with them. It was certainly very far from my experience. I arranged for the wrong stickers to be collected and the stickers I actually ordered arrived a couple of weeks later, by which time I was back on the road. It was over a month later when I actually got them. The quality of the stickers - and the caps seems good hence the two stars. I was really disappointed with the customer service and will not be doing any more business with the company in future.
