We had a wonderful week with Quasar. The guides were all very informative and helpful, the food was excellent and the staff were all great. The boat was clean and well equipped. Couldn't have been better.

My partner and I recently sailed the Western Galapagos Islands on Quasar Expedition's M/V Evolution and we were simply blown away by the whole experience - from booking to cruising! Like most people, we were somewhat nervous about plunking down a significant sum of money without really knowing what to expect. Outstanding reviews about the company and the boat certainly helped but having an opportunity to actually speak to Diane and Paul, the company's US based managers, and clarify our many questions about everything from flights to daily itinerary was a huge factor in our choosing the company. Any company that works with potential clients, like Paul and Diane did, had to be great, right? Not necessarily, you may be thinking. But, Quasar Ex really is exceptional and the proof of that really was our onboard experience. We had an amazing time on the Evolution. The guides that led our group - Roberto and Hernan - were outstanding and easily lived up to our rather high standards (both my partner and I are scientists). We thoroughly enjoyed our days, jam-packed as they were with snorkelling, swimming, and hiking. My partner refers to the cruise as one amazing science field trip. Cruise connotes lounging by the pool. This ain't that kind of a cruise! Sure, individuals were welcome to skip any of the activities and relax/nap out the comfy couches in the open, breezy lounge on the top deck or in the hot tub - and yes, we did all that too but we made it a point to be in on all the activities. Who would have wanted to miss an opportunity to swim with the incredibly curious sea lion pups, penguins, octopi, turtles and giant rays, or watch blue-footed boobies catch their prey underwater, or be blown away by the unearthly landscape of Sullivan Bay lava field? The crew of M/V Evolution - from the captain to the cruise director to the onboard doctor to the panga drivers were all focused on one goal...to make this the trip of a lifetime for us. And this extended beyond the activities to include the onboard food and general cleanliness of the passenger quarters and the boat as a whole. I have to admit that I was particularly concerned about these two. I worried pointlessly. Our rooms were cleaned several times a day and the food onboard was excellent. Yes, expect a fair amount of seafood but if you have special requests (like my partner did), the crew/company will go out of its way to meet them. They actually anticipate the passengers' needs and had juices and snacks ready at precisely the right times. And what was even more impressive is that Steve, our cruise director, actually had memorized each persons needs (dietary or otherwise) and would alert/direct the passengers even before anyone needed to asked. I learnt that once when they had a person onboard with nut allergies, the whole boat was scrubbed down and there was not a nut to be found the entire week. We were very fortunate to have a remarkable group of people sailing with us. And we are very fortunate to have the opportunity to make their acquaintances. As good as the trip was, having outstanding company to share the experiences with just makes it all the more special. After reading the above, I can imagine many of you saying, "yeah, sure...but nothing can be perfect. There must have been something that wasn't quite spot on." And indeed there was. Bring a sweater or some cover-up to breakfast, lunch and dinner. With the air conditioners blasting cold air, we were chilled. In our own rooms, we had the option of turning the heat up but in the dining room, it took a bit of cajoling to do the same. Actually, many of us would have preferred to eat most of our meals (instead of just a couple) in the outdoor dining area - it was lovely out there in early March (2017) when we sailed. And, be prepared to be disconnected from your internet umbilical cord. The boat has no internet service. This, we thought was a great idea. But on the two days that the boat sailed close to the inhabited islands and it was possible to pick up cell signal, we would all have appreciated a couple of hours of wifi to be able to send quick messages to loved ones to let them know just how much we were enjoying ourselves, and confirm that they too were okay. Sure, the above complaints may seem petty and trivial but that just goes to show how wonderful a time we had onboard that we have dig deep down to find faults.

Diane and Paul value customer service...personal, authentic, complete caring for our satisfaction and pleasure for our travel experience. Galapagos cruise aboard M/Y Grace was fantastic but even more so because of Quasar and staff. Upfront with Diane, during with Ecuador ground staff and then after with Paul's attention to detail and support. We are seasoned travelers, with adventures around the world...this experience with Quasar ranks at the top. Try, enjoy Quasar for yourself. You'll see.

The crew of the historic ship M/Y Grace and our guide Roberto were dedicated professionals that went out of their way to ensure their guests were well taken care of and that the agenda and activities were superior. It was nice being on a smaller ship - we had more flexibility to do things and do things quicker. It was a special experience being able to be so close to so many precious species of animals and plants. Our guides knowledge was impressive. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and really look forward to taking our grandchildren when they are older.

The MY Grace is a lovely ship. The crew and the guides were excellent. The whole Galapagos trip was totally memorable. Quasar also arranged a trip for us to La Selva Ecolodge that was amazing and the Casa Gangotena in Quito was wonderful.

We have just returned from a trip to Quito, La Selva Lodge and the Galapagos from November 30th to Dec 16th. We had the trip of a lifetime. We, unfortunately, cannot provide the names of all the people we interacted with in Quito. From the gentlemen who picked us up and took us back to the airport on numerous occasions to the lady who took us on a very informative four-hour walking tour of old Quito, and to the staff of the Casa Gangotena. The trip to La Selva Eco Lodge at the headwaters of the Amazon River was incredible and our guides Edwin and Henry worked hard to make it unforgettable. They allowed us time to take photos and imparted an incredible amount of knowledge about the area, the birds, other animals and mammals. The piranha fishing was a once in a lifetime thrill. The lodge itself is wonderful and the whole experience was better than anything we had anticipated. Once we returned to Quito, the staff at the Casa Gangotena went out of their way to have our laundry done before we left the next day for the Galapagos. The hotel itself is lovely. On our arrival at the Island of Baltra we were met by our guides from the M/Y Grace, Alex and Carolina. These two are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate people. The crew of the Grace were wonderful, I don’t remember all their names, but all should be told that they made our trip and have made us want to return to do the south west itinerary. Joseph, the manager, was well organized and made the trip seamless, Julio, the barkeep among all other jobs, seemed tireless, the chef created amazing dishes, Freddie and Pablo, the drivers of the boats to the Islands, were very skilled and the Captain who never seemed to sleep was obviously firmly in charge of all. The ship itself is lovely. Our heartfelt thanks to the company and all of the staff for this unforgettable experience.

From the time of first booking the trip to the Galapagos to leaving the M/V Evolution, Quasar could not have provided a more efficient or thoughtful service. Their recommendation for the Wyndham Hotel in Guayaquil was solid. The size of the ship was optimal, I thought, especially as our fellow passengers were a genial bunch. It was comfortable, the crew were professional and the meals were enjoyable. The day tours were conceived to show the maximum amount of the wonderful islands, and our nature guides were superb.

My Grace is the only way to see the Galapagos. The crew are customer service pro’s and catered to our every want, including arranging a spontaneous wedding with cake, music, and the captain marring the couple. Our guides were extremely knowledgeable and fun. I was especially impressed with receiving a personal tour of the Darwin Center when my husband was unable to walk the distance required on the regular tour. The combination of the amazing destination, beautiful yacht, the expert crew, the guides, and the guests we shared our trip with made this a trip of a lifetime.

I cant say enough great things about Quasar. Every step was well planed. I never had to guess or worry about tickets or transportation. The guides and staff are wonderful. The two guides on the boat are a must for everyone. Raphael and Juan are outstanding. I noticed other tour companies and talked to guest that didn't even come close to the service received by Quasar. I cant wait to use Quasar again. Thank you for a vacation of a lifetime. Mark Miller

We found Quasar Expeditions online and we're glad we did. Excellent sales rep was very knowledgeable and responded very quickly. The cruise was wonderful. What an amazing experience! There is nothing else in the world like the Galapagos Islands. Seeing the wildlife on the Grace yacht made it that extra bit special. The boat has history and you can feel it. It's a nice size, much smaller than many of the other boats visiting the islands. This makes the whole experience feel more special. The smaller boat also means a better guide to passenger ratio. And just seeing the profile of the yacht from the distance was an uplifting sight...Far better than any modern fiberglass boat. The service from the crew was exceptional. Every member of staff enjoyed what they were doing, all requests were gladly managed by the team. The quality of the food from such a limited galley was amazing. Rapha, the head guide, was the best guide we've ever had on a tour. He was knowledgable, funny and enthusatic. Head office communication was responsive and helpful. There was loads of information available and provided. You pay a bit more than some other alternatives, but it defintely felt like we were getting value for money despite the higher cost. Would definitely recommend.

Quasar Expedition staff were attentive and really helpful in organising my trip to the Atacama Desert. They suggested I stay at the Alto Atacama Lodge which was a wonderful choice. I had a brilliant trip!

What an amazing adventure. I wasn't sure what to expect and I'm still not sure that I actually have the language to describe the voyage other than to say it was like visiting the Original Garden. Our naturalists were incredibly knowledgeable and made our excursions meaningful and fun; the crew catered not just to our "vacation" needs but also, literally, to our physical needs. I was very concerned for my 83 father's safety and the entire crew, including Captain Victor, took such great care of him, ensuring that he was able to participate as fully as he wanted in a safe manner, was above and beyond. The crew also took into account that a ten year old might feel a little out of place in a crowd of teenagers and adults, and they were so exceptionally kind to my nephew. A wonderful crew and if you ever need a nurse to go on any voyage, I'm your trusted Shellback :-) Thank you all again.

We had a fabulous trip to Galapagos on MV Evolution. We were impressed with the organisation and service. Excellent staff, the experience, knowledge and passion of the naturalist guides was exceptional, food really good ( only complaint there was too much, and lighter alternatives for lunch would be welcome). The itinerary was action packed which we enjoyed to get most out of our experience and the boat high standard of comfort. Thank you Quasar!
