W really put pressure on the Quasar resources when we booked our expedition and flights less that a week before the big trip. The Schicke's looked after everything with pleasant calm and smart efficiency. I was amazed that not a t was left uncrossed! We were met at the Quito, Ecuador Airport by a courteous and informative guide and taken directly to our luxurious lodgings at Cultura Manor where the owner, Lazlo is a consummate host. Treated to private dinners, driven for a night out at Peppas for live music and Ecuadorian food, walking distance to the local market and a journey to the center of the world filled four days in clean and friendly Quito. Even completely novice travellers can relax when given the care that we had. Flights to Galapagos were short and easy. "The Evolution", our beautiful 200 foot ship was the epitome of luxury and service. Top drawer in every way. The food was to die for both in Quito and on the ship as Ecuador has an immense bounty of fruits, vegs, meats and seafood all produced locally. Our excursions on land and water were delightful and memorable. Both guides created a passionate and knowledgeable experience. The snorkelling was my favourite activity and while the seas were not always crystal clear I achieved my dream of swimming with hammerheads and penguins. My adrenaline pumps and my knees go mushy just thinking of it!!! I would recommend this trip for anyone who is mobile. I would also do the same trip again … and again … and again!

Our experience with Quasar expeditions exceeded my expectations. Patagonia is stunningly beautiful, but the ins and outs of travelling between Chile and Argentina in order to see the best parts of it, would be daunting if attempted solo. Plus, given the distances that need to be covered, and the unpredictable weather conditions, having knowledgeable and personable guides in the jeep with us, to steer us toward the best experiences at the best times of day, added up to a top-notch trip.

Travelling with Quasar expeditions on the vessel Evolution was an amazing experience we will not forget. We were a little apprehensive to be on a boat for a week in close quarters with 30 people , however the vessel and crew made this a wonderful memorable experience. It was an action packed week due to the group largely being family’s with teenagers, but this made it great fun for us with no kids of our own . The food and drinks were ist class and by the weeks end we all felt like family. I do understand some groups can be older , so it is probably sensible to check the mix of passengers so you get no surprises. Quasar were very helpful and professional in every regard

I went aboard the M/V Grace and highly recommend it. The level of service was excellent, the accommodations and food were very good. To experience the Galapagos Islands with a group of just 15 people makes it even more precious. The guide Rafael was outstanding not only for his knowledge but also his enthusiasm about the islands. The island excursions and snorkeling where fantastic. Overall the experience exceed my expectations and highly recommend traveling with Quasar Expeditions.

We couldn't have asked for a better experience. From the staff to the naturalist, everyone was great - very helpful, accommodating, experienced, and knowledgeable. We didn't want it to end!

Excellent experience from the booking process to the actual cruise. We had a wonderful time, a huge thanks to the crew who went out of their way to make our trip a memorable experience, especially Edison our cruise director and Alex and Sam our guides who were extremely knowledgable, helpful and took lots of pictures for us. I can't sing all of your praises enough.

18 of our family and friends boarded the Grace for our Galapagos adventure. We had the most amazing time. Rafa and Walter were wonderful guides, planning our itinerary to avoid “eye pollution” as Rafa called it, so we had the most private experiences possible. For most of the trip, we felt like we were on private islands. The chef, Vicente, prepared fabulous dishes, we had tons of fun hanging at the bar with Saul, and I can’t forget the lovely Melissa and her soothing wake-up calls with soft music over the speakers. The crew were professional with Anderson making our beds multiple times a day like a phantom, the panga captains’ expertise in getting us to the islands. Last but not least, the Galapagos is a very special place. Snorkeling and playing with sea lions, seeing tons of turtles, sharks, fish, blue footed boobies, flamingos, iguanas, sting rays, tortoises, etc. The islands are also very different and beautiful with lush rainy weather on one and dry volcanic areas in others. The travel agent said the guides make or break the experience. Well, we had a once in a lifetime amazing experience, and we owe it to Quasar and M/Y Grace.

I have traveled all over the world and have worked with various tour operators, but nobody does it like Quasar Expeditions. Their product is just as impressive as their staff, and I can't wait to visit South America again so I can see more destinations through their tours! They are quick to accommodate any request, and I am drawn to their unique routes of exploration. Seeing the Galapagos via Grace Kelly's honeymoon yacht and adventuring through Patagonia in my very own Jeep at my own pace was luxury at its finest. I would recommend Quasar to anyone - and I have on many occasions!

We found everything to be excellent--the crew, the food, the itinerary and especially the guides. We're hoping to do it again in the not too distant future with even more family. One thing that would be nice is a list of passenger names (just first names would work) and maybe where they are from. If the passengers would be agreeable, it would really help in learning the 25+ names in shorter time. Sometimes we could remember one of the couple's names but not the other. Or we might remember where they were from but couldn't remember the names. (This is what happens when you are transporting mostly older people with shorter memories).

We are retired and fortunate to be able to travel often. We have not tried a group travel because we dislike scheduling activities, but rather enjoy flexibility in where, what & when we visit. Our daughter convinced us to go with her on a South American Quasar trip to Puerto Natales & Patagonia. Quasar exceeded our expectations with accommodations, flexibility in activities & actually opened up a new world of opportunities for us to consider as travel options. We would recommend them to anyone & everyone.

One of the best vacations our family has taken to date! Everyone at Quasar was so attentive and making sure everyone, no matter the ages, were happy every step of the way. Even the captain of the Evolution promised to snorkel with the children to make sure they felt safe. They couldn't stop smiling and laughing all week at all the different animals they got to swim with and also the lazy sea lions on the beaches. Highly recommend this trip to families of animal lovers!

Every aspect of the travel experience with Quasar to the Galapagos Islands was taken care of from day 1 with Paul! From recommendations of hotels, length of stay, what to pack, what to buy (big time shopper), printed boarding passes, private dining and transfer services were all handled professionally and timely. I enjoyed 2 beautiful nights in the colonial city of Quito with a guide and then boarded the M/V Evolution for a 7 night cruise with some of the most amazing passengers I have ever met! All amenities, activities and meals as advertised were spectacular. I will never forget the naturalist guides, Boli and Samuel, and the crew - they truly went above and beyond my expectations!

I cannot recommend Quasar's Galapagos cruise on the Evolution highly enough. My husband and I were first-time cruisers and the idea of cruising at all really put us off-- we typically like to have control over our plans, active schedules, flexibility, etc., but were told by many experienced travelers that the best way to see the Galapagos is by boat because of the scarcity and limitations on hotels. We are so glad we chose Quasar. Not only are the smaller ships (the Evolution has a maximum of 32 passengers) easier on the environment, but they also allow you to have a very personalized and intimate experience with the wildlife. We had 3 naturalist guides (all of whom had advanced degrees in biology, conservation, etc.) on our ship meaning we typically broke up into groups of about 10, and we very seldom ran into other groups or ships during excursions. Everybody was able to get up close to the incredible wildlife -- we saw sea lions, crabs, hammerhead sharks, white-tipped sharks, flamingos, penguins, sea turtles, tortoises, dolphins, iguanas, three types of boobies, other birds, tons of sea life, and I'm sure other things I'm forgetting. Everyday was packed with activities from snorkeling to short hikes to kayaking, etc. The small size of the ship also meant that we were able to be more flexible. For example, one day after lunch we saw in the far distance a pod of dolphins swimming by - the guides quickly leapt into action, told us to put our life jackets on, and we hopped into the dinghy boats to catch up to them. We spent 20-30 minutes riding alongside a pod of hundreds upon hundreds of dolphins, who were swimming, breaching, flipping, and playing alongside us. It was one of the most memorable experiences I have ever had in my life. I can't imagine a ship of 100+ passengers being able to do that. It wasn't on our schedule, but the guides really and truly were all about giving us the best experience ever and making sure we saw all that we could. In addition, the boat itself was beautiful and extremely well kept. They do an excellent job of keeping everything incredibly clean so that you feel comfortable walking around bare foot-- everybody's feet and shoes are hosed off after every excursion. The hot tub was also a very lovely amenity. Food was plentiful and fresh, and we were never served the same meal twice. The staff and crew were courteous and helpful and went above and beyond to ensure we all had a great time and were taken care of. I had very high expectations, but they were far exceeded by Quasar. I cannot recommend their Galapagos cruise enough.

It was a wonderful experience booking through Quasar. They were helpful from the very beginning, helping navigate through all the different options. The prices were competitive. The trip itself was phenomenal, truly the trip of a lifetime. Would highly recommend to anyone.

This was an incredible, one in a lifetime experience. Galapagos is a special, special place. The nature is beautiful, diverse and unique and animals allow humans to enjoy them in such close proximity that it is hard to comprehend unless you see it with your own eyes. In addition to it our time on Grace was fantastic. From the crew professionalism, friendliness, flexibility and eagerness to accomodate, to the history and stylishness of the boat to the great food. It was an experience to never forget. Special thanks to great guides we had Rafa and Walter. The wealth of knowledge and their patience and willingness to show, explain and answer questions is greatly appreciated. They went above and beyond all expectations. Now one and only complaint. We wanted to purchase a Grace shirt for the memory, but it was not available. In fact there was no suvenirs to take home with Grace emblem

We had a wonderful time! The ship was well kept, the crew were welcoming and the cruise director, Deborah did an outstanding job making sure we had a good time and our needs were met. The naturalists, Bolivar and Walter, were nice and knowledgeable and they did their best to find us everything we wanted to see. It's nice to see them with cameras too because it feels like they haven't become jaded with the wonders that they're showing us. The food was outstanding (we had a guest chef from Spain who was wonderful), and the cabin guy really did a super job making sure the cabins and such were well cared for. As well as the rest of the crew that no one gets to see, but who make sure everything works! I can't wait to take the other tour going the other direction, and I can't imagine doing it on any other ship, either.
