“Trip of a lifetime aboard the Grace in January 2023, with my best friend and 12 of my now new best friends! Stayed in cabin A3, which was completely removed from engine and anchor noise, just the white noise of the air conditioning and the rocking of the sea to lull us to sleep. Didn't need help with that, as we were exhausted at the end of every day from the adventuring! The crew was top-notch, attentive and friendly and happy to help with everything we needed (we didn't need much). They were all happy to help me practice my Spanish, but when words failed I was able to speak English with everyone. Ariana, Renan, David, Alejandro and Washington kept us well-fed, happily bedded and hydrated for all of our activities. Captain Israel and his team kept the boat in tip-top shape and on schedule, while our pangeros ferried us safely to every on-island and snorkeling/kayaking adventure. Naturalist guides Cornelia and Monica were as knowledgeable as I could have hoped for, about the island geology, wildlife biology, and history of these beautiful islands, plus happy and energetic and the loveliest women I have ever met. I would not have traded anything to be on a larger boat, the Grace was the perfect size: 16 guests meant enough people for a new seating arrangement at every meal, but small enough that we were never more than eight in a group when hiking, snorkeling, or booby-viewing. Quasar's luxury touches like fresh fruit juice and pastries after every morning excursion, clean and well-kept wetsuits and snorkel gear, towels to help keep bums and feet dry in the pangas and on the beach, and 3x per day room tidying made us feel like Princess Grace herself. I would have gained 20 pounds from all of the delicious, fresh, locally inspired food if it weren't for all of the early rising and nonstop action! This boat had five guests in their 20's and 30's, four people in their 50's, and five in their 60's. Everyone seemed to be able to enjoy exactly the right amount of activity for their comfort level, and everyone from the hardcore birders/photographers to the relaxed turtle-gazers had a wonderful adventure. (I would describe myself as an adventurous, hardcore wildlife and nature enthusiast, biologist by training, and this trip lived up to my expectations in every way). I booked my own flights to and from Ecuador, as well as my accommodations and airport transfers in Quito. But a local Quasar representative contacted me at the hotel the day before our flight to the islands, confirming our airport travel arrangements and flight times and assuring me that we would be greeted at the Quito airport to begin our "last mile" journey to the islands. Five stars all around, A plus, highly recommend.”

“Everything on our Galapagos cruise on the Evolution was amazing. I expected giant tortoises and blue-footed boobies. But I did not expect snorkeling with penguins, sea lions, and sea turtles. It was all made possible by the amazing crew. Thank you.”

“Quasar offered the best tours of the Galapagos, both an eastern route and a western one; and the best crew to passenger ratios. The crew on our tour, which had 16 passengers, totaled 17 crew (counting 2 naturalist guides and 2 crew in training). The support was just awesome and we could just enjoy the wildlife and scenery.”

It was a seamless experience from booking to travel. And, the itinerary was packed with activities to keep you moving and in awe of nature every day! “Don't make the same assumption I made. This is not a cruise. It's an EXPEDITION!! It's an Expedition that brings you close to nature as God intended. The Quasar guides (Bolo, Christina, and Hernan) ensure your experience with wildlife is a memorable one. Whether you're on land or in the water, each Expedition is unique. The Quasar guides' knowledge of the animals and islands adds to your experience. I looked forward to the nightly briefings informing us of the next day's adventure. The briefings made the next day more exciting. We weren't just looking at wildlife, we were searching for specific breeds of birds, sharks, iguanas, etc. Quasar makes your Expedition to the Galapagos a bucket list item completed! This will be a trip we will talk about for years to come!”

“Do not feel that having a Jeep was remotely necessary or worth the added cost. Part of the group taken on kayak trip that had to be canceled and have not received a refund. Guides were wonderful and wine tasting in Buenos Aires could not be beat. Overall, for the hiking part of the trip, would recommend using guides from hotel/resort.”

Dear Fredric, Thank you for taking the time to express your candid feedback with our team – we really appreciate it. We're very sorry to hear that your private, luxury Jeep® experience didn't meet your expectations. Since you booked this trip through a travel agency, instead of our in-house Expedition Designers, we needed to get in touch with your travel agent to obtain a little bit more information about your booking/travel experience with us. After speaking with your agent, we were made aware that the 3 couples who came along for the adventure each wanted to enjoy different excursions on several of their safari dates. Being that our Jeeps only accommodate 4 Guests and our 1 private Naturalist Guide, and all Guests on each Jeep would experience the same activities together, multiple Jeeps were required in order to fulfill each traveler's wishes of partaking in different activities. When you forego private Jeep excursions in Patagonia, you are limited to what the hotels have to offer and often miss out on the once-in-a-lifetime experience you originally sought out for, and paid for. Hotel excursions are conducted in vans and in larger groups on a tighter schedule. Additionally, hotel activities are specific to each property, you choose them on arrival, not all excursions are available every day at a hotel, and activities are confirmed based on number of interested hotel guests, group size limits, waitlists and more. Not to mention, hotel guides conduct these large group outings (they're not private to you) which can often take away from the overall experience. Our guided safaris include a private Quasar Guide – who is not only your local naturalist immersing you in the national parks, and showing you remote areas that hotel buses and vans cannot access – but also acts as your personal concierge for the duration of your trip too. Quasar activities and excursions for each chosen safari are decided by our Guests well in advance of travel to ensure all activities are confirmed before arrival. Because of this, our Guests have the pleasure of avoiding the possibility of not going on a desired excursion, waiting in long lines to board vans, missing out on more remote/secluded areas hotel excursions can't access, etc. On a Quasar safari, you get to choose your preferred excursions before you go and design a personal adventure that is as active, or as relaxed, as you want it to be! So, we are truly glad that you and your travel companions made the decision to journey with us in our private Jeeps. It's the best way to experience all of the the magic that Patagonia has to offer. In regards to the canceled kayaking trip for your friends, unfortunately that was out of our control as it's managed by a third party service provider that handles all activities on the ice at Glacier Bay. We took the time to reach out to their Travel Agent to see what happened and issued a refund immediately. Per their Agent, The Waldmans were very pleased. Again, we thank you for taking the time to give us your honest feedback about your experience! These are the kinds of comments that we like to hear so we can ensure future Guests have that unforgettable travel experience that they've always dreamed of. “Gustavo and Walter, where are guides and they were absolutely wonderful. Very knowledgeable about everything in Galápagos and were very inclusive and warm and welcoming and making sure we were all included in the activities. The food was absolutely fantastic and the entire boat crew was beyond incredible. I have never been more taken care of and spoiled in my life. Thank you so very much for an incredibly special trip.
