“Do not waste your time. No quick quote on line as I had been promised and expected.
I resent being bombarded with unsolicited calls from unknown companies for days afterwards. Each one laboriously wanting to go through each and every detail I had just entered on line for "A Quick Quote".
One respondent I allowed went through every item and after quoting and after being told my renewal premium, then went to ask whomever, came back with a lower price which was from the same company that I already had the renewal from. AXA.
One email response even addressed me by my Christian name which I take objection to as he doesn't know me form Adam
If this is the way the overpriced insurance industry's comparison sites are trying to cut costs on giving quotes in order to make even more profit in rip off Britain then it is very very annoying.”

Would you be able to specify where you had been promised quotes online please? This needs to be addressed as we are regulated by the FSA and if there are other sources that are stating that this is the case it needs to be resolved.

“Filling in the form was quick and easy, but I need to be contacted in the evening (I have a day job, this was looking for a quote for my own business, which I can't run at my day job, for obvious reasons).
By lunch time I had missed fifteen calls, and had one email and three text messages, only from three different suppliers. Not one was able/willing to provide a quote via email. “Unfortunately this was not a very good experience for me. I was passed to different people having gone through all of my details to have to go through them all again as i got passed to yet another person & after doing this 6 times with only one quote it got quite teadious. The one quote i did get was extortionate & he just put me on hold when i told him. I couldn't end the call either, the line was stuck on the call. Finally i got passed on to the 7th person (Tradeplan insurance) who were fantastic. He understood what i had been through & explained what was happening. I got a very good quote from them which i took out due to their service. I did get several calls from other companies that left messages for me. This service would be good if it wasnt for the going through all the details so many times!!”

“The idea is a good one but the actual process employed just isn't customer friendly. First - it isn't clear on the email from Quote Searcher that it is not they who will be providing a quote but that they pass details on to several companies. It then becomes a fight to see who can be quickest to phone you up.
What was then annoying is that you are spoken to by someone who then sends all your info onto someone else. My problem has been that no one can give me a quote as it's not within a month of my renewal date.”

“Absolutely appalling. Site is misleading. I was expecting instant online quotes but instead I have been bombarded with calls. I filled in the online information and started receiving calls within 15 seconds, which would be great but I filled it out at around 2pm and SPECIFICALLY asked to be contacted in the evening, I am at work during the day. I asked all the companies that called why I was being called during the day instead of the evening as I had requested and they ALL told me that this information had not been passed on to them. Would NOT use this service ever again nor would I advise anyone else to.”

“I regularly use comparison sites but this is the first time I have encountered a site which simply gives your details out to anyone & everyone. Having been bombarded by phone calls in a 24 hour period I lost track of the different companies who left messages, sent emails & rang hourly. I did get a better quote than my renewal that saved me a little under 10% but I'm not sure it was worth the hassle. Even when I accepted the quote & paid up it did not stop the phone calls. The insurance quotes I've had for other things online give policy summaries to make it easier to compare exactly what you get for your money & at most generate a few emails repeating their quotes.
Further, despite having supplied the information required, I had to repeat much of it, &, (as my mum used to say) whilst it cost nothing, it was vaguely irritating.
On balance I probably will stick to online only quotes next year”

“Used the site last year for insurance.
