“Overall: Overall, we enjoyed staying at Guelfo. Enjoyed Most: It is in a great location. We LOVED eating at the little restaurant right across the street called Francesco Vini. There was plenty of room in the master bedroom and we were able to keep it nice and cool. Enjoyed Least: The summer heat in Florence was at an all-time high, so we found it difficult to adequately cool down the apartment. The washer/dryer in the property was very difficult to figure out how to operate. The English instructions were quite inadequate. Also, we really needed a fan for each bedroom upstairs (only one fan was provided). The guests that did not have a fan were quite uncomfortable at night. There are nice big windows in the living room, but unfortunately, there really is only a view down to the street below. Surrounding Area: We most enjoyed the restaurant across the street called Francesco Vini. Had dinner there numerous times. The property is in easy walking distance to many places in central Florence. Tips or Restaurants: As I said before, be sure to try the restaurant across the street called Francesco Vini. They provide bath towels, but no wash cloths, so bring them if you want. We had to buy extra toilet paper. Directions: Take a taxi...don't even try to find the place on your own!!! Check In Out: Check in/Check out was very simple. The owner was so nice and accommodating for our early check in.”

“Overall: Overall, it was a good experience. Views were incredible and owners were very nice and helpful. Enjoyed Most: Views and size of villa. Enjoyed Least: Beds were uncomfortable. Also, the air conditioner had not yet been installed for the season, even though it was late May and the weather was warm. Surrounding Area: Tuscany and San Gimignano, in particular, was beautiful. Nearby Events or Locales: San Gimignano; it's about a 3-mile mile walk on a dirt road.”

“Overall: We had a great vacation. There were a lot of nice aspects to the house and a few drawbacks, but they didn't detract from our experience. Enjoyed Most: The outside terrace Enjoyed Least: As stated in the description, the heating cost was extra. In the end, it was a minimal charge. Using the fireplace was a good idea, but the firewood was an extra cost, as well.The beds and sheets and blankets could have been softer and more comfortable. Surrounding Area: Taormina is so charming.Mt. Etna was magnificent and such a convenient day trip from the villa. Nearby Events or Locales: There are some restaurants and shops right along the main road near the villa. Tips or Restaurants: The owner of the house is very happy to help with suggestions. Directions: Finding the villa was somewhat tricky; it would have been helpful to have more landmarks.”

“Overall: We had a great time with our family. Enjoyed Most: The views and the pool. Enjoyed Least: The hot water heater stopped working; the owner immediately called a plumber and it was repaired by the evening. The owner recommended a quick cleaning/linen change at the end of the first week; we agreed and the cost, 120 Euros, was deducted from the deposit. Surrounding Area: The area is beautiful and everywhere we went was great. Nearby Events or Locales: Monsummano is the nearest town, but it's not walkable. Great scenery. Tips or Restaurants: Don't overpack.”

“Overall: We had a great time in the area. Aqua Paradise (water park) was fantastic, food great in the little town. it was cold and rainy most of the time. The castle was warm. The bathrooms and kitchen badly need attention. The wine and cheese gathering was great. we loved Mara and Marco who hosted the gathering. Enjoyed Most: The grounds. Enjoyed Least: it needs some tender loving care inside the apartment. Nearby Events or Locales: Aqua Paradise Park Tips or Restaurants: Marios was great food, La Lauras, Cappaccino at the gas stations are great and cheap. Directions: Never be without a gps! It was a life saver. Check In Out: Mara was great.”

“Overall: Overall, we loved living in this area of Rome. Enjoyed Most: The location on this pedestrian street was terrific. We could walk out the door and find everything we needed within 5 minutes. Enjoyed Least: The noise at night particularly on the weekend was loud. Earplugs helped somewhat, but be prepared. This apartment faces the street and is on the second floor. The dryer took forever and air drying is best. Tips or Restaurants: Trastevere area has many trattorias and many are reasonably priced even with the Euro sticker shock.”

“Overall: We had a really lovely week. The location is just great and our accommodation was spacious and attractive. Enjoyed Most: The location with lovely views across the valley Enjoyed Least: The beds - not very comfortable, and the fact that the shower was in the bath and had to be held by hand. The lighting was poor also - difficult for reading at night. Surrounding Area: Good proximity to a lot of small lovely towns and well as only 20 min drive to Florence. We found parking easily outside a city gate. Nearby Events or Locales: The nearest small town was Bargino. It was at the bottom of the hill. With young children, I would say it definitely wasn't within walking distance as the walk back up the hill would be tough. There was an excellent Coop supermarket in San Casciano - 5 minutes drive away. Tips or Restaurants: The kitchen was basically stocked but had everything we needed for cooking simple Italian meals. The wine tasting and tour of the castle once a week was a lot of fun and very interesting - well worth doing.”
