“Don't use this site to book your reservation! They charge a useless fee of $19.95 on top of the room rate and taxes. If you are making a reservation within 7 days of travel, the reservation is non refundable and they charge your card IMMEDIATELY! I also was not aware that I was using a 3rd party app for my reservation in the first place because I went to the hotel's website (or so I thought) to make it. They are a scam. It's only $20, but it is very maddening to realize you've been duped.”
“If I could give them zero stars I would. I called to make a room change and they said no changes or refunds. That's when I found out they also charged me hidden fees of $19.99. There manager is Jane also very rudly said it's in fine print, I agreed to the charges.”
“I wish I could give this site less than 1 star. Terrible product! Their non-refundable booking scam caught me once, but it will never catch me again. Avoid this site at all costs.”
“Hijacked my wife's browser booking at Mariotte. She thought it was a bargain. But undisclosed, they charged in USD for a reservation made in Canada for a Canadian hotel. They also charged a $20 USD charge she was not expecting.
The charge shows up as Expedia which is a company I have long since blocked on our router...”
“Looks like we all had the same experience. When I see "Free Cancellations" that's what I expect! Marriott cancelled with no fee. Reservations.com charged me $19.99. BUYER BEWARE! Check the website url BEFORE you book. I thought I was in the Marriott website. I booked the Marriott directly and it was ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS LESS on a ONE NIGHT STAY!!! Marriott charged $233, Reservations.com charged me 333!”
“They hijack you from the hotel website and not knowing they book you they charged us $165 for we don’t know and $19.99 for the reservation. They do this to everyone SO NOT USE THEM!!!!!!! I’m emailing them every day to find out what the $166 is for still no explanation after almost a month !!!!!!!”
“Until you checkout, reservations.com does not disclose that they have a nonrefundable service fee of 19.99. Plus a transaction fee. And if you don’t read carefully at that point, you don’t realize it’s non-refundable until you try to cancel. Then they throw a scam of discounts for future bookins at you. Even printing the alternative of cancelling in tiny dark letters and their OFFEr in big bright letters. Horrible.
They do not reveal the total amount in terms of state and local taxes as well until you have entered all your card information. the charges show up inder three different names on your credit card bill.
Beware. They are doing nothing that any of the regular travel sites do but they are scamming the customer in the checkout line. They are not in the service business. Use orbitz, Booking.com, travelocity instead.”
“THIS A TOTAL SCAM.
First off, I am in the US and the Hotel is in the same state as mine NJ.
I went to the Hotel to make the reservation and somehow, I've got redirected to this useless site RESERVATIONS.COM
When I've got the bill, they claimed the charges were made in British pound sterling (GBP) and because of the currency change had charged me my bill went up really high.
Second, the bill I received from them clearly stated included room rate, taxes, and a service fee.
Later, I received another charge claimed to be a "service fee" also in British pound sterling (GBP) and converted into dollars was really high (~$28.33).
Initially I called the hotel to question these charges because I used their Web site, and they told me the reservations came from reservations.com.
I called reservations.com and after a long wait and explanation they suggested I email my card receipt and their confirmation receipt which had the breakdown of the initial charges.
I emailed all my information as requested and until now no one from reservations.com are willing to take ownership of this case.
When I called back and asked to escalate this to their supervisor, they told me they are too busy helping "other customers" and cannot help me. After they hung up on me twice, one of their agents suggested I follow up via email again and hung up on me.
RESERVATIONS.COM SHOULD NOT BE ON BUSINESS AND THE BBB SHOULD TAKE THEM DOWN.
I will report them to the BBB.
AVOID these SCAMMERS.
Angel.”
“got a jury duty notice in error. Booked a room for the night before since it was 3.5 hours away. Called them to let them know that the message was an error and they refused to refund anything. They said it was policy and non refundable since it was the day of check in. I will never use this site again if they give a free stay and 5 million dollars. I hope they all choke on their words. They are all crooks.”
“The worst. Same as everyone else. I thought I was at the hotels site. Then realized I wasn’t- but it’s as too late. They did refund me - however I saw a $19.99 fee. When I called the company and my cc they said that it was a non refundable fee and refused to reimburse me. Super scam. We gotta be careful with these 3rd party sites.”
“I thought I was on the Hotel site didn't know that they took over it and when I saw the enormous charges to my account I immediately contacted them to be on hold for 35 minutes, they said I could not get a refund nor cancel .They are a complete scam. The BBB should put them out of business the fees are way over the top and they can't even tell you what they were for!!! Never again will. I use them for anything.!!!!”
“They refused to modify my reservation by one day. I requested that it be moved one day earlier for both check in and check out. They wanted to changed me the full fee for the first reservation and charge the full fee for the altered date. What a rip off.”
“This site came up first when I googled the name of the hotel I wanted to stay at. They have designed it to look like a legitimate hotel’s site with a banner to “call for deals”. After an inordinate amount of time on the phone and complete prepayment my receipt had a $20 “service fee”. The hotel service manager said this was “unheard of” and reservations.com has refused to refund me. This is pretty clearly a scam and it’s hard to believe they are in business.”
“Tried to charge $19.99 as a "service" fee and almost $45 in "other" fees which far exceeded taxes. What's the point of using them if they charge you more than other websites or booking directly from a hotel?”
“They charged a hefty fee of $19.98 to book a reservation. Read the fine prints, there was no refund when I book 3 days prior to my arrival, even with valid reasons.”
“This site is a scam 150$ service fee canceled 10 min after called them 5 times for hours. Get refund less 150$ F^@# this site!!!! Bunch of crooks!!!!!”
“You charged us an extra $150 for a night at the Westin Denver airport hotel and your email says it is non-refundable. When we went directly to the hotel, we got a night for $150 less.”
“Total and complete scam!!! DO NOT USE THIS SITE!!! Booked two rooms for two nights for visiting relatives April 27-29, 2021. Upon arrival at the hotel family members unable to check-in because my adult daughter did not have state issued ID card - out $508.61.”
