The administration team has made the process to arrange the agreement very clear and have been really supportive and helpful. I haven’t been overwhelmed during any stage of this process as my questions have been answered by my consultant, Nicole, promptly and thoroughly. I’m very happy with the assistance I received during the process

Today I received the most amazing call of my life from Revive informing me, after 6 years, that they had completed wrapping up my creditor accounts and that they wanted to congratulate me on becoming debt free. I can't believe how they helped me turn my life around in that time. I've gone from $70k of crushing high interest debt in that time to debt free. It might not sound like a lot over 6 years but it was a massive lift from me as when I started with Revive (formerly Lanyana at the time), I was getting further behind each fortnight, literally not able to reduce my overall debt even though I was paying out as much as I could. Mentally, I was exhaused and I didn't know what to do - it took me weeks of wanting to call Revive but when I finally did I wish I had done it earlier. There was no judgement, harsh criticism or pain. Just reassurance that I was not the first, or last to be in this position, that Revive regularly helped people navigate their debt, and that they would help me get through it. It started with some basic questions about my finances, amount of debt, my salary etc - all over the phone. The consultant who helped me did the heavy lifting, eventually sending me an email with some questions and forms to sign but with it mostly pre-filled. I wouldn't have coped if I had of called, was asked for an email address, then just sent a massive stack of forms to fill out. I need to be clear that Revive take all the time to sort through your situation, human to human, with no rushing or pressure. I did receive some gentle reminders to get back with additional information but I wasn't pushed. The consultant I had was very understanding and patient with me, while at the same time not letting it all slip. So what actually happens? Revive works with you based on your earnings, debt obligations, situation and more to come up with an amount you can afford to repay each fortnight without causing distress to you and your family. They understand you have to live so they don't try and set up either a repayment schedule that will kill you or extract every available cent. Generally Revive will set the repayments up to be very managable to start with, and when you can, encourage you to increase your repayments a little while you work on better budgeting and financial management as your mental health improves. They want you to avoid suffering but at the same time want to encourage you to be debt free - they strike a good balance. Once Revive knows what it has to work with, they will contact your creditors on your behalf to negotiate new repayment terms based on what you can afford. In my case they were able to negotiate reduced interest, interest freezes and some significant reductions across all my creditors - even from the most aggressive creditors. I figure creditors trust Revive that they will help you keep on top of the new arrangement so are willing to work with them. Revive then handle all communications and questions with your creditors - its amazing, you never receive a single letter, message or call from your creditors again. And early on, before the arrangement is in place, if you do receive a letter or email, you just pass it onto Revive. If you get a call you get to say to the Creditor, "I have someone who is sorting this out, here are their details." Its liberating. Then once all the arrangement is in place, you just settle in and make your single recurring fortnightly repayment. Your manager (who doesn't change, you always speak to the same person except for the occasional staff change...I only had 3 contacts with Revive over 6 years) will get in touch every six months or so to update you on your accounts. Revive does this smart thing where they set your repayment to be a little more then they pay out so you build up a balance. Then when you have a decent amount of extra built up, they make offers to your creditors in return for a discounted lump payment, frequently resulting in further discounts on your debt. My debt was discounted approx $10k from beginning balances to closure due to negotiations from Revive. Whenever you have any questions, concerns, worries about situations that might cause a missed payment...you just reach out to your personal account manager who helps you through it. You actually form a friendship with these people because they're not rushed and they care. They're interested in how you're doing, remember your kids names, check in to see if maybe you want to increse your fortnightly repayments a little if you think you can afford it, etc. The financials are fixed at the start, so there is no benefit to Revive by increasing your repayments - they encourage healthy budgeting and trying to get debt free sooner just for you. Also, Revive has an awesome dashboard you can log into online that shows you all your creditors, how much you have paid, how much you still owe, your repayments, estimated completion date, amount of reserve built up, etc - so you can check in yourself anytime that's convenient. At the time I engaged with Revive some of my friends told me "they're not doing anything you can't do yourself", and while technically that is true, there is no way mentally I was remotely capable of doing the hours and hours of admin work and negotiations needed to achieve this result. In fact, I honestly don't think I would have avoided personal bankruptcy without Revive - I didn't even want to open my mail at the time. So thank you to Revive Financial and Charm, my current account manager, for everything you've done for me and my family over the years. I'm such a different and better person now - much more financially educated and confident about continuing to make correct choices, which makes me feel so proud!

My assessor Shanel was very helpful. She took the time to listen to my circumstances and even helped me fill out my application online. No question that I had for her was difficult to answer. I was surprised at how quick the whole process took. With her guidance I am looking forward to actually take control of my financial situation moving forward. Shanel has lifted a very heavy burden off my shoulders, cannot thank her enough. Thank you so much 🙏
