“I was at the Ross Store on O’Conner and Nacogdoches (#1771) on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025. I walked in line to checkout at register 5, the light was still on because the associate had just checked out a customer, so I walked up. As soon as I did, the associate walked away to put up hangers next to the register - the associate’s name was Raquel. I asked her if the register was still open since the light was still on. She told me there are other responsibilities she had to do and for me to wait in line until the other associate at the register called me to check out. She continued to talk to the other associate at the register next to her, Josie. I asked what this store number is, but Raquel and Josie said they didn’t know and continued to laugh and talk. I told her that customers are supposed to come first before hanging up hangers and joking with coworkers. They grinned and continued to talk. A few minutes later the other associate called me to her register and I explained to her how rude Raquel was to me. She said “Oh, I didn’t know.” The minute I walked up to the other associate to checkout, Raquel called a man that had just walked up to the line. I also noticed he was a man of a different race. I pointed this out to Raquel and asked if this was about race. She grinned at me and continued to talk to the customer. She was very rude. I asked the associate that checked me out if I could talk to a manager. She said she didn’t know where her manager was, so I asked to call her on the intercom. Marlene, the manager on duty, came up to the front and I explained to her what happened. She agreed that what happened was rude, but she couldn’t do anything about it, so she will let her manager know in the morning. I shop at this store often and noticed they’ve recently come under new management. Since this change, every employee there acts like they hate their job and have very poor customer service. The store also used to be very organized, but now it’s always messy. I am asking for better customer service and to be treated with respect when I enter into this store.”
“The Ross in Lebanon TN has the worst store manager I have ever encountered. She needs to find a desk job bc her personality is the worst! I heard her speaking to employees awful! Her name is Rachel!”
“I was shopping in the Merrillville store on Friday October 17th which turned out to be a great shopping experience. I was not happy with the long line, but the cashier Mariana turned my frown upside down. She greeted me with a smile, promoted the credit card and just delivered great customer service. She is a great asset to your team!!”
“I was at the Ross in Milwaukee on East Capitol. I was smelling the candles when it slipped and fell to the floor and broke. It was an accident. Next thing you know an employee approached me and said ". You broke it you have to pay for it" and walked away. I thought she was joking but she was serious. I told her it slipped out of my hands and it was like talking to a wall. She was very rude and unprofessional. I believe she's part of management. I've been a frequent shopper since the store opened to where the employees recognize me. Some of these "so called managers" have no customer service skills. She talked to me like I did it on purpose and I felt disrespected. You guys need to hire professionals that know how to handle situations instead of what seems like she was throwing her weight around. I worked 28 years for the government and was part of management and came across all kinds of situations. Not once did I disrespect a client. She needs sensitivity training on how to handle situations like this. Come on Ross not everyone that comes through those doors are low lives. Please do better when hiring managers. She was for a lack of a better word "VERY GHETTO". I LIVE RIGHT DOWN THE STREET BUT BELIEVE ME I WOULD RATHER DRIVE TO Menomonee FALLS WHERE THEY TREAT THEIR CUSTOMERS WITH DIGNITY AND RESPECT. I WILL NOT SPEND ANOTHER PENNY IN THE EAST CAPITOL STORE. DO BETTER.
SINCERELY, A VERY DISATIFIED CUSTOMER. RIDICULOUS!!”
“If I want to find a great bargain I go to Ross. You can find some interesting deals on brand-named clothing or home decorations. My only concern is its disorganized arrangement. You have to dig through the shelves sometimes and you might get lucky. For the most part, the stores are worth going.”
“DO NOT SHOP HERE FOR ANY REASON THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS.
I was scammed by a friend and bought $450 worth of clothes and school supplies for their children when they didn't need it. I went to four stores Walmart, Ross for less, five below and dollar tree. I could tell Ross for less the time I checked, the register, the cashier, the cashier next to her and it was still in the bag I bought from them to carry the clothes. Every store except for Ross for less returned my money
I talk corporate and they gave me a store and some of the items were discontinued because I couldn't show a receipt. They are not a company for the people. I will step foot in there again and staff was so rude and unprofessional even management. I donated the credit to the salvation army. Which I now regret because even the desperate deserves better.”
“An excellent option for those who love the thrill of the hunt for a great deal. I've had fantastic experiences with this brand because of their friendly and helpful employees. They even returned my lost umbrella once which I didn't think would ever be possible. However, I have had dissatisfaction with the long lines and disorganized shelves. That's my only irritant.”
“In Port charlotte florida an employee named Susie was amazing made me and my grandchildren feel very welcomed talked with us all she was so friendly wish I could find more employees like her I will shop again at this Ross store”
“Ross store in Carolina PR love ❤️ the Home products variety. But I was surprised of the clothing areas very little qty and selections in blouses. I purchased lots of home products. But unfortunately could not say the same for women clothing. But I love Ross please bring more women merchandise.”
“First of all there are lines everytime I go in this store. 1 or 2 associates on the register while a manager ,Karisa, stands chomping on her gum and NEVER offers the cashiers assistance. She could be serving the patrons by checking out people instead of "holding up the counter. " The store is cluttered.”
“This store is always a mess! Security and the lady who guards the dressing rooms take their jobs way too seriously. Dressing room attendant has to physically examine each item closely, touch each item, and can not add past 5. Horrible experience. Very rude personnel! Do not recommend shopping here u less you need a reason to be angry.”
“The reason they have decent prices. Is they don't have enough people working. I felt so bad for the two ladies working Wednesday, July 9th at the Northgate mall in Hixson, TN.
The line was 8 deep. One cashier. 10 people in the dressing room. Alarms were going off in the kids shoe department. Which gives me anxiety. So I walked around asking g if anyone worked there. No I e else around. I left won't be back. Is rather ship were employees are not being over worked and taken advantage.”
“The store on McCarran Blvd in Sparks should be permanently closed! Dressing rooms are closed, bathrooms are cl I seduced and shelves are not stocked. Never more than 2 people at registers regardless of the line. When they DO open a dressing room I was told it's only after 3:30! As an elderly person this doesn't work for me when all of the teens are there. This store has been bad for a long time but thought I'd give it one more chance today but I left without buying anything because I couldn't use a dressing room though I intended to buy at least 10 things that were already in my cart. I was also informed this store has a very high theft rate which just confirms to me it should be closed! Security just stands up front by the door...in the meantime I saw people in aisles with small items that could be easily put in pockets so the fact that they need to see a receipt for your bags doesn't matter. Also they never looked in customers bags so they are useless for theft control...”
“Visited the Ross in mays landing nj and they closed the main dressing room in the back of store at 9:45 pm. The clerk told us to ask the manager to open the 2 front dressing rooms which are usually used once the main was closes. He said "no". So , who isn't doing their job? And since when do we close dressing room OVER an hour befofe closing? (which is 11PM ) Terrible customer service. People were trying on things in the aisles. And the clerks watched and let them. Pathetic.”
“Clothes at a thrift store are better than Ross..the store is terrible I purchased a pink shirt 2 days later I realized the shirt had no buttons I take it back for a full refund..why did it take 20 minutes with a receipt to get a full refund the lady asking me all kinds of questions I'll never shop there again!!!”
“Ross would not give me my money back. I purchased a cologne that was bad. The lady said no return because it was open.
I tried to explain that the colgne was bad.
She said oh well. That's what happens when you buy it here. That's why it is marked down.”
“Well, aside from the location being very convenient for me, I must say I'm pleased.
I moved to this city a little over 10 years ago, and I remember visiting this store located on Centerville Rd, in Garland TX. During the Christmas holidays, everything looked very clean and organized, as it still is today. On that occasion, among the cashiers was a very kind and attentive lady, whose name is Nancy. I continue to see her working at the same store. I was very pleased to see her and thank her for her service. Ross, you are lucky to have people like Nancy working with you.”
