Don't use this service, unless you want to have a really bad experience and a high risk of having the worst holidays of your life. We hired them for a 5 day trip for 30 people, planned 6 months in advance. One day earlier, they canceled the entire thing because some of the crew members got Covid, not giving us any option (and having paid the full amount already.) They paid us a very crappy hostel and actually, charged us for it 30 Eur each. Then, nothing. We had to re-plan our holidays ourselves because they didn't give us any other choice. Now that I read the bad reviews here, I think they did us a huge favor canceling that boat.

Dear Hans, Manon & Anonymous. We are sorry that due to covid we had to cancel your cruise last minute. From our side we fully refunded you within a week, we tried to find an alternative gulet which unfortunately was not possible and offered to book hotel accommodation for the week. We are deeply sorry for the inconvenience caused.
The worst experience of my life, we came from all over the world to live this experience of a week boat. They made us believe at first that our trip was postponed by one day because of the absence of one of the crew members (who does not have a back up?) They offered to accommodate us in a shabby hotel… the next day they canceled for no reason… We were stranded in Athens without a plan for our vacation… thanks to the worst turistic compagny ever !!!!!!!

Probably the worst experience ever in Greece! The company canceled the trip last minute and they never came with a solution. It’s a fraud, they pretended to accommodate the people in the worst hostels neighborhood in full of homeless and drug dealers. Since they never answered, Emails and phone we went to complain directly to the company, and the owner wanted to kick us out. Watch out! It’s this company it’s a trap.

Dear Alfonso Prieto & Dear America Martin, you cruised on the same week with us on board Hemera. We feel terribly sorry we did not meet up to your expectations. We sincerely apologized to your group that due to the mechanical issue you faced while cruising with your generator, your experience was not the expected one. Our team of technicians worked 24/7 to be able to fix your generator as soon as possible. We did manage to repair it within 24 hours, however we realize that this did not meet up to your expectations and we sincerely apologize again for the inconvenience caused during your cruise. Thank you The Sail in Greece Team
Simply, Don’t hire them, you will regret. I could enumerate a huge amount of problems that we have had during our trip at Hera, but this is the second time trying to post this review and the first time took me more than an hour to write everything that I could tell. Now I’m resuming. Boat and crew were not what Sail in Greece make you expect with their website. We were completely disappointed with absolutely everything. Only good were our travel companions (friends and family) with whom we were able to make a laugh of all these unbearable and incredible situations we had to face on board of Hera every single day of our trip. I encourage you NOT TO HIRE THEM. YOULL REGRET IT. ah! They shouldn’t be using a Sail in their Logo if they are going to make the whole trip on engine in spite the favourable winds and our express petition to both company and captain. Read all the comments with 1 star. I absolutely agree with everything that has been said there. Disappointing from beginning to end.

Dear Raquel, We are sorry to hear that we did not manage to meet up to your expectations and hope that the next charter with us will be up to your standards. We would like to inform you however, that all our fleet of motor sailers / gulets use 99% of their time the engine/motor and in very rare occasions we use the sails. A decision that is solely on our captain's responsibility. Thank you

Good formula for visiting the Greece islands because of the rather wide freedom we get to visiting the islands without too much bothering about the clock, as the boat awaits at the dock until the next day. Very pleasant as well to have the possibility to jump in the water when we get to on quiet lagoon close to the island. However, we weren’t as pleased with many things that we got from Sail in Greece. 1- the boat was dirty, the deck needs a complete and thorough brushing (if not an actual buffing), the restrooms floor in our rooms were as dirty and the shower floor was worst, with even some algues between the deck floor, we were all disgusted with the mattresses on the deck that were all stained, etc. ; 2- air conditioned limited to night, often starting around 10:00 or 11:00 PM, and the smell from the engine was spreading to the rooms area, which was terrible; 3- the crew was cold to us, because they were asked not to talk to the passengers; 4- Communication from the captain was scarce, only one group safety meeting at the start, no other meeting to explain where and when we leave, or even make a statement about the ongoings on the boat, and no good by meeting on the last day; 5- and finally the boat didn’t look at all as what we could have seen from the pictures on your web site, it was quite a deception when we saw it docking (on a late arrival) on the first day. Sincerely, Martin Lafrance

Dear guest, Thank you for your review and sad to hear we did not meet your expectations. Regarding the comments raised for our M/S Artemis please find below our replies : 1) The a/c during night time and normally after 23:00 is turned off due to Greek regulations in all ports, a process that have been advised to all of our guests before booking. 2) Our M/S Artemis is a budget 35 meters vessel, that offers space and can accommodate comfortably large groups. The vessel is not luxury, which is clearly depicted on the photos provided. If our guests were expecting a higher standards vessel, we could not be accountable for. 3) Our 6 crew members during your week did everything possible to please all your needs and work around the clock to make your cruise memorable. It is sad to hear that you did not feel that way. We hope to meet your expectations next time if you to charter a vessel from our fleet and suggest you to charter a more luxurious one. Thank you
The stink that rises from the bedroom is unbearable. Just the smell of sewage and burnt oil. The ship's safety conditions are dangerous to human life. We went through a difficult experience and almost killed us traveling when a heavy table that was not tied flew on the passengers

-Not recomended at all - As soon as we got to the gullet Hera in Mykonos, we felt a very sharp smell of sewage in the area of the cabins and bar, a smell that did not leave us for a moment until the end of the voyage. - In most of the cabins the smell of sewage was unbearable until you could not close your eyes or stay for a few minutes at the bottom of the boat - In general, to the best of our knowledge, the boat was not clean to say the leasti - In some of the cabins the sinks were not anchored to the floor and constituted a danger to those holding them during high waves - The windows of the cabins that are used for ventilation did not allow this (recall the smell of heavy sewage in the cells) since the window grip was not open and we had to improvise creative solutions to hold open windows for ventilation -at one night, we were amazed to hear that the water had run out and that it was impossible to shower after a day of swimming in the sea. Internal arguments started between the crew and the captain, and accusations were exchanged about the quantities and data transferred to them by them. One of our men heard the captain yelling that his job was to sail the boat and not to worry about water etc. In one of his responses to water shortages, he told us to use mineral water bottles and so we did. - Lack of hot water in one night. We were told that running the air conditioning simultaneously with hot water is not possible. After discussions with one of the staff and the captain, the subject was arranged .... And of course later hot water was activated even when the aircondition worked. - At the beginning of the journey, it became clear that the toilets in two cabins were faulty and the staff intervened. Apart from the captain, we would like to commend the rest of the crew who worked hard on food and service, and it can be said that if not for their successful performance in covering the captain's helplessness, it is not certain that the sailing would have ended peacefully. - Some of the members of the voyage have a professional maritime background and Skipers licenses and most of the others have sailed for more than 10 years and some even 15 years in the various Greek islands. To the best of our knowledge and experience, the captain, Mr. Nikos, who was considered to be the best in company, was found to be hesitant, cowardly, indecisive and insecure, lacking in professionalism and inability to communicate with the passengers.he sat In the kitchen, and mainly suffered from not explaining, or clarifying what was expected every day on the journey, and in fact we had to harass him with questions because he was not with us at all and it seemed totally improper to us.. When reach Paros we noticed that the captain was sailing the boat to the center of the bay and not towards the docks, and planned to take the anchor down in front of the big shuttlesboats. To our repeated questions, the captain replied: "I can not connect to the pier according to the instructions the company gave me ...". A bitter argument began with him and he changed from now to now his reasons for not tying the gullet to the inner docks. Strange and ridiculous arguments (depth, sinking, wind directions, etc.). At one point and after a long time of argument, the captain asked us: "Do not push me into actions against the company.!" When we reached the shore we turned to the port administration and asked if a Gulet could dock at the dock. The officer asked us which Gulet and when we told him that we were talking about Hera, he told us that this gullet can not dock at the dock because the company that owns the gullet Hera owe money for anchorage from last year and therefore will not be allowed to dock at the dock - Our willingness to make the rental of Gullet was based on a certain prospect and photographs that were passed on to us. To our great surprise, only at a meeting a week before sailing we discover that the Gulet had undergone certain changes, especially in the cabins, and since the details were known to us only a week before the voyage, we were already signed and paid for flights and hotels we could do nothing. In fact, as we boarded a boat in Mykonos, we discovered that the changes in the cabins are essential. For example, there is no possibility of boarding the upper beds, since there are no ladders, no railings in the upper beds, no real ventilation in the cabins. ... In short, there is no similarity in reality to what was presented to us at the beginning. SO in summery "THE " HERA" WAS AN OLD GULET, NOT CLEAN , TOILETS NOT WORKING, THE CAPTAIN INCAPABLE AND DID NOT SHOW ANY WILLING TO MEET OUR REQUESTS. WE WERE 17 FRIENDS HOPING FOR A NICE VACATION, IT WAS NOT, , A WHOLE DAY WITHOUT WATER!!!!! THIS COMPANY IS BAD!!!!!!!!!!!! DON'T CONTACT IT. NEVER BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY, YOU WILL ONLY WASTE MONEY, TIME AND GET BACK FRUSTRATION.

We participated in your Yolo cruise from June 8th to 15th. When we arrived on the sailing boat, we were made aware that the weather was bad, we could not sail to Ios, we could not dock at the port of Santorini and there was no running water and no food for the night. This situation stayed like this for 3 days, with no news from you. Every day, we were losing time to go to the port, waiting for the captain to ask for the authorization to sail (which is totally forbidden for a captain to live his boat with clients on board). During this time (almost 4 hours every day), our tour managers didn’t organize anything for us to make something on the sea, or to try to take us to Santorini to visit. While we were waiting, we had no running water AT ALL, we had only breakfast on board to feed ourselves, and no way to get off the boat to buy some food. On day 3, the captain finally gets the authorization to sail and to dock, and just after docking in Santorini (for few minutes), the anchor did not manage to attach, the boat started drifting away and almost crash on a boat nearby, with guests on board. These guests (Australian girls) finally haven’t been able to get off the boat this evening, like it was supposed to be. Finally, the tour managers decided after 3 days of a very bad situation to get us off the boat to go to Ios. Your company told our tour managers to stay on the boat and not come with us. Therefore we had pay, with our OWN money, for a taxi boat to get out of the boat and the ferry to get to Ios. In Ios, we had to pay again for breakfast, as your company did not book a room with included breakfast. Finally, our tour managers have been able to come to Ios, and we took the ferry for Paros. Arrived in Paros, we were really surprised to see that the rooms you paid for were in the basement of the building, and with a really bad smell and humidity. Again a very bad situation for your guests. We didn’t get the chance to go to Naxos, like it was supposed on your program, because of the time we lost due to your lack of management and communication. When we arrived in Mykonos, we found out our new « rooms » (if we can call it like that because there were less room than in the boat...), we saw a very tiny room with no air conditioning, and no private bathroom, almost like a camping (it was 32 degrees during this time in Mykonos). However, our tour managers insured us that it was supposed to be apartments with AC and private bathroom. After you refuse to reply to us and 2 hours of losing time. YOU told our tour manager that you didn’t want to pay for a decent room like we were supposed to have on the boat, and again we had to PAY MORE to have an upgraded room. Again we haven’t got the time to discover Mykonos while we tried to speak with you about our situation. You didn’t even bother to reply to our email/phone calls we sent... Finally, we did nothing that was supposed to be organized by your company (barbecue on board, private boat party all-inclusive, private beach party all inclusive...). We started with so many hopes and excitements when we arrived on this trip, and nothing good happened. I could add that the WiFi did not work all the time (only a few minutes, and then stop), which was not planned in your trip, and the AC and the power supplied was stopped all the time with no reason ??! All these problems made us spend more and more money: After claiming the money we had to pay in ADDITION to what we paid for the whole trip in the first place. You send us an offer that was only HALF of what we paid. When trying to get a reply from you asking for AT LEAST the refund of the extra fees we paid (I had to chase you on the phone and send you multiple emails, again losing my time...) The only answer you gave was: “Talk to your lawyer, that will speak with our” I had to get a LAWYER on the phone with your company, as you are lier and thief, you decided to give more money. But even there it is not a full refund of the extra fees… In summary: NO TOUR OPERATOR HERE, ONLY PROFESSIONAL THIEF. NEVER BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY, YOU WILL ONLY WASTE MONEY, TIME AND GET BACK FRUSTRATION.

Here is a May 2019 review. I would not recommend this tour to anyone. Our group of 10 emailed the company post-tour explaining our dissatisfaction with the whole week, and they are taking absolutely no ownership of any issues. We asked for reimbursement/compensation. It was declined. Please don’t make the mistake of thinking that because the reviews are conflicting, that they have pulled their socks up and improved recently. The more reviews I read, the more I notice many reviews are suspiciously vague and too positive. I suspect those reviews might be fake. My main issues are with the safety and cleanliness of the boat. There are absolutely no safety briefings as you board the ship and a lot of my group did not know where the life jackets were. This became relevant when we had awful weather that was throwing the boat around as if it was nothing, breaking the anchor/chain. The crew were telling us that it was quite normal to have rough seas but if that is the case, it makes sense to prepare the group for the possibility. We had to sail for 8 hours in the night and we all had no idea what to expect or do. Things were smashing, broken glass everywhere, you could not stand or even sit without being thrown out of your seat. Communication from the crew was poor especially that night and would not have happened without our insistence. The boat stinks. I absolutely refuse to believe that sailing boats normally smell like this. Vomit from seasickness and other human waste fermenting presumably in a septic tank is not something I had ever smelt before and hope never to smell again. This smell comes up through all the drains so it’s inescapable. The toilets were flushing with brown pooey water. Often you would find someone else’s poo in your toilet having made its way around all the pipes of the ship. It's horrifying. Oh, also I had a ‘functioning’ toilet. Half the ship did not so some of the group were literally holding in their poo until they got to land, so as not to make a big unflushable pile and make the smell worse. I didn’t know this until our final night on the boat. Many people bring the smell up when they review this tour and Sail In Greece state ‘no issues were reported by our staff’ every time. But based on what I saw, I doubt the crew are doing a daily updated check in with head office. For example: no toilet paper is allowed to go down the toilet, which is fair, but we were told the bins would be changed each day. My bin was changed once in 7 days. I doubt that if they give that few fucks about the cleanliness of the cabin bathrooms that they are doing daily quality assurance and reporting back on it. Oh and my ‘freshly made’ bed had a top blanket which had some crusty white stuff on it. Things described on the itinerary are not likely to happen. Our itinerary described free ouzo, a night of unlimited cocktails, a private boat party with DJ. When we enquired about this, our tour guide had absolutely no idea. Because Niko was such a lovely guy I am reluctant to throw him under the bus but he is employed by the company and he should also be familiar with what has been quoted on the itinerary. Sail in Greece replied to our email saying "at no point did we say drinks are provided" but it absolutely read like that, otherwise we would not have expected it. For 10 separate people to interpret a statement the same way, you've used misleading words. Sail In Greece have this disclaimer: ‘the itinerary is subject to change at the captains discretion or due to unforeseen circumstances’ but I think they use this to cover themselves to change things on a whim, things that are completely within their control. We are reasonable enough to understand that the weather can be unpredictable. But we lost two full days of activities and time on the islands due to a administration problems with them needing to get a new captain? It's frustrating beyond belief to be ready waiting to go and the crew can't tell you what is happening. And being stuck on the boat literally all day. We had a meeting with the tour manager halfway through the trip to try to get some clarity around what was happening, he assured us things would change, they didn't. It was an absolute shitshow and if you read all that I am glad because it probably means you were quite seriously considering this trip. Don’t book with Sail In Greece.

Would give a NO star review if it was possible. DO NOT BOOK WITH SAIL IN GREECE. "Itinerary" and "inclusions" are completely irrelevant. We were promised a DJ, unlimited cocktails, free shots of ouzo, beach parties, boat parties. They did not deliver on ANY of these promises. The biggest joke was the "unlimited cocktails" which they explained on the boat meant we could bring unlimited alcohol on the boat (that we purchase ourselves). Our first captain who brought his feral dog on board (who pooped on the deck and bit the guests) was kicked off after 2 days and replaced with another captain. The two captains needed an entire day to figure out the transition and left us on the boat with ZERO communication about what was happening. We all got off the boat a day early after the Captain snapped an anchor and we floated seemingly aimlessly in the water while everything came crashing down from the walls/shelves as the boat rocked violently from side to side. The crew were running around frantically, crockery and glass was smashed everywhere, we all thought the boat was going to sink and we hadn't been briefed on any safety procedures and had no clue where the life jackets were. This YOLO cruise was absolute chaos, Sail in Greece refused to acknowledge our complaints and have really shown themselves to be total scam artists.

Dear guest, Thank you for your review. We are sorry to cancel your cruise due to low participation, as stated on our email exchange directly with you. We fully refunded you the amount paid and proposed you alternative dates that we were operating normally. Sorry again for the inconvenience caused.
NO organisation. NO running water for one day. NO on board events or planned events as advertised on the itinerary. One of the guests was a victim of inappropriate comments from one of the captains. The staff were caught drinking our self payed for alcohol. The ship was absolutely disgusting on arrival. So bad that one of the captains jumped shipped and became a fugitive (I wish I was making this up) Do Not Book with Sail in Greece.

I do not recommend! I have travelled before with Sail Croatia and I had the impression they were the same company, Until now I am not sure however if I were Sail Croatia I would not want my company’s name associated with Sail in Greece! We had problems from the beginning, before booking we were told we could stay in 2 double cabins and 1 week before we received an e-mail informing us that the boat we were assigned didn’t have 2 double cabins and that we had to speak with out tour manager to solve the problem. I sent at least 4 e-mails where I specified that was a must and they responded that it would be possible. After involving my the rest of the group and threatening to cancel we were told they changed the boat we were assigned to accommodate us. We boarded Santorini on Sunday, a day late due to weather conditions so far ok, it was very windy! When I got to my cabins they were dirty and the sheets had stains on it I am not sure they had been washed, but the worse worse of all is about to come! Everytime someone pooped anywhere in the boat the poop was distributed around the toilets in the cabins, so every time I opened the toilet I found someone’s poop on it!! We were stuck in Ios due to weather conditions, it was windy though, however we weren’t sure about that because on the day we were meant to leave there was a window with less wind however we never sailed we were told the Captain was asleep. This could be right, but company’s credibility makes me doubt. Anyways we managed, by ourselves to make the most of our trip, but Sail in Greece had absolutely nothing to do with it! Please read all the reviews before booking anything with them! I have been in many boats before none of them I had contact with other people’s poop!

Dates travelled: 15 September 2018 - 22 September 2018 Yolo Cruise - Santorini to Mykonos En-suite Fleet, Hera Ship Price: circa £280 I was unhappy with the service Sail in Greece provided. Administration: When we reserved 4 spaces we were told that we could be in two double cabins. We therefore booked on the basis of this representation. Before the cruise started, the company informed us that there was only one double and the other couple would have to be in a room of 3. This resulted in lengthy correspondence to try and resolve this issue. The company initially said that we would have to make do relying on their terms and conditions to state that the types of cabins are not guaranteed. After reiterating to them that there had been a misrepresentation that we would be in two double cabins, they offered to incentivise the third person by way of a discount to share sleeping quarters with the crew or for them to sleep on deck. This did not provide a guaranteed outcome. Luckily this situation was resolved because the company said that they would now be using a different ship (Hera as opposed to Aphrodite) which had two double cabins that the two couples (us) could inhabit. I don’t know whether this was by accident or design, but this poor administration caused us a lot of unnecessary stress beforehand. Sleeping: In Ios where the boat was docked the water was very choppy creating frequent vibrations making it very hard to have a continuous night’s sleep. In Ios we noticed that there were other boats docked a short distance away where the water was a lot calmer and where there was unlikely to be this problem. I don’t know whether different docking stations vary in price based on this factor, but with the cabins being below deck on the Hera Ship, beware that you may not have a smooth night’s sleep. Hygiene: When you flushed the toilet on these ships, pieces of faeces ended up flowing back up the toilet. The Yolo Cruises do not have a daily cabin cleaning service so the bins with all the toilet paper (as you cannot dispose this down the ship’s toilets) get rather full. Despite their not being a daily cleaning service, my girlfriend informed me that the cabin was poorly cleaned prior to entry. For example there were some bits of tissue she had to pick up off the bathroom floor. In addition there were occasions where the table on the deck had not been cleaned. This was a bit off putting as it was a surface where you placed your plate and drink down to eat breakfast. Clear instructions: On occasion there was a lack of clear instruction with regard to meeting points and times that we would depart making it difficult to plan. An example of this was on Sunday 16 September where there was no clear instruction of what time we had to be at the old port in Santorini. The same situation occurred where due to not being able to sail from Ios to Mykonos (further details of this below), there was no clear information provided regarding being at the ferry point for departure. Unable to sail: We were unable to go to Naxos and Paros. This was due to alleged poor weather conditions. Sail in Greece are entitled to vary the route due to poor weather, and to sail or not to sail is at the captain’s discretion. The weather was pretty windy on some days but due to our experience of the poor administration we are sceptical as to whether this discretion was properly exercised. My advice is to be wary that you may not cover the entire itinerary advertised. Management of behaviour: Whilst the company cannot legislate for the behaviour of their tourists on board, there could be better management in some respects of the tourists on board. Whilst a BYOB policy has its advantages, individuals having access to alcohol 24-7 from the boats fridge leads to certain people drinking too much and this can lead to accidents. For example on our ship one individual was pushed overboard and ended up suffering concussion. Nicholas

DO NOT BOOK. This company promised so much and failed to provide so much of it (This is an understatement). Greece is amazing but do the research and do not travel with this company. They did not provide us with an appropriate ship and offered no compensation. Overall, they have terrible customer service.

Dear guest, We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused due to the lats minute change of your vessel, but there was no other vessel to provide at the time being. We found the replacement vessel last minute and we tried to make sure that this is as close as to the ones you have booked as well. On top of that we offered a small compensation for the inconvenience caused. Thank you Damien
Boat never arrived for the entire cruise period, tour guide was fired mid tour. No wifi as advertised
