My husband and I just completed the Ionian Sea cruise and loved it. Although the boat "Hera" is not in top condition, captain Lucas and his crew made up for it. They were professional, competent, friendly, and very helpful. The food was excellent. We loved touring around the islands and the beautiful scenery. The swimming stops were great too. Thanks for the wonderful vacation.

We enjoyed our Ionian Sea cruise with Sail in Greece. The service was great and we had everything we needed on board. The buffet breakfast was nice and we loved the lunches and dinners. The private beaches and swim stops were awesome. We also enjoyed the Paxoi guided tour. The ship was traditional and ensuite. We had free 3G Wi-Fi onboard which was great.

This summer I eagerly headed to explore the Greek islands with a small group of my good friends from London. We had all booked this sail months before and had been looking forward to it for some time. When traveling nothing always goes to plan and this trip was no exception. Having a group of friends on the trip meant that despite all the set backs our sprits were kept high for the majority of the trip. However the strain of the trip got to us all in the end. In the beginning our boat didn’t show up because of damages sustained the previous week, we were delayed leaving Santorini the next morning which meant not making it into Ios until 4pm. This theme carried through the rest of the week with us not making it to a new port until the afternoon and struggling to find a safe way off the boat to land. This all culminated with three nights spent at paradise beach in Mykonos. When we arrived we were stuck on the boat with no foreseeable way to make it to land dry. One of the other guests wrapped his clothes and belongings in a plastic bag tied to his waist and swan to shore. In the end we had 10 minutes notice that one of the fleets sailing boats would pick us up if we wanted to go to shore, with no assurance when we would be able to get back on the boat. This continued for the next few days with our two options for getting on or off the boat been a small dingy with a temperamental motor or swimming, including our final day when we all needed to get off the boat with our luggage. In the end we organised our own water taxi to come to pick us up and transport us and our luggage safely. Along with these boat specific debacles we also misled out on several key included features and optional activities of the trip. Continental breakfast, 3G wifi, boat parties such as the beer pong and toga party, traditional Greek night and quad bike safari. To add to the frustration and disappointment, our tour leader and the company were anything but apologetic, trying to assure us that there were worse places to be stranded. In all the experience of Sail-in-Greece was very disappointing for myself and my friends as well as the other guests on the boat. It is not a company I would rebook or recommend to any fellow traveller

Ionian Cruise was by far the best experience during our Europe tour. Highly recommend it !

Absolutely horrible!!!! Do not go!!! So many bad things: No wifi No ac No hot water Some toilets didn't flush Cabin allocations with co-ed strangers even though they promise to place you with your travel companions Dirty sheets which they wouldn't replace Horrible exhaust smell (we had to sleep up too on the floor) cabins were unlivable Totally unorganized and always late We never sailed once Never went for swim stops Everyone was hooking up everywhere. Crew was hooking up with the patrons Tour guides were on drugs Drug deals going on onboard We did have horrible weather but no alternative plans were made At least 25 of the 75 people left early They promised people a ferry ticket and accommodation when they couldn't sail to santorini. Instead they didn't provide half of the people left with either and the ones they did they put them up in a campsite. Not even a "comparable" accommodation type. Spare yourself and book with a credible company. Many of their positive reviews are fake and if you look the wording is very similar. Negative reviewers are bribed to take their negative reviews down. I've spoken to a few.

I had an amazing time on my Ionian Sea cruise with Sail in Greece. The food was fantastic, the private beaches were beautiful and the company was great. I would highly recommend their service to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation.

Zante Cruise was the second route we did with Sail in Greece. Last year we have joined their Ionian route and was as expected. Nice clean cabins, friendly crew that paid attention to our needs, traditional home cooked meals and breathtaking islands. Kefalonia was my favourite!

EXPATS ELEGANT EXPERIENCE, IONIAN CRUISE Punctual in all aspects, Meals, trips, sail departure and arrivals. Full itinerary of daily activities but with full autonomy to just 'do your own thing'. Onboard Meals excellent with cheerful and amenable staff. At all the island and mainland destination points don't be afraid to veer away from the recommended restaurants. Our experience was that they were all good with cheerful staff.

I do not recommend! I have travelled before with Sail Croatia and I had the impression they were the same company, Until now I am not sure however if I were Sail Croatia I would not want my company’s name associated with Sail in Greece! We had problems from the beginning, before booking we were told we could stay in 2 double cabins and 1 week before we received an e-mail informing us that the boat we were assigned didn’t have 2 double cabins and that we had to speak with out tour manager to solve the problem. I sent at least 4 e-mails where I specified that was a must and they responded that it would be possible. After involving my the rest of the group and threatening to cancel we were told they changed the boat we were assigned to accommodate us. We boarded Santorini on Sunday, a day late due to weather conditions so far ok, it was very windy! When I got to my cabins they were dirty and the sheets had stains on it I am not sure they had been washed, but the worse worse of all is about to come! Everytime someone pooped anywhere in the boat the poop was distributed around the toilets in the cabins, so every time I opened the toilet I found someone’s poop on it!! We were stuck in Ios due to weather conditions, it was windy though, however we weren’t sure about that because on the day we were meant to leave there was a window with less wind however we never sailed we were told the Captain was asleep. This could be right, but company’s credibility makes me doubt. Anyways we managed, by ourselves to make the most of our trip, but Sail in Greece had absolutely nothing to do with it! Please read all the reviews before booking anything with them! I have been in many boats before none of them I had contact with other people’s poop!

Dates travelled: 15 September 2018 - 22 September 2018 Yolo Cruise - Santorini to Mykonos En-suite Fleet, Hera Ship Price: circa £280 I was unhappy with the service Sail in Greece provided. Administration: When we reserved 4 spaces we were told that we could be in two double cabins. We therefore booked on the basis of this representation. Before the cruise started, the company informed us that there was only one double and the other couple would have to be in a room of 3. This resulted in lengthy correspondence to try and resolve this issue. The company initially said that we would have to make do relying on their terms and conditions to state that the types of cabins are not guaranteed. After reiterating to them that there had been a misrepresentation that we would be in two double cabins, they offered to incentivise the third person by way of a discount to share sleeping quarters with the crew or for them to sleep on deck. This did not provide a guaranteed outcome. Luckily this situation was resolved because the company said that they would now be using a different ship (Hera as opposed to Aphrodite) which had two double cabins that the two couples (us) could inhabit. I don’t know whether this was by accident or design, but this poor administration caused us a lot of unnecessary stress beforehand. Sleeping: In Ios where the boat was docked the water was very choppy creating frequent vibrations making it very hard to have a continuous night’s sleep. In Ios we noticed that there were other boats docked a short distance away where the water was a lot calmer and where there was unlikely to be this problem. I don’t know whether different docking stations vary in price based on this factor, but with the cabins being below deck on the Hera Ship, beware that you may not have a smooth night’s sleep. Hygiene: When you flushed the toilet on these ships, pieces of faeces ended up flowing back up the toilet. The Yolo Cruises do not have a daily cabin cleaning service so the bins with all the toilet paper (as you cannot dispose this down the ship’s toilets) get rather full. Despite their not being a daily cleaning service, my girlfriend informed me that the cabin was poorly cleaned prior to entry. For example there were some bits of tissue she had to pick up off the bathroom floor. In addition there were occasions where the table on the deck had not been cleaned. This was a bit off putting as it was a surface where you placed your plate and drink down to eat breakfast. Clear instructions: On occasion there was a lack of clear instruction with regard to meeting points and times that we would depart making it difficult to plan. An example of this was on Sunday 16 September where there was no clear instruction of what time we had to be at the old port in Santorini. The same situation occurred where due to not being able to sail from Ios to Mykonos (further details of this below), there was no clear information provided regarding being at the ferry point for departure. Unable to sail: We were unable to go to Naxos and Paros. This was due to alleged poor weather conditions. Sail in Greece are entitled to vary the route due to poor weather, and to sail or not to sail is at the captain’s discretion. The weather was pretty windy on some days but due to our experience of the poor administration we are sceptical as to whether this discretion was properly exercised. My advice is to be wary that you may not cover the entire itinerary advertised. Management of behaviour: Whilst the company cannot legislate for the behaviour of their tourists on board, there could be better management in some respects of the tourists on board. Whilst a BYOB policy has its advantages, individuals having access to alcohol 24-7 from the boats fridge leads to certain people drinking too much and this can lead to accidents. For example on our ship one individual was pushed overboard and ended up suffering concussion. Nicholas

In an extremely unorganised trip, mainly due to administrative and crew carelessness, guide Ben was an absolute legend and continued to bring good vibes throughout the whole trip. He tried to help out wherever he could to ensure we got the most out of it. Big ups dude, can't wait to catch up with you again. The captains of the boats argued a lot and didn't work together, which made things harder than they should have been.

Sail in Greece has potential to be a great trip if they provided what they said they would provide. Ive never written a review in my life, but I was strongly affected by what went on during the entire week I couldn't not advise others NOT to book this trip. Don't waste your holiday allowance or your money. It saddens me to say that never in my life have I wished for a holiday to end before now. This company takes your money and hopes you "make it your trip"..... literally you may as well do it yourself and I wish I had. I've read all the below reviews and I had pretty much the exact same shocking and disheartening experiences. So clearly these are not a few petty people with high expectations and nothing better to do with their time. Many other reviews have given you details so I just hope you listen to them. I've also read the comments in return from Sail in Greece, not taking any owenership of what has happened on any of these trips. This is a clear reflection of how they treat their customers on and off board. Management should be ashamed and should look to rectifying these mistakes before next summer, and ensure their leaders on board are trained and accountable for leading such a trip. Lastly, no one is perfect and mistakes and issues happen and especially at sea, but good planning, proper communication and great customer service can often turn these situations around and could have completely changed many peoples experiences for the better. My friend took this trip last year and had warned me it wasn't a good idea, I had already booked it and thought, I'm in Greece with sunshine and friends how bad could it be? Last words Im sorry to say I should have listened to him.

""I've been thinking about whether or not to review 'Sail in Greece' for about a month now but since being recently infected with scabies from the poor hygiene on the boat, I think it's time for a bit of a rant. I'm not one to complain and I am used to 'roughing it' and camping and backpacking, but the quality of the tour and the boats themselves was pretty bloody shit. Luckily I still had a wild time with my friends who went on the trip with me and also met some cool people. The pub crawls were heaps fun, and it obviously it was still great because we were on the Greek islands but the company has LOTS of ways they can improve. I did not expect anything spectacular because of how cheap it was, however I didn't realise it would be one star quality. Here's some advice for people who have booked the trip or thinking about going. 1. Beware, you might not get a bed or a room. I was lucky because I was warned the boats were at their full capacity before I arrived in Greece and so was prepared to go without a bed and sleep outside on the roof (which most people did anyway bc 40 degrees below deck) but some people had no idea they wouldn't actually have a room despite paying the same amount as everyone else on the boat. I also wasn't supplied with a towel or a blanket (or lifejacket) so one of the crew actually gave me his blanket which was lovely, however, looking back I shouldn't of taken it because now I have scabies. (Google it) Would recommend bringing your own pillowcase/ sheets because they are not cleaned prior or after use (think of all the sex) and also grow out your nails because scabies are itchy af. 2. Pray you don't get allocated the room next to the engine. My friend's room was right next to the engine (which also my room because I had to put all my stuff in here and shower here because I didn't get one lol) and the smell in the room was unbearable. Think of warm engine fumes mixed with shit (refer to point below) and basically you couldn't be in the room longer then about 10 minutes or you would be sick. 3. Don't expect to be able to poo on the boat because the toilets don't flush. This was a bit of an inconvenience if we were sailing or if it was night time. Whenever we would pull up everyone would run to the nearest restaurant to go to the toilets. If anyone did poo on the boat, it would come up in other people's toilets and the smell would linger around the boat all week. Also in Greece you can't flush toilet paper, which is fine if someone would come around and empty the bins, but sadly they didn't. So by the end of the week our bathroom was covered in used toilet paper because the tiny bin was full from day one. 4. Don't expect WIFI or air cons (doesn't exist). Also the company promised my friends and I a welcome package because we booked as a big group and this also didn't exist. Also still waiting for that free ouzo.. 5. Expect some rough sailing. The captains of the boat were actually arguing about whether or not it was safe to sail and then we ended up sailing anyway, which was scary but also exhilarating because we didn't end up capsizing. (We were lucky enough not to start sinking like some of the other reviewers experienced.) 6. Don't do the tours through the company-way cheaper to do it on your own. Especially the 'tour' around Santorini. Very expensive.. I think it was 25 euro.. for not much at all, just a bus ride around a bit of the island. 7. Don't pay extra for the sailing boat. Some of our friends were on the little yacht which they were told was going to be better and they had to pay more for, yet it was worse then the main ship. They were shown photos of a boat that didn't exist so it looked great, yet when they rocked up they got a worse boat than ours. They didn't get any briefing about what was going on each day and didn't get the free breakfast. 8. The leaders weren't enthused at all and didn't really know what was going on. With the exception of Z, he was great. Anyways Sail Greece, get your shit together, and the least you can do is stop the false advertising. Thanks for all the funny stories I can now entertain people with and for the itchiness, Hannah Gundry

Hello Hannah First of all thank you for taking the time to leave a review for our company . We Apologise you had such an expperience with our cruise, and we respect your opinion . We have checked our weekly health and technical reports for our vessels and there hasn't been reported any deficiencies on our boats. Please understand that the amenities offered on board, such as wifi, a/c or toilets although they operate under excellent conditions, they are not similar to standard hotels. All linens and sheets get cleaned after every cruise. There are certain rules for toilets onboard every vessel (small , medium ) for using the toilets while on dock or at sea sailing . Thank you
What went wrong? Everything. It's one thing for a boat not to travel due to weather, it's entirely unacceptable for boats not to be sea worthy. Consistantly left stranded in destinations with no knowledge of when it boats may actually be returning, or where we will actually be sleeping that night. The group was spread out over various parts of the islands. Boats had to be replaced completely, but didn't show up until the next day, accommodation for many was not to the same standard as they booked. No breakfast was provided, no WiFi, no toilets, no water, no power, no towels, no sheets. We had to resort to using marine gps services to track the position of the boat after being told its stuck due to weather, turns out it broke down and had to be rescued/held by the coast guard. We did not do any of the activities in the itinerary. There was no proper safety briefing. The whole week was a joke. Spent more time waiting for fast ferries than on our sailing cruisers. Do your selves a favour, save a bit longer and book with sail Croatia instead!

We've just had a week on Herera starting in Zante. God it was hot but really only a problem at night thanks to (a) the size of the "Cosy" cabin, (b) the intermittent air con or lack of, a noisy fan (my wife woke the first night thinking a helicopter had landed on deck) Yes! there were a few issues but thankfully we had a dream team of fellow passengers. There were only 10 of us and I think we all agreed anymore would have been a nightmare. The boat does need a little TLC but generally it served us well. We ate well and the cruising and swim stops were terrific. Thanks to the worlds most enthusiastic Company Rep in Wendy (Fantastic Wendy) whose sightings of dolphins turned into Tuna which immediatley then grew wings and flew away, I'll never forget that. The Captain and crew were excellent and the scenery is to die for. Our shipmates were brilliant and actually made the trip so much more enjoyable. Would we go again? If the cabins and comforts of a peaceful nights sleep were guaranteed then yes, but only if our old shipmates could join us.

It had been a fantastic day spent with my family. The food and ambiance were both excellent, and the room was spacious and comfortable. We will most certainly return to this excursion. This is a calm and pleasurable way to spend a once-in-a-lifetime adventure with water and environment. I was quite pleased with their Ionian Cruise, as well as the accommodations.

Encountering Greece by the sea. I wouldn't complain about £799 for Zante Cruise because we got more than enough. Awe-inspiring blue water and views, amazing caves, opulent rooms, and swimming spots! On board, there is a highly motivated team that looks after the guests. I'd take the tour again!

Dear Stan, We tried to find your contact details on the guests who cruised with us this year and we were unable to do so. On top of that, we have never been investigated by the authorities during the summer, hence we truly believe that you have not cruised with us. In any case, please email us directly with your booking ID or any email reference in order to investigate further your experience: info@sail-ingreece.com Thank you
Awful cruise with Aphrodite M/S in beginning August 2021. The new captain of the ship put us in danger in a couple of situation, the worst put the anchor in Antipaxos in the channel outside the safe water limit and suggested us to swim between the passage of the boat. No one of our wishes described in the list sent by the company has been fulfilled. No fish meal, no sea sport. And fire on board. The crew was very helpful but the captain was unable to deliver a service of quality.
