“I moved jobs in Sept 22. My employer has a pension with SW. I filled in forms my employer sent and these were sent over to SW - 3 times now as of yesterday! My employer has made 2 monthly contributions on my behalf so far (Oct and Nov). However, SW have no policy number for me having emailed, filled in forms and spoken to them on the telephone countless times since i started my new job, its now 07 Dec 2022. I was given a different email address today to contact: lpc.aftersalesATscottishwidows.co.uk I was unable to deliver your message to the following addresses: lpc.aftersalesATscottishwidows.co.uk Reason: 550 #5.1.0 Address rejected. All I want is the number so I can transfer my previous employment's pension in. If I had a choice I wouldn't have a pension with this company - if you do have a choice AVOID”

“The waiting times for the phone to be answered to existing clients is ridiculous 35 minutes only, then informed new arrangements will be confirmed in 26 working days”

“A bunch of charlatans. A policy on my Father’s life that despite approving for payment they refuse to pay out. Complaint system is useless and just gets ignored. No call backs, no emails. We are owed thousands of pounds which they refuse to payout. We are not alone in getting this treated not, there are hundreds of similar cases. Steer well clear of this organisation.”

“I want to know why Scottish Widows removed my access to On-line WITHOUT informing me, disgraceful, not only that but I called today, was left listening to a phone ringing for 26 mins and NO ONE answered, what the hell is going on there??????”

“Suffered the loss of my wife and mother of my children in July 2022 dealing with this excuse of a pension provider has been very upsetting to say the least. Kirsty McClellan in particular has been misleading and dishonest in particular and obtaining payment has been incredibly difficult. I would not consider this company in any circumstances!”

“This is a shambles of a company, they care nothing for their clients and treat you with utter contempt, their call desk is rubbish, hold for hours and get transferred from pillar to post. Take systems offline before any replacement and then wonder why they are inundated with calls. Avoid at all costs otherwise blood pressure and stress make a pension policy superfluous. You have been warned.”

“I have had Life Insurance with Scottish Widows for over a year now. When I took out the policy last October they promised me a WILL Kit and a £50 Amazon Voucher which I never received. I just phoned enquiring about the whereabouts of the promised Voucher and was told to provide proof of that promise! How disgusting!! I'm appalled. I requested to speak to the Manager and was placed on hold for over 30 minutes. Typical! False promises. A long waiting time. Imagine if I had to make a claim!! They are quick at taking my money every month. Not once have I refused them my money. I'm feeling totally disgusted. Where is the honesty and integrity of these Companies nowadays? I have lost all faith in humanity. Now going to swap over to another company. Will NOT recommend Scottish Widows to anybody.”

“I have been battling Scottish Widows for years. Trying to gather information on 20 years of acknowledged hidden/misleading fees. Grrr! So to add weight I started a Scottish Widows Complaints group on FaceBook. Am trying to get a louder voice.”

“Taken 2 days to get through and 2 hours on phone today speaking to people who don’t have any idea or knowledge of what you are asking them . Disgusting service .”

“I now live abroad so did my sister who passed away years ago. I found out there were funds for me. It has been 9 months now trying to get my funds, to no avail. Customer service is terrible, you can't get thru, you can't speak to department managers, they lie just to get you off the phone by making false promises. I don't know why this company is still operating. I am not generally a review writer but felt the need to with this one. Very frustrating!”

“I am not happy because I had all form 100% and sent them but I hadn’t heard from them for long time. I haven’t received my pension money for over 15 months They are very poor service. I had asked financial and they help me but I have pay”

“Absolutely shocking company not only is it impossible to sort issues out over the phone the online service is terrible not just that they have closed my account because I transferred some funds to another pension provider! Why would I close my account my employer pays money in monthly”

“Scumbags and fraudsters that's what Scottish widow is. Transfer the fund a week after the annual statement and the amount transfer was around 20% less!!!!! No chance to talk to anyone and proper scumbag company.”

“Unfortunately not an option for zero, listen to the reviews people, shower of crooks in this company. They will do everything they can to avoid paying out any money from your pension. How this company have not been brought yet I will never know, it’s disgusting and they are destroying peoples life’s and retirements”

“I reported my fathers death to via my bank at the end of March requesting that his life insurance policy be redeemed. 3 months and 3 complaints later and I have not even managed to obtain a claim form from . Disgusting behaviour especially during a bereavement which is a bad enough time without this extra hassle. Scottish Widows openly admit that it is not their policy to talk to other departments within their own organisation. Agent stated “Departments do not talk to each other so messages left with customer services will not be address even when escalated as a complaint for the 3rd time”.”

“Tried to bring my SW policy to Pension bee, SW responded saying they didn't have a pension for me. Nothig but delaying tactics, this company is a gangster organisation do not go near them under any circumstances.”

“I have just looked at appalling reviews and what baffles me is that there is a so called governing body and they are obviously not doing their job. My ex husband and I have four children and we were sold endorsement policies telling us that if anything happened to us or if we retired our mortgage will be fully paid off and we will also have a lump some. Halifax building society deny that they paid the independent financial advisor alongside Scottish widows. It didn’t pay our mortgage off . In fact there was a shortfall. The whole system is made of people ripping you off and these governing bodies do nothing but turn a blind eye. I am disillusioned by the system”
