Sg petch got me out of a car I could no longer afford and into one that's was much more affordable, all the staff were very polite and helpful

Having bought my second new Hyundi from the Middlesbough dealer on the Tuesday. I did,nt use this until the saturday,when the Malfunction light appeared. I took this back to the garage on the Monday, and never heard anything from them at all week. So on the Saturday, I rang to find out the problem. Was told the person dealing with my car was off and she would get Alex to get in touch on the Monday. On the Monday , (having had this new car for a week) she rang to say that the car was actually fixed the same day, but had rang me ONCE, and was unable to get an answer. I explained I am at home all the time, but nobody is there 24/7.. I think this was disgraceful, never ringing another time, or even using my e-mail , and to be left without the car for a whole week.

Having been a customer of SG Petch for a number of years for vehicle purchase, servicing and MOTs I know quite a few of the staff and always receive a good level of service therefore when wishing to make another purchase it is the first place I go to. The latest purchase was straight forward and pleasurable.

Clean fresh premises. With no exception ,staff from reception to head of sales were efficient and effective. There was no hard sell. Questions were answered in a pleasant manner. Nothing seemed too much trouble, WELL DONE.

Helpful staff, no pressure from salesmen at initial visit. Good test drive, able to answer questions and queries and allowed us to use media to compare prices, insurance etc. Good all round service. Handover of vehicle was good, all explained well. Disappointed in lack of service on vehicle before handover - offered reduced price after purchase

My wife and I bought a Sportage last month and our experience was below average. Firstly the positives: 1) The car is a good make (so far), 2) the garage is clean, tidy and friendly. 3) I received replies to my emails. But, there was a string of errors from various departments. Our view is that the buck stops with the person you’re dealing with. i.e. The Salesman. 1. At the point of placing the deposit, we clearly informed the salesman several times to make sure the paperwork is done in my wife’s name, it wasn’t. 2. At the point of purchasing, we were told we had to wait minimum 24 hrs to pick-up, it’s their policy. (Over two decades, I have bought numerous cars from main dealers, never come across this before). Let’s say for a moment, this is my fault - but if the policy is so important, involving £1,000s why do they not send a quick 24 hr reminder? Email, text, phone, anything? They knew which day we were picking up. Apparently, we were informed when placing the deposit, but we were being rushed out of the building for closing time. On the other hand, it suits them to make a quick sale before shutting up. 3. At the point of pick-up, the valet on the outside was absolutely fine, no problems. But inside, it was like they decided to spray all the cleaning chemicals, and leave it at that. I could see the spray everywhere. Later, they did rectify this by re-valeting from scratch. 4. At home, the log book arrived, you guessed it – in the wrong name. Although I showed it to the salesman, (and he told me how to correct it), he said it was the admin team’s fault. At this point I took it upon myself to sort out with the DVLA directly, as I lost all trust with them when it comes to paperwork. 5. When I discussed I was being rushed, I was told in a rude manner that we had already spent 3 hours there! Which business says they don’t want their customer’s attention? After-all, I’m not buying Fruit & Veg here, it’s a big-ticket item, need time to make the right choice. And we still went ahead to buy the car. Overall, our view is that the car is right for us and it’s a nice purchase. The garage over-looks the small detail, which then snowballs into bigger problems. So buy, but double, even treble check everything.

I hadn't considered a Seat before as a car and my gym instructor talked to me about his Seat , sat me in it and basically told me how great it was. Go see Matthew Newell he said. I had a list of different cars I wanted to test drive already , juke, BMW, mini .. they left me with something missing - not that wow factor after driving them. Decided to follow my gym instructors advice , why not!! Went to specifically to see Matthew , he was friendly with the right personal approach - not pushy but supportive , listened and advised. I took a FR Ibiza out , 'oh my' amazing inside, drive and it just felt so right. Beautiful responsive drive. I ordered my new one there and then , and I have had it about 4 weeks now. I still squeal with delight at it as much as the first day I got my car. I didn't enjoy driving long distances before - now I do. My gym instructor had suggested I go to Seat , but Matthew clinched it with his great down to earth approach , nothing was a problem ... I would recommend SGPetch Seat and Matthew to my friends and family no hesitation. The car , what can I say ... it speaks for itself .. fab !

Very good, pleasant, easy to talk too. Down point is the car I bought wasn't checked over at all with all the tyres pressures down by at least 10 psi from where they should be, no washer fluid when I jumped in the car with warning lights on. Little things which should of been done. but the service was still good. Just need to make sure they do all there checks next time!!
