Low price. Poor customer communications. First they took my shoe order, then informed me they were out of stock. They got it backwards. The way they should have managed the sale: First a merchant's supposed to 1. know what is and is not in their stock, 2. inform the customer you're out of stock before the order is accepted, 3. tell the customer when you'll be able to ship the item. 4. The customer then decides whether to place the order., 5. What Shoes International actually did: SI took the order, then informed me they were out of stock.

The Shoes International website only offered my 3 colours of slippers in my size. I ordered 1 pair in dark brown and 2 in mocca. I then received an email saying that Shoes International was out of stock of mocca in my size, but they did have wine. This was a surprise as wine was not a coloured that had been offered to me on the website. After some correspondence, I decided to change my two pairs of mocca to loden on the understanding that I would need to wait for the manufacturers to confirm availability. I also request that all three pairs should be sent at the same time (so that that I did not have to wait in for more than one delivery). The next email I received confirmed that the colour loden was available. I then received a shipment notice to say mocca pair was being shipped and my credit card charged, so I phoned up to ask for it to be held until the other two pairs could be shipped at the same time, which was agreed to. The next email said that my credit card had been refused with the message: REJECTED BY THE VENDOR RULE BASE. My credit card provider confirmed that they had approved the transaction but it had been rejected by the people Shoes International use to collect card payments. I phoned Shoe International to ask what had happened but no one was able to help other than to offer me another way to pay for my two remaining pairs, which I did. I then received an email telling me that two pairs were to be shipped: one dark brown and the other mocca. I telephoned Shoes International to say that I was expecting one pair of dark brown and two of loden, but their shipment emails said differently. I was assured that the changes were being handled outside of their system and that I would receive the colours which I had ordered. This seemed unlikely to me at the time, but it is difficult to gainsay what you have been told. The delivery arrived: one pair of dark brown, one of loden and one of mocca. I did not have the energy to complain.

Dear Customer Thank you for leaving a review regarding your ordering experience. Your order did take longer than we would usually expect and we are sorry for any disappointment this might have caused. As a small family run independent company, customer experience is very important to us. Your order was received at 16:24 on a Friday, and on the following Monday we advised you that it would take 6 to 8 working days. Our tracking information indicates that it took exactly 8 working days from this point. Stock re-orders have take a little longer than usual in recently months due to a combination of COVID and Brexit causing shipping delays. Happily these delays have now been resolved. Dear Sir, I ordered a pair of shoes on the 19th march. I was told that they were in stock but they were not. They arrived on 22nd April. Approx 6 wks later.If they were not in stock the customer should know.

Dear Customer Thank you for your review, we are sorry to hear you were unhappy with your experience ordering from us. Your order was placed at 16:36 on a Friday, and we sent an email the following Monday morning including this exact phrase: "..There is a slight delay as we have to obtain further stock from Germany. " We endeavour to ensure our website is an accurate reflection of available styles, but occasionally we do need to re-order stock. This usually only takes a matter of a few days - but due to the extra-ordinary circumstances of both Brexit and COVID orders have been delayed beyond anything we might have expected. Despite making excellent preparations for Brexit, the brand concerned was subject to multiple failed deliveries due to their courier - orders were delivered and sent back to Germany on at least three separate occasions. Fortunately these problems have been resolved now, but we do understand your disappointment, and we apologise again for the delay. We hope that we may be of better service again in the future. Whilst we endeavour to ensure our website represents an accurate reflection of available footwear, very occasionally we may fall short and require to restock. Usually this would take less than a week in the case of the brand you ordered. The combined problems of COVID and Brexit lead to extraordinary delays and problems - with stock being sent back and forth between the UK and Germany because of new customs regulations. No tracking once order leaves U.K. , one order took 3 weeks to arrive , still waiting for first order to arrive , it’s been almost a month, no idea where it is except that it’s left the UK

initially I found the shoes I wanted on your site, but it was impossible to organize contact and pay for the goods via your site. Eventually your staff let me pay on 'phone. so shoes were paid for and delivered. I could have easily given up!

Dear Customer We are sorry that you remain disatisfied with our choice of shipping agent. As you know, because of problems with the security of parcels being sent to your country we have had to improve the security of our shipping which involves a higher cost. We believe customers would be happier paying a higher amount and receiving their footwear rather than the cheaper option which was frequently resulting in non deliveries. It does appear that you were subjected to additional unusal inconvenience which we had not expected and has not been experienced by our customers prior to your order. We are very sorry about this. Ordered a pair of maroon shoes as advertised on-line then told only brown available which were delivered about 10 days later....shoes are good but disappointed with original pair not being available.

I asked for the shoes to be left in the porch but instead they went to my local post office which meant a trip to town and to carry them back. There was someone at the property evenings.

Unfortunately, despite including customer instructions with parcels, these are not followed by the Postman or Courier. I ordered some Waldlaufer summer lace-ups in February but was disappointed to hear that they weren't in stock and were still being made at the factory. I decided to wait, but they didn't come into stock until the beginning of April. In the end I bought a similar pair elsewhere. Communication has mostly been good but I did miss the email saying they were in stock as the header still said 'awaiting' and I didn't scroll down to see 'customer response'. This experience has been disappointing, but I would shop here again.

Ordered sandals on line. Got an email to say should be with me in 3-5 days, then another email several days later to say will be with me in 7-10 days. Sandals are as expected and comfortable but don’t expect to wait nearly 2 weeks for something that is in sale

Whilst the price was good, the website did not detail whether items were in stock or not, and therefore whether they would be delayed. Delivery took a lot longer than I hoped. The shoes, though, when they arrived were fine - a reasonable stop-gap until I can afford a decent pair ...

We very much regret the delay in getting the footwear to you - though I do note that we advised you of the likely delay within one working day of receiving the order. All retailers run low on stock from time to time, but we understand that it is frustrating when it causes delays for our customers - which is why we endeavour to inform them as soon as possible and keep them updated. The stock available on line should be updated more frequently. I was given a false impression that the shoes I ordered were available. Another shoe was suggested which I bought, but I did not like when it arrived. However, the return was handled promptly and courteously.

I am very sorry to hear that your parcel is still not with you as well as being disappointed and concerned to see you have valued our service as only worthy of 3 stars. However, we know that there are frequently delays with Royal Mail, Russian customs and Russian postal services particularly at this busy time of year. I see you have contacted us once before regarding this item - though at that time the parcel would not have been considered delayed and indeed was on schedule. Even with holiday delays and the other problems mentioned above your parcel has taken a little longer than most - so I checked the Russian postal service tracking myself this morning. This shows that the parcel left the Moscow distribution centre on 1st January. On this basis we would expect the parcel to be with you very imminently. Having looked into your order I see that the reason they arrived late was because they did not pass our quality control and we had to re-order them from the factory.
