I have mixed feelings on the service from Shoes International. I ordered some shoes on behalf of my mom (which we can only find on this site). I placed the order, with no notification that the stock was unavailable. The order went through with notification of a reasonable lead time. I then received communication saying that there was no stock, and that the factory would have to do a special run to make the shoes - This would delay the order by 10-12 weeks. They were committed, and the order arrived correctly, so that was good. If I buy again from them, I'll definitely first check if stock is actually available, and not take what the site indicates.

Dear Customer Thank you for your review. We are sorry to here of your reservations about our service. Our customer service reputation is very important to us - we do not want any of our customers to have reason to be dissatisfied. The brand you purchased offer a wonderful range of footwear - with very many sizes fittings and styles. It would simply not be possible to stock all of these - so whilst we do stock hundreds of styles in our warehouse, we also offer styles which are available to order from the manufacturer. We do list this in our terms and conditions on the website. Many of our customers are delighted with this service - and because they know the quality of the footwear they will be getting they are very happy to wait. We always endeavour to inform customers immediately regarding the likely delivery time. We are also available by live chat, telephone and email for any stock enquiries. I note that we advised you of the delay the day after your order was placed. I cannot see evidence of us having given you a misleading lead time prior to this - if we have, it would be very helpful for me to see a copy of this if you still have it. I hope this explanation has better explained the way our service works and if there is anything further we can do to help either now or with future orders, please do not hesitate to contact us? The delivery procedure was not satisfactory. We live in a gated community and Parcel Force will not even bother to come through the gate. I had to phone their office many times to find the location of my parcel. I finally asked to have it delivered to a local post office so I could collect it from there a week after it was dispatched by you. This was v frustrating as I was leaving for Canada mid May. This was my first International purchase, and I didn't realize what a hassle it would be. I had to send a current bill with my name on it to verify the credit card, and it took over a month or longer to receive the shoes. Don't get me wrong. The shoes are terrific, but they were too big. The company graciously agreed to send a new pair if I returned the ones I had received, but I could only see problems with that--postage to England, wrong size still?? So, I opted to keep the shoes even though they don't fit. I have a pair of Romika boots and love them and thought when I told them what size they were, it would work. Unfortunately, it did not.

Dear Mrs Lipperman Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of our services. I am sorry to discover that you are unhappy with the service you have received. Having examined your order I see that the delay in despatched was caused by problems with the transactions on your card. At first the card transaction was declined by your bank. Subsequently our bank advised that we should obtain proof that the card was indeed being used by the owner. This is probably because it was the first time you had used it for an international purchase. If the banks see any behaviour which is out of the ordinary they will challenge it. I hope you will agree that this is good security protocol designed to stop fraudulent use of credit cards. I note that the boots did not fit you which of course is disappointing, but I am sure you will appreciate is not something we could have anticipated. I hope this incident will not discourage you from making further international orders - we send many shoes to the US and the mast majority of our US customers are very happy with the service. No shoes have yet been received - we have been told one pair will not be vailable until June and the other pair is still awaited - wrong size sent.

Dear Customer Thank you for your review - we are very sorry that this order has had these problems. I understand that the wrong size was in a box marked with the correct size - however - we should have checked this before despatch which would have prevented this error. We then experienced further delay as we had to order another pair from Ecco for you. We try to offer our customers the full range of Ecco shoes - both from our warehouse and Ecco's stock. In the vast majority of cases we can obtain stock from Ecco within 2-3 days. I am sorry that this was not the case with your other pair - it is usual for there to be such a long wait. I ordered a pair of boots this time. I thought that as they were on the website, they'd be in stock, but they weren't. I received an e-mail telling me they were on order but was not told I'd have to wait for some time. When they did arrive, I think it was about six weeks. It would have been good if someone had told me to expect that much of a delay as I was left wondering if I'd ever get them. So it would be good if you could sharpen up your communications when something like this happens as I nearly bought what I wanted elsewhere, which if I'd have done that, I would have ended up returning the ones I ordered from you - then I'd have felt bad because everyone's time would have been wasted, not to mention the cost of postage.

Dear Mrs Smith Thank you for your review. Having looked through your order I can see more than one issue which has led to this adverse experience and I can only apologise for the delays. We have been dealing with Mephisto for many years and I cannot recall us leaving a customer waiting for two weeks without even letting them know when their footwear will arrive. It would seem that there were problems with the order we placed with Mephisto which added to the delays - but we should have kept you abreast of this. Please be assured your experience is unusual. The shoes were received in a good condition and are a very good fit. I waited for them for a long time. This was due to an improper handling of the virtual number of my credit card. These numbers should not be entered manually by vendors, my bank said. I would have received the shoes much sooner had my credit card been used correctly. Krzysztof Obrebski

Sandels took longer than the predicted 5-7 working days to arrive, in fact it was nearly 2 weeks from the order. However they are what I wanted and they fit so am pleased to have got them - at a reduced price from the high street shops.

Didn't have either of the pairs if shoes I had ordered despite them showing a in stock. But they did offer alternative which I think were slightly more expensive which they gave me for the cheaper amount of the original shoes. Would be nice if stocktaking system worked better but good customer service.

Although the same in nearly every respect as another pair they dont have the 'give.' They hurt and are just not wide enough.

The slippers were quite good, based on shoes international sizing, we had to accept a different colour as the ones ordered were not available for three weeks. We had no notice on site that these were not currently available, so involved three emails and phone call to ascertain that, rather than waiting, we could have an alternate colour. This would have been much simpler if the site had notified us when placing the order that the colour was out of stock, as all other sites do. It involved a delay of three days before we could get the colour changed - and another three for the shoes to be delivered when they were urgently needed as my mother in law, who needed them had damaged her old ones and at the expensive cost for these unusually wide slippers, we expected better service. The slippers were actually 1cm too large as opposed to another pair of shoes, sourced elsewhere fitting exactly. (both identified as the identical size). We remedied the slipper problem with very thick socks. However, all round not a positive experience with Shoes international.

Dear Mrs Prosser I am sorry to hear that you have reason to be unhappy with our service. We do state on our website that we try to offer everything that is not just in our own warehouse but also available to order from the manufacturer. We try to keep the website up to date - but unfortunately the manufacturers do not always update us immediately when an item is out of stock or delayed. With regard to the sizing, we offer returns for wrong sizes - and if indeed the item has been incorrectly sized as you describe we would have refunded your return shipping too. I hope we can be of service to you again in future. you should learn from aliexpres. way? to expensive with the import tax i had to pay. please learn how the chines making it . i order a lot from them and never had to pay import tax. otherwise the product is fine. please response. boozys@gmail.com

Good website and very informative about styles & sizes etc. My only 'gripe' was the amount of time from placing the order to receipt of the goods was about 9 days - that's a bit slow by e-commerce standards these days.

Unfortunately due to the large range of Tilley Hats available it is difficult for us to keep all sizes and colours in stock all of the time. We had to re-order your hat which explains the delay in you receiving the order. However, having reviewed your order I cannot understand why we took so long to acknowledge your order and why you were not better informed regarding the order process. I will be looking into this to try to ensure it does not happen again. The vast majority of our orders for Tilley Hats are fulfilled within 4-7 working days, which given the free shipping, we think is competitive. My 1st PO tooked 7 days from despatch via Parcel Force. 2nd PO is still in clear yet via Royal Mail, because tracking report shows no detail status history, and not matching to local poster service's report.
