“I have just been to my Vets4Pets for my dogs vaccinations…I casually asked him to check his microchip as I know they can move around. Imagine my shock to discover that he had no microchip even though in his documentation it said that he had been with a smartchip numbered label. I even sent the details off when I got him. Three years unchipped….not very good…thank goodness I checked…not only is it illegal but he could have been lost or stolen and I may not have got him back!!! Needless to say he is now!”

The previous owners had no idea the puppy was chipped when they purchased the dog May 2014.
When they purchased the dog it was suppose to be a Male Labrador which was from somewhere in Kent as far as they could remember and not kept any of the details of the location.
Sometime in between the birth of the pup and being sold it was micro-chipped but not recorded.
The dog it's self is Female, (NOT MALE) Black, Labrador's head and tail but, Jack Russell size height and body.
Can you through some light on this.

“I have recently re homed a dog therefore contacted them to update the chip information. I admit i didn't have all the relative information on my first call but the same lady who I spoke to on several occasions was basically clueless (definitely more training needed). She did tell me she hadn't worked for the company long and I understand everyone has to learn, but time after time she couldn't answer my questions and didn't ring back when she said she would which was really frustrating, in the end it was a joke and I was very disappointed in the service. I have always used Petlog in the past and will certainly do so in the future!”

I phoned your helpline, was greeted by an answer phone message asking me to leave details to be contacted shortly. I was never contacted.

“Had problems with the website and took me several weeks and many attemps to register the details of the micorchip. Phoned customer services to get the details registered where I was told it was an 'online service' and if I wanted/needed to register over the phone it would cost me £10!”
“Cheap, fast delivery - cannot register chips online as all chip numbers are "not recognised", No customer service at weekends. Really embarrassing and frustrating to be stuck with owners, chips, animals and no way of completing for over 48 hours. Not AT ALL good for my business. Will not use again.”
“I mistyped my phone number in the registration process. My fault naturally, but SmartChip wanted me to pay to fix it. My other pet is registered with another chip company. Andres changes there are for free. Shame on SmartChip.”
