“We stayed at Maestranza for a week and our experience of Solaga and the apartment were great. The service and communication from Solaga and the owner of the property were excellent from start to finish. The property itself was comfortable and clean and in a fantastic location! The owner was very friendly and spoke good English. She met us promptly at the apartment at the beginning and end of our week and there were no problems with getting our deposit back. The apartment is five minutes walk from the beach and Muelle Uno and the area is peaceful with a few really nice local restaurants. There's a small supermarket across the road but we preferred the larger one, Mercadona, which is about five minutes by foot. The walk into the old town of Malaga was only about 15 minutes and it was a lovely stroll through the park. We had no problems with any noise whatsoever, we could not hear anything from the street. The building is not great when it comes to soundproofing but the residents seemed to be respectful of each other. The only time we heard anything was each evening the neighbours were having dinner, there was some chatter and sounds from behind our bedroom wall but this all finished around 10pm and it really wasn't a problem at all. I would like to add, I am a very light sleeper and any noise will be a problem for me, and I had no issues. There were just a couple of suggestions I would like to make for improvements; The apartment could do with having a little vacuum cleaner as coming back from the beach you tend to bring grains of sand back in your shoes/ clothes! Also, the bathroom could do with having just one shelf where you can put your toiletries. Also, there is a dishwasher so it would be nice if the owner could leave just 2-3 dishwasher tablets so that the customer doesn't have to pay for a large box of these. Other than that it was all perfect! Great size kitchen too with all necessary utilities! I would highly recommend this apartment!”

“Overall, a spacious apartment in a good location for sightseeing in Malaga, convenient for the rail and bus stations. We contacted Solaga about a few small problems that we had with the apartment e.g. a loose toilet seat and were impressed with the quick response time and repair. The Solaga personnel we met were courteous and helpful. We would be happy to stay here again.”

“Our Solaga apartment was pleasant, bright, modern and clean. However, it was not a suitable apartment for a family wanting a restful holiday. The neighbours were quiet but it was impossible to get a night of undisturbed sleep. Motorbikes (or scooters) are popular and the apartment is situated on Calle de la Victoria which is a busy road. Motorbikes were revving up to 1.00am and from 6.00am and in between lorries and trucks did their bit to ensure a noisy night. Then, in the apartment building itself, if anyone flushed a toilet in a nearby flat you'd know about it. In terms of the quality of accommodation, there was no full length mirror although there was ample wall space to accommodate at least one. The sinks in the bathrooms were impossibly small. It would have been easy to increase their size and put storage on the walls. The plumbing was not the freshest.There were odd odours in the bathrooms for no reason. Finally, it would have been helpful if there was a welcome pack with information about buses, trains, shop opening hours, places to visit, etc. We have stayed in apartments and houses before where this was provided and it was much appreciated. Overall, the lack of sleep spoilt the holiday and I would not recommend this apartment for that reason. On arrival, we were exhausted and very much in need of a restful week, but we left feeling worse than when we had arrived. Solaga should warn guests about the noise and give them the opportunity to book a quieter apartment.”

First of all, I am sorry you had such a bad experience and I would like to add a few comments to your review feedback. Malaga is a big city and it is correct that there can be traffic and noise especially from scooters. Here in Malaga unfortunately the rubbish is always collected at night. To prevent that being a problem, the apartment was fully renovated in 2015 with uPVC double glazed windows. I am not sure if you closed them at night, because if so then this should have reduced any street noise. The sinks in the bathrooms were carefully selected by the home owner to match the design of the bathrooms and they are exactly the same as the ones you can see on the photos on the advert. Maybe they are not to your taste and if so, I would like to apologize for that. Regarding plumbing, then I would again like to mention, that the apartment was completely renovated in 2015 and that goes for the pipes too. We do provide both maps and information of Malaga and they can be found in the living room. It might have been that we didn’t show it to you because of the very late arrival and flight delay. However, we like your idea of a bigger mirror and we will look into it as soon as possible. Regards

“Pros Great location right in the heart of the old town. Lovely roof terrace. Met by a very friendly caretaker Cons Very small kitchen that's only just adequate for self-catering. Quite a small bed. Quite expensive compared to the much bigger apartment we had in Seville”

“We spent 14 days in this lovely apartment Febryary 2016, We loved Malaga and have already booked for next year. The flat var very nice and clean. You have everything you need|. And the location was so perfect nearby the beach and such a nice way to go into the town. The taxi driver was very nice and told us a lot on the way. The nice girl from Solaga gave us good instruction when we arrived. We will recommend the apartment and Solaga. Looking forward to next year :-) Brita and Fritz from Norway”

“After over thirty years of renting holiday apartments in Europe this was considered by us to be the best (amongst many very good ones) and we found the Solaga administration impeccable. Furnishing and equipment was everything that could be required (except, perhaps, electric shutters), location at the edge of the historic, pedestrian area was excellent and within a few minutes El Corte Ingles store/supermarket available. Approach to apartment through first-class, well-maintained building interior with lifts.”

“Everything was perfect from beginning to end. Solaga-team answered almost immediately when sending email. The reservation and paying was easy to do. After landing to airport "mariam" called us before we even had thought to call him. We checked in right away when arrived. Our apartment "frailes" was in a perfect location just near the towncentre. It was very clean, quiet and nicely furnished. WiFi connection was very good. If I have to say something negative, I missed a big ovenpan. But that's all negative to say. Check out was made day before because Our flight departed so early in the morning. Definitely recommend solaga and frailes to everybody. Rarely everything goes so perfectly from beginning to end! !!!! 10/10.”

“Stayed in Mitjana apartment April 2-6. Very well appointed and equipped apartment. Very comfortable beds. The first night, Saturday, was extremely noisy through to the early hours. After deciding to book the apartment, I was taken aback to be asked for additional fees for cleaning and WiFi. These services are taken for granted and should be included in the advertised price. As our flight was delayed we ended up paying a 30€ late fee, so we ended up paying 20% more than the advertised price. Left us feeling rather annoyed especially as the WiFi did not work properly. The apartment is situated in the heart of the historical centre of Malaga and like most cities does tend to get a bit busy at night. With regards to the internet we are looking at this is now being included in the advertised price as we do for all our other apartments. I understand from our previous email correspondence that you were not aware of some crucial information before you arrival as you unfortunately had not read through the client confirmation when you booked. This would have explained most of the details that have caused you concern. “We were 2 couples on a short break in Malaga staying in the Mercedes apartment. The apartment suited our needs in every way. The location overlooking the square was excellent, and the terrace facilities superb for sundowners over the city skyline. The apartment was newly decorated and very well equipped. It was very clean and had all the facilities and comfort we required. The management of our stay was very straightforward. We were met at the apartment where everything was explained.”

“Fantastic location and a very comfortable apartment with a great roof terrace, we really enjoyed the view. Despite being in the centre of the old city, the building is on a cul de sac, and on the fourth floor, so is very quiet.”

“Very nice, small apartment. We especially enjoyed the roof terrace and being really in the centre. We missed a comfortable chair and some small other convenient things, but we were there in November and I have forgotten. Overall we had a very nice time.”

“We stayed at the Susana for 18 days and enjoyed every moment The apartment was lovely, clean and very tastefully decorated. The view from the spacious balcony was breathtaking any time of day or night The location is excellent, close to all the sights and to the center of town and the beach. We felt very comfortable there and hated to leave......we will be back for sure. Susana is a lovely person to deal with.”

“Superb apartment in centre of Old Town pretty well within walking distance of everything. Kitchen well stocked with all we needed and the beds are really comfortable. Arrangements for access and getting the key worked well. Don't miss the glass museum on your tour as it is one of a kind and well worth spending a few hours browsing the contents. Also make use of the train station and visit further afield. Tickets are cheap and you should apply for a tarjeta dorada for six euros which gives discount on fares but remember to take passport with you to the station. It is valid for one year. We avoided the beach front area when a cruise ship was in for all the usual reasons. Malaga is a wonderful area to stay for a week and is enchanting. Great food, bars, art, ancient buildings and friendly locals. Mrs J Meek and party.”
