“Beware of this travel agent. They will misspell your name on your ticket which you can't use for traveling. On contacting them, they will demand £50 for amendment or £70 for cancellation. That's their way of selling what you think was a cheap ticket. I wrote three letters to the head of this company with no response. I also spoke to their HR manager who was obviously part of the wrong doing.”
“There is a manager called Paul aka Paras Marwah who takes advantage of women. He is a so called manager of Southall Travel. He is a dovorcee , has two children but still takes advantage of women who join this agency for petty salary increment and promotion.”
“Southall Travel duped us of our money and spoiled our recent trip to India.
We booked tickets to India for December'21 via Southall travel. The tickets had to be changed to April'22 since my family got COVID. At the time of booking they suggested Lufthansa as the cheapest flight available (they charged a hefty fee for this change as well). We unknowingly fell into the trap. After this they sent us the travel information which included covid test requirements for the travel. Please note that we were in touch with Southall travel customer care till a day before travel and they kept providing information about flight changes, web check-in, meal selection etc.
On the day of travel, we reached Heathrow 4 hours before the flight, queued up to the check-in counter for 3.5 hours, only to realise that we would not be allowed to board the flight.
THIS WAS APPARENTLY DUE TO AN YEAR OLD RULE BY GERMANY THAT MAKES TRANSIT VISA MANDATORY FOR ALL FLIERS (even for couple of hours layover).
SOUTHALL TRAVELS DID NOT INFORM US ABOUT THIS NEW TRAVEL RULE. They should have brought this to our notice at the time of offering tickets via Germany. When contacted, they refused to offer any support. We had to buy new Air India tickets at current prices.
Not a single dime was refunded on tickets via Lufthansa and Southall travels refused to take responsibility citing that it was customer's responsibility to find out and not agent's responsibility to inform.
Till date Southall travels is refusing to take responsibility of the entire episode.
DO NOT BOOK YOUR TRAVEL VIA SOUTHALL TRAVEL. THEY ARE DUPING CUSTOMERS BY SELLING UNUSABLE TICKETS TO THEM AnD GETTING RID OF THEIR UNSALEABLE INVENTORY AT UNSUSPECTING CUSTOMER'S COST!”
“This company is the worst I have ever dealt with. They are quick to take your money, but when there is an issue they won't help you. They have taken a lot of money for a holiday which cannot happen now due to the coronavirus.
UK Foreign Office have advised against travel and the hotel and airline are willing to give me a refund. However, Southall Travel are not passing it on.
Each time I contact them, I repeat everything and they are giving me false information saying which contradicts what is on the websites of the airline and hotel.
Law states that they should give me a full refund within 2 weeks but they are not. They are telling me it will take 6-8 weeks for a credit not. THIS IS ILLEGAL.
They want me to use my travel insurance or credit card to get my money back, so they are off they hook. They know credit cards will get it back from the merchant acquirer (payment bank) and not Southall Travel, so they will keep our money.
They lie when you contact them. They tell me they will call or email back and they don't.
Finally, if you take a look at their public company records, the owners took £30M out of their company accounts last year. They live in a nice big house and are very rich, but they don't give their customers their money back. Shameful.
PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS.”
