Spark energy is worst company government have yo ban this company and close asap. They rip the people like every one saying . I always keep up to date i bedn told £2318 i owe them. I am going to say goodbye to spark energy today and i hope i will hear some news in future thd company is closed. Dont use spark energyoh

Absolutely the worst company I have ever had the displeasure of using. And to top it all off they have now set up a second direct debit without my permission, when my account was in credit, to take another £90. The most trash energy supplier I have ever dealt with.

Wouldn't even give one star if I didn't have to. Where do I start with this horrendous company which have caused me nothing but stress and anxiety to the point of panic attacks. I paid over the average per month for a single parent 2 bedroom household of £85 per month. They were informed numerous times of the faulty meter and out of the 13 months of living in my previous home, no one came to fix it. When I moved out they then sent a final bill of over....wait for it.... £4,000!!!! I was getting harassed by their debt collectors until I took it to the ombudsman. They then lied and said the meter wasn't faulty (everything is on record that it was, even a member of their team told me it was and the local council informed them too). They then said I wasn't due the £4,000 anymore (surprise surprise after stating I've spoken to the ombudsman) but I was due £937 on top of what I had already paid to them in the 13 months, taking my bill to over £2,000 for a year!!! They thought I was zipped up the back due to my vulnerability and additional needs. They took advantage of this. No apology for the initial £4,000 mistake either. Very aggressive and condescending emails. Still waiting on ombudsman sorting out this incompetent company.

Awful scam company. The energy you will pay will be 3 times the energy you will use. Spark is a scam company that overcharge you, prevent you to switch to other suppliers (they stopped my switch 4 times despite having paid all their bills) and that it is impossible to contact except when you have to pay their very expensive bills. In that case you will be stalked by phone and email every day

The worst company I've ever had to deal with. Problems with over billing, taking large amounts of money out my account without permission or warning, faulty meter readings. Always kept up to date with payments, but apparently owe them £1200.. So difficult to communicate with as they never call or email back, you go round in circles with a new member of the team everytime. An impossible situation with this company!!!! Stay well clear.

The worst company I've ever had to deal with. Over pricing, terrible communication, had so many issues with this energy provider over 18 months and am still trying to resolve them now. Never missed a payment and now I've moved house and apparently owe them £1200. Trying to sort this out is extremely difficult, as they never ring or email back when they say they will.. it's an impossible situation.. with a frustrating team!! Stay well clear!!

This company is very dishonest, I do not know how they sleep at night. They blantently lie to you. They want 500 for an empty flat. Then they want proof it was empty, they ask for a picture of the reading, now I have it, they do not want to see it. Lying is there policy, have to ring them up tomorrow after doing a 10 hour shift!!!!!!!

Don't go near, was told I was on fixed rate £46 monthly no extra payments. 3 months later they took £139 out with no notice. Phoned them up & was told I should have been told this, argued that I wasn't & she suddenly couldn't understand what I was saying!! #unts

Spark Energy should be avoided like the plague. They will take unauthorised amounts from your account, up to x3 the agrees amount. They will ignore meter readings and estimate that you owe them up to x3 the agreed bill. I have been harassed up to 12 x a day for money I don't owe. I even tried to leave and they stopped me leaving as a result of an imaginary sum they said I owed. If you use this company you are opening a big can of worms for yourself.

When you ask to close the account and I’m credit, they than add readings to your final bill so they try and avoid the amount that your in credit. When you have proof of the readings on the meter and also the credit that you have they ignore you. Absolute con artists even with evidence from their own staff of the credit

The worst consumer experience of my life, 6 years of hell. They've tarnished my once perfect credit score through their consistent incompetence, even worse, after spending 12 hours a week on the phone for over a year, I blame this company for seriously impacting my mental health. Breeching legislation and their contractual obligations is common practice. Charging what they want, when they want is standard practice (as a single homeowner, I was regularly left without food or essential items due to random 200%increases in direct debits) Which, Martin Lewis, OFGEM.... Please bring this company down, they are literally destroying lives!! (Ps. I'm a professional and one of those folk who would say with confidence 'it only happens to people who do something wrong or who don't pay on time') it did happen to me and it could happen to you too. Avoid this company at all costs!

Avoid, Avoid, Avoid... This company has the attitude that fraud is a natural occurrence when using Spark Energy. They can only be described as an OCG (organised crime group) I can’t even describe how disgustingly revolting this company are. They should have the license revoked and be thrown in jail...

Ridiculous tariffs and incompetence - if you are considering them, look into companies like Pure Planet, Igloo, Green Network, Neon Reef, Symbio and Orbit Energy. They have waaaaay better tariffs, most of them have green energy and you can also expect better customer service. If you are not convinced, please continue reading. I don't think I have ever left a review here ever, but this company is a joke. I have recently switched from Spark to another supplier. I have paid my outstanding balance and I thought that would be it. Boy, was I wrong! Firstly, Spark has conveniently forgotten to cancel my direct debit and although I have received their 'Sorry to see you go' bill I continued to be charged through the direct debit within the following month. After contacting Spark to let them know of the error, I was given 2 options: a) wait until the money reaches them and then another 14 days or so to receive a refund; or b) to call my bank and cancel that transaction and the direct debit myself (so basically do their job for them). I opted for option b) as that would guarantee me a refund within the day. All good, got my money back and, again, I thought this would be it. Wrong again! The next month I get hit with a 'We're getting ready to pass your account to a debt collection agency.' email, at which point I start another neverending journey of phone calls and queues. First I am being told by Spark that when I cancelled my direct debit, the bank has also cancelled the transaction previous to the one that needed cancelling - this makes no sense since when I made the request with my bank to cancel the erroneous transaction I received the money within the day, and this time the money allegedly came to me 2 months later. I am also very much encouraged to make the payment over the phone to clear my balance - I, of course, refuse since I did not receive any refund and I need to check with my bank. The bank confirms what I already knew - the request I made was only for one transaction and there has been no other request for the second transaction to be cancelled too, also they confirm that no refund has been issued for the second transaction. I go back to Spark (again queues, waste of time, etc.), explain the situation and ask for the issue to be clarified and 'my debt' to be settled. I am faced with a very ironic 'you have outstanding balance because you made a second request to your bank for a refund' (after I have already explained that I did not make any such request). What is the solution then? - I am told that I need to present proof that I did not receive the refund and provide bank statements so they can check and look into it - are you freaking serious? After I waste all this time for your stupidity and incompetence, I am still the one to have to prove myself and waste my time. Absolutely ridiculous! UPDATE: I have been harassed everyday since with a text message, an email and a phone call (every other day). Called again and been told that they will raise a query with their Finance Department (which I think should have been done the first time I called). I requested the harassment to stop in the meantime since this is being handled and I have been told the messages cannot be stopped.

Customer Service is absolutely abysmal. I've been told different stories on no less than three separate occasions. I've spent HOURS on the phone to them trying to get some resolution and have asked for things to be emailed to me and they never arrive which means yet another phone call to complain about them not sending something through.

Worst company. Customer service is shockingly terrible. Not once have I had a good experience dealing with the spark team; they never follow through on anything and bills constantly incorrect. Can't wait to leave spark.
