The store is an absolute joke, the customer service is appalling. They treat you like you are a piece of dirt and the manager Muks is so arrogant its unbelievable. Went in to get some new glasses and its been a nightmare from start to finish, rude staff and when you query there is an issue with the glasses they dont want to help. Avoid this place.

Took my mum for an eye test, was there one and a half hours. To many appointments booked in and not enough staff. The waiting between each service was horrendous.

I experienced a cluster of migraines in June, which is most unusual and after discussing the matter with my doctor, suggested I arrange a visit to my optician for checks. Made arrangements with Specsaver staff who were very pleasant, and referred me to Jude Edwards who chatted over my problem and booked me in very quickly. Although my visit was not for an eye test, on the day Jude carried out thorough checks and explained them to me, which diagnosed no serious eye problems after all. What a relief, very reassuring, thank you! I was very happy to pay the small fee. Excellent service.

Bought two pairs of glasses here unfortunately the screws come loose the glass has ended up broken 3 occasions refused to repair my glasses unless I paid £70 even though it wasn’t my fault when I complained I was then told by recorded delivery letter that I was no longer welcome to go in there shops so I’ve now got two pairs of glasses which are under guarantee which they will do nothing about it so really I believe that they’ve broken their own terms and conditions but some companies think they can do what they like to the little customer

Firstly I have tried 4 times this morning and can’t get through. Says has my number but nobody rings. Secondly, after cancer treatment wanted to reimplement my lenses contract. Contacted sometime in March, was then sometime later rung back as my lenses no longer available. Had appointment 12 April and trialed lenses and then appointment 2 weeks later and 12 May. Was told would have to start new contract on 1 June. Given lenses until mine arrived, which expected by 10 June. Didn’t arrive before going on holiday had to call in on way to airport to collect spares. Came home last night to find wrong solution and wrong lenses posted. Not told price increase of £5 and would be a delay. Was told because some people don’t pay! You have never EVER had a problem with my payment, in fact spent a lot of money last year on several pairs of glasses! To say I am cross is an understatement having to keep coming and going to the store and it is now July and I still don’t have my lenses! Appalling service and somebody is incompetent!

Poor customer service. Left outside in Abington Street this week 9th March before being allowed into the shop. The Optician made up for the poor customer service. Was then left waiting at a desk for measurements to be taken, had to ask someone how long the wait would be. Then after measurements were taken I was then informed that I can collect my glasses next week on their express service. Great NOT!!!!! To be handed my glasses at the front door and not allowed in for them to be fitted. What type of service is that - poor to say the least. I definitely won't be returning after I get my glasses next week. The store is very busy and chaotic not a good experience felt stressed leaving there

When we were buying three pairs of glasses for my wife, staff were very helpful and we were told to pick them up when we returned from a short holiday in the West Country. We duly went back to the shop on Friday afternoon, 4 February, 2022, to collect them. This time the service was not very friendly at all. We are both elderly and I explained we had literally just got out of the car having driven hundreds of miles and needed to use the toilet. The answer was no and the assistant did not seem to care about our discomfort. We explained it was not as if we had just come from home but had hurried straight to the store before it closed. We had spent hundreds of pounds in the store, this time and on previous occasions, and thought this was no way to treat elderly customers. I also wonder how they will respond when a mum with small children faces a similar situation while waiting -- and waiting -- to be served in the store. We will not go back there again. One star as there is no facility for zero stars.

The absolute worst customer service my parents and I have ever had to endure. If I could leave 0 stars I would! The staff were unhelpful and even when a manager was requested she was completely useless as well. Will never return and will not recommend to friends and family.

The shop had stringent measures in place during this pandemic so I felt very safe, staff were constantly cleaning surfaces & glasses that had been tried on. I had a very comprehensive eye test carried out by Jude who explained everything as he went along during the test, he offered advice and was friendly, Nothing was too much trouble. Joshua helped me pick the frames, he was really helpful and knowledgeable. Excellent service all round

Could not fault the care and attention taken for my visit during Covid. For anyone who is concerned about visiting, I found the experience good and felt very safe. Hand sanitiser used, chairs and rooms thoroughly cleaned, staff wearing masks and taking all necessary precautions and glasses cleaned after trying on every time. The new procedures seemed to give more time to customers and, for me, gave a better service - very efficient. Well done to all staff and thank you.

Awarded one star because I couldn't leave less. Customer Service, what customer service? Absolutely atrocious treatment by staff and there no quibble, no fuss guarantee isn't worth the paper it's written on. Collected my new spectacles on 6th September 2018, when I got home, I inspected the new spectacles while wearing my old ones and noticed scratches on both lenses and the frame so telephoned them straight away and was told no problem, return them, I explained that I could not return to the shop that day as I have no transport, lady said she would make a note on there system that I had telephoned them within the hour and that I would visit the shop in a few days, she said they would make up a new pair after my visit, Visited the shop 11th September and told nothing can be done as they are not covered for accidental damage!!?? I said the damage was not caused by me so I would like a replacement under there no quibble, no fuss guarantee printed on my receipt. The assistant said she would have to speak to someone else and went away, another person appeared, I think she may be the manager although she did not tell me this she certainly behaved as if she owned the store, in fact her attitude was immediately defensive and confrontational. She asked me stupid questions like "well, how do you think they were damaged" to which I replied as they had damaged them she would have more of an idea than me, she tried to get me to start an argument, but after more silly questions and talking down to me I said I was not prepared to argue, was she going to replace the spectacles or not, to which she replied in a sarcastic voice "no, I am not going to replace your glasses, I'm not doing anything", I then got up and left. As I suffer from chronic anxiety and depression this has left me feeling terrible with headaches and sleepless nights. I have now contacted Specsavers head office and am awaiting a reply. Absolutely terrible attitude and customer service, would I use them again, definitely not!!! Contacted store and website as requested, told by store that issue will be looked at by store director, but they are not available until OCTOBER, nearly a month after my complaint, will update again when they eventually decide to do something. Waste of time filling in the web form, all they do is send it to the store that you are having problems with, head office do nothing to resolve issues, useless.
