“Ordered three low-dollar items online for in-store pickup today. Drove to the retail store 2 hours after ordering. Nobody manning the pickup desk, so I got in the pay-line. When it was my turn, I told them my last name and indicated order-pickup. I was told the items hadn’t been pulled yet. Counter person said it can sometimes take 5-6 hours, or even a few days, to get online order items pulled and ready. I asked if I could just go get the items myself from the shelves, come back, match them up against my email-received receipt, and take them with me? Nope. Can’t do that. Said I would have to go home, cancel the order online, and drive back to the store. I wasn’t going to do that. Asked them if they could just cancel the order here at the checkout counter? Nope, can’t do that. Said they could give me the 1-800 number to call to cancel the order, which I called, from the parking-lot. Operator said she would submit the cancellation, but that it could take 2-3 business days to process. All of this was utterly obtuse and inconvenient. When getting home, I found that the website doesn’t allow cancellation of an order online anyway. The final insult? When I returned home I received an email that my order was ready for pickup. So much wrong with this. Never again, Sportsman’s. Long time customer who now will not spend another dime with you. The logistics were inefficient enough, but it was the we-don’t-care attitude that was acute.”
“Id give a 0 if I could they need for one to get rid of the guy that works guns evenings at the Greenwood indiana store outa there they lost my business with him super rude fellow. The store was still open an he wouldn't sell me my firearm I had ran a check on the day before said they was closed.”
“Bought a fishing pole from sportsman's Warehouse back in April of 2005. Couple months later the poll snapped while I was fishing. Brought it back to the store. They said you need to register it first went home registered. Went back to the store to exchange. They said I need a claim number. They cannot do it in store called customer service. Got a claim number. Went back to the store for a third time. The lady said I can give you a cash refund or you can exchange it for a different pole, after looking for a new pole she found me in the aisle said will mail you a gift card and then walked away. I will never shop at sportsman's Warehouse ever again. I will gladly overpay to go to Scheels or Cabela's”
“I bought a pair of soccer boots for my son in May and 3 weeks later they were starting to come apart at the seam. I took them back and the response was that my son plays soccer on gravel. I explained to them that my son DOES NOT play on gravel but at school and club soccer. They refused to assist even through these shoes are poor quality and are starting to split. I have 3 sons and buy 3-4 pairs of soccer boots from them every year and have never had this problem before (and my sons' play on the same fields as they have always played). Discovery offers discounts at another service provider so i will be buying my soccer boots from there going forward. Sportsman Warehouse also said they would get back to me in 2-3 days and it has been over a week with no follow up phone call. Very disappointing service.”
“Poor customer experience.
I bought a $3 part expecting it would be delivered to my home. But it was delivered to a store that require over an 8 hour drive to retrieve. My bad.
But the issue is they didn’t offer something reasonable like shipping it to me for the cost of shipping… no they opted for “customer changed mind”. No I didn’t. I want the part so I bought elsewhere.
Yes they refunded the cost. But they have no clue about customer support. Made my list of places not to shop.”
