“The magazine is very interesting, with several specific coffee content. But the coffee that came from the sample was a little disappointing. The experience was good at drinking a decaffeinated coffee, but his grain was very broken and ugly. I hope this Feedback helps the magazine choose better coffees. Thank you.”
“I received my first copy last Sept 9, 2022 and so far I'm loving the content. I love knowing other people's experiences about their love for coffee. I usually hang around the bar area when visiting cafes so that I can chat with the barista and talk about coffee. Room for improvement: 1. Packaging - Maybe there's a way to protect the corners. When the magazine arrived, all the corners were damaged (have creases) so it somehow ruined the receiving something new experience for me. 2. Texts on photos - Please improve templates for texts on photos like adding margins. Let me know where I can send some photos if needed :)”
“I am a new reader having received only 3 editions so far. Number 27, “Space, Toast, and Coffee” is my favorite by far. As the subtitle suggests the topics are massively diverse. They are also very visual. Even without pictures, this would be a visually stimulating publication. Every article has descriptions or word pictures that do a wonderful job painting themselves on the imagination. As with any publication, not every article was of great interest to me but I still read most if not all of every article. I do have a very minor nitpick. To me, many of the articles sound like they were written by the same person. I’m not sure if this is due to strong editorial guidelines or maybe an accepted writing style but it seems odd that all writers sound very similar.”
“Great issue that among other things included worker rights, tokyo cafes and the insights from a South African cafe owner with a shout out to my own coffee home Aotearoa/NZ. Though the topics were not new, I learned something new in all three of the articles just mentioned. Standart, however, is not a 5/5 for me. The design is just not where I'd like it to be - which is shorter articles with the option for deeper and more extended online exploration if one so wishes. More images. More texture in terms of design feel and variation. This is a tough one as variation in design can also feel fragmented and uneven. I'm looking for something simple and surprising. Both easy and challenging. It is a fine mag. I will buy again. Thanks to the editors and contributors.”
“I really liked the New issue of the magazine. The content and the articles were absolutely appealing to me and it was nice to read them. The only thing, but this is objective, was the cover of the magazine. I didn’t liked it and I planned to put it on my shelf but ended up don’t doing it because of its look and message it might show to someone. Magazine Nr. 25. I would buy it another time”
“Like how the issue taps into the gender inequality in the coffee industry. However, the articles lacks evidence or researches to backup and can sometimes be too subjective. It would be nice (and ambitious) for Standart to continue exploring the topic of sustaining the coffee business in-depth, instead of feel-good endings that sounds good but left the reader wanting for more concrete methods to actually imply in the world.”
“When Standart finally showed up in the mailbox was always a little celebration in the monotony of weeks but I must say when I first started receiving it in 2020 there seemed to be more articles that I found interesting than lately. I probably have very specific expectations and the nerdy stuff that catches my attention probably wouldn't satisfy the multitudes but it also doesn't make sense for me to get it for it for 20% of the content.”
“Really a wonderful magazine. I genuinely enjoyed this issue of standard magazine and had a wonderful time reading it. The photography was amazing and the stories were well thought out and well edited. My one gripe, however, and the reason I'm unable to give five stars is the coffee. One of the most interesting selling points of this magazine was the sample of quality specialty coffee that it would come with. Sadly this coffee was not to par. By the time I received it the coffee smelled and tasted like it was 4 to 6 weeks pass roast and had lost a lot of its unique flavor. Overall the magazine is wonderful and the reason I got my standard subscription, but I would have loved to see more purpose put into the coffee that shipped with the magazine.”
“Looking for the coffee. I love the magazine and the broad scope of the content. Also really liked checking out the Sey coffee with my first issue. However I did not receive any coffee with my second issue. I also understand from your emails that my 3rd issue is on it's way. I have not received coffee for that issue either.”
“As usual Standart was a good read. The reason for a four star review was that in this edition there were some articles which were only peripherally related to coffee. it felt like they were filling space.”
“I love the format, artwork, photography and articles. I like the mix of fairly technical information on coffee, roasting, tasting etc. and indirect effects of coffee on art culture and society. Always an interesting read. I'm not particularly interested in the "angry response to the world" articles. I understand there is plenty to be outraged about but I think the remedy for this is to stay focused on how we can make the world a better place. Keep in mind this is a minor complaint on my behalf, just though it might be helpful as feedback. A good example of this is the "Meet Your Guest" feature. Nice blend of how passion dovetails with coffee.”

“I love your magazine but unfortunately it's kinda always same people on it. i've never seen something for France and if once happened it's always the 3 same companies from Paris. Bordeaux, Marseille, Nantes, Lille now we have more and more cool roasters, coffeeshop etc. We have some cool people working hard here to do their best and serve amazing coffees ;) not always The Barn (which i really love Ralf and his company) or same people followed for decade.”
