“I like the magazine. It’s fantastic! However, each sample of coffee I received was terrible. I could tell the beans were old and in both cases (my sample size is small, two batches but still, two were both bad) bitter, hard to grind… just yuck. Not good at all.”
Thank you very much for the high mark and your kind words, Brian!
We would be grateful for any comments on what will it make 5/5 for you.

“Your production is first quality. Currently, I know of no other periodical produced on this level.
The articles cover a very broad perspective.
Not every single one is a topic for me. However
I have read every copy received so far cover to cover. Your photography is also exceptional.
Oh, the coffee. Getting a sample of roasted beans with every issue has been truly a wonderful gift. Always different. Always leaving me to want more. My hope is that you all can
continue on your current level. Thank you for
inviting the rest of us in. What on earth has ever been better than good coffee paired with good reading?”
Hey Pat! Reviews like this truly make our day here at Standart! Thank you so much for all your kind words. And, honestly, I am not aware of a better pairing than a great coffee and a stimulating read. We would certainly like to be 5/5 for you too. Which topics should we cover more, do you think?
“Hello. If the ratings were more granular I'd have given a 4.75. The small amount less than 5 stars is more a technical thing, sometimes the printed page font is too small for my old eyes and the contrast color of the font does not show well against the background color (or lack of it).
That's the negative. There is far more postive to speak to from the content and in-depth articles and personal relationships with people and the world of coffee. Keep up the fine work.”
“Love the content and the texture of the magazine, and feel so luxuriant to have beans from Europe all the way to Australia with every copies of the mag!!”
“I understand that a lot of people love that, but honestly I don't enjoy receiving stickers. They all go to the garbage, and it's just more useless plastic. I do love receiving the coffee samples, though. The content of the magazine has been a hit and miss, some articles about origins and farmers I enjoy, but a few others are not super interesting. Overall a good bedtime read still, keep up the good work!”
“I've seen plenty of mention of it, so I know y'all are on the right track for the next issue. The paper that was used on the cover of this issue is not the one. It sticks out in comparison to the other issues, from the glossy sheen to the texture, to the physical touch, even the odor.
I certainly under supply issues and I am hopeful that the next issue lives up the classic standart standard!”
“Such a unique read every time, and love the inclusion of stickers and coffee samples we would never have found otherwise. Perfect coffee table book and great for early morning reading.”
Hey Cayla! Many thanks for the review and the high mark! A perfect table book, but still 4 out of 5? What would make it 5 out of 5 for you? We are always seeking to improve!

“Lots of interviews and broad range of topics for coffee lovers. The iconography, and singularly the photography, could easily be improved but the coffee pack is always a treat.”
Many thanks for the review, Benoit! We are very glad that you enjoyed the coffee samples and the range of topics so far, and, should you like to share any more comments on the visuals, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at office@standartmag.com. I would love to share your observations with the team!

“Really a wonderful magazine. I genuinely enjoyed this issue of standard magazine and had a wonderful time reading it. The photography was amazing and the stories were well thought out and well edited. My one gripe, however, and the reason I'm unable to give five stars is the coffee. One of the most interesting selling points of this magazine was the sample of quality specialty coffee that it would come with. Sadly this coffee was not to par. By the time I received it the coffee smelled and tasted like it was 4 to 6 weeks pass roast and had lost a lot of its unique flavor. Overall the magazine is wonderful and the reason I got my standard subscription, but I would have loved to see more purpose put into the coffee that shipped with the magazine.”
“Looking for the coffee. I love the magazine and the broad scope of the content. Also really liked checking out the Sey coffee with my first issue. However I did not receive any coffee with my second issue. I also understand from your emails that my 3rd issue is on it's way. I have not received coffee for that issue either.”
“Lovely magazine, beautiful photographs, interesting articles. I just don't understand the photographs on the cover, they are not referred too in the magazine (or I missed it completely).”
“I am a new reader having received only 3 editions so far. Number 27, “Space, Toast, and Coffee” is my favorite by far. As the subtitle suggests the topics are massively diverse. They are also very visual. Even without pictures, this would be a visually stimulating publication. Every article has descriptions or word pictures that do a wonderful job painting themselves on the imagination. As with any publication, not every article was of great interest to me but I still read most if not all of every article. I do have a very minor nitpick. To me, many of the articles sound like they were written by the same person. I’m not sure if this is due to strong editorial guidelines or maybe an accepted writing style but it seems odd that all writers sound very similar.”
“As usual Standart was a good read. The reason for a four star review was that in this edition there were some articles which were only peripherally related to coffee. it felt like they were filling space.”
