PLEASE DO NOT BUY OFF THIS COMPANY Their fitter failed to turn up to fit a log cabin then became unresponsive. Their alternative wanted to charge £350 more. There are similar reviews on several review sites. Please don't get fooled by these people.

ABSOLUTE SCAM COMPANY. DO NOT USE. I bought a greenhouse two months ago costing over £1,093. When it arrived there were more than 20 items damaged or missing. Pieces were bent and wouldn't fit in place. The fitter would not fit the greenhouse when he arrived as soon as he saw it was from Summer Garden Buildings. He said their items are really poor quality and he has had many bad experiences of their products. The greenhouse has 27 leaks and there were no pre drilled holes. Every item was either damaged or would not fit. There were even parts from another greenhouse in the packaging. I am still waiting for a refund, after 2 months. All the bad reviews are totally true. I have had to write off the £1093.00. There customer service is absolutely shocking also. They don't return your call and constantly fob you off just so they don't have to give you your money back. This is the worst service and worst product I have ever experienced. They have totally ruined our summer. DO NOT USE. THEY ARE A SCAM COMPANY.

WHAT EVER YOU DO DON’T USE THIS COMPANY!!!! This is an update as the 1st bad review I put on was mild compared to the recent experience with them. They sent through damaged and faulty bin storage. Broken bits and rotten wood which you can see in the pics I have attached. Their solution to the broken and faulty part was not to send the panel replacement but to send me the slats. This would mean me almost taking a whole side of it apart to fix it. I asked for replacement panels, but I had to chase. I’m over 3 weeks in and they still haven’t dealt with it. They take your money quickly but when you have a problem they take ages to get back if at all! I chased them loads calling and emailing and today was told that as I had emailed many times it wasn’t helpful and slowed them down!!! I have an answer to that… deal with the problem. Hilariously he then agreed he would have done the same if it were him?! So apparently the first feedback I gave here was seen by the boss and the guy that occasionally got back to me said that because I wrote this it had put them off dealing with the issue! The words used were “if we have a review that’s useless, we tend to be pretty useless.” They said they would look at it again if I’d agree to take my honest review off here. That shows exactly who you are dealing with. I have proof of these conversations. The guy then got back to me today and they decided again that they would send just the slats. So that’s me repairing their faults. When I said I wasn’t willing to spend my time repairing their faults departing words were and I quote…. “I said I’d ring, sorry it wasn’t with better or appropriate news but HEY HO”. I agree with his use of the word “appropriate”! When I said I’d complain to trading standards he said it wasn’t relevant. I went on to say ‘perhaps the consumer act’ he said it was probably extinct? I told him I would update this or suggested perhaps his boss (who I was told was John) would like to speak to me? Apparently he’s the one who decides the policy but gets others to act it. I’ve spent a fair amount of my hard-earned money with these people and they have been one of the worst companies I have ever come across. PLEASE, WHAT EVER YOU DO SPEND YOUR MONEY WITH ANOTHER COMPANY. THERE ARE LOADS OUT THERE. THEY CANNOT BE WORSE THAN THIS ONE! READ THE OTHER ROTTEN REVIEWS THEY’VE HAD. I WISH I HAD TOO. I may seek legal advice as I feel so strongly about the rotten products and service I have received! What company supplies faulty and damaged goods and expects you to spend your time fixing it for them???

Really dissapointed with them. I bought a greenhouse and the glass arrived tightly packed in a box. One of the panes exploded in my hands when I took it out of the box. It must have been damaged when packed or during delivery. I received no sympathy or a replacement as they claimed that their insurance wouldn't cover it.

How I wish I had read the reviews before ordering from this company. I have experienced abysmal customer service and I suspect they knew that the product they sold me was not a good one. Let me mention first two things the company got right. When I told them a part was missing, they sent another. When I said I wanted to return the product, they agreed to this. However, Hermes chucked the return cardboard package over the gate late on a Saturday afternoon (while claiming to have left it with a neighbour). Hermes undertake to make three attempts at delivery and clearly were negligent in what they did. It rained. Summergarden Buildings (SGB) let me know that they had found a soggy mess of carboard. However, it took repeated emails to extract from them where the package was found and even then specific questions I asked were ignored. I still don’t know three weeks after first asking if I will get a partial refund. At the very least, SGB can use my returned parts for spares. The rain would not have damaged the contents so it might still be sold. However, I still don’t know whether they insist on writing it off. If they put this is writing, I can claim against Hermes. I have not got any email from an SGB person who gives more than a first name. This makes it less convincing for dealing with Hermes or taking Hermes to court. Like others on Trustpilot, I have found SBG can take its time answering emails or just ignores them altogether. Re the product I bought, it was a “Growhouse 381”, an aluminium and polycarbonate cupboard like mini-greenhouse. For over two months the SGB website has been offering “repackaged” versions of this, which suggests a high rate of returns. I find this understandable as I gave up on assembling the kit. The instructions are very basic. When I assembled the first part, the back I think, one of the notches appeared to be in the wrong place. I was not prepared to spend several more hours guessing what to do and then find some pieces are faulty. I have happily assembled many household items and, more recently, a wood and polycarbonate mini-greenhouse. The latter I bought after sending back the SGB kit. I assembled the wooden one in less than an hour.

Absolute shambles of a company. bought a bin shed which is poor quality and pieces broke whilst assembling or didn't line up correctly. Sent back immediately and took over a month to get any information from them on a refund only to discover they were deducting money. No acceptance of liability or evidence of customer service.

Ordered gazebo and bench set in March, received gazebo but despite 3 calls to the company I still have no bench set. They can’t even tell me when I will receive it or if I will receive it. They show no urgency or desire to resolve the issue. Truly dreadful service and I advise anyone thinking of buying from this outfit.....Don’t!

1 word…. AVOID! Purchased my cabin at the end of June. I also ordered floor insulation & 50mm roof insulation as additional extras. We originally had a delivery date of end July… which I put back a couple of weeks due to delays in the base and a holiday booked. We was advised 2 men in 2 days to Build…. Booked 2 days from work in order to complete in them 2 days….. Woke to a text that the cabin would be delivered between 11 & 12 perfect. Got a call about 9 to say they was outside… good job other half was home as the cabin arrived in individual logs and had to be lifted from the lorry to the garden (says that it comes wrapped and ready to crane off!). There was 7 broken pieces which the driver took pictures off and sent to his office… was advised they would be sent out by courier “they never arrived” we did however have a few extra so managed. Asked driver Where was the insulation…. Oh we don’t deliver that, that comes from somewhere else! Contacted Summer garden buildings and asked where the insulation was… she said she would chase and let us know. Let the build begin…. Very 1st section… 70mm nails needed…. Erm no 70mm nails included!!!! 2 hours later I called and she said she was waiting on an email response! I asked where it came from and why she couldn’t pick up the phone to ask…. An excuse was made! Following morning sent an email to advise we was a hinge short…. (Never did receive the hinge!) called them again after 10am to asked regarding the insulation and she was still waiting for that email! I wonder if she ever got that reply! I also mentioned the hinge and was told to put that in the email.. which I already had & also the instructions were damaged and could they email new ones over. In the meantime I thought I would contact my local Travis to see if they had any delivery’s for me “yes a delivery for the following day” great… 3 hours later I called to chase the instructions to which I was told they couldn’t find them on the system and that they had emailed Shires for a new copy! I asked why she can’t pick up the phone… no had to be email!! So I put the phone down and contacted Shires direct… spoke to a very helpful lady Charlotte (she could teach the summer gardens people some customer service skills!) who within 2 minutes I had the instructions in my inbox… fantastic. So the following day (managed to get a 3rd day off work) the insulation was delivered…. No fixings included… Driver said just had insulation on order… so back on the phone to the not so helpful lady at summer garden buildings to ask regarding the the fixings… will put in the post!! So this 2 day 2 men to build is utter rubbish! It came to the roof…. Insulation should go on the roof under the felt however there wasn’t even enough felt to cover the amount it tells you in the instructions WITHOUT the insulation let alone with it! So we had to then purchase an additional roll of felt…. Day 7 arrived the box of fixings and instructions for the roof insulation…. WHERE WAS THE INSTRUCTIONS AND FIXING FOR THE FLOOR INSULATION??? Yep we purchased that too from you!! Another expense for us to be able to install the floor insulation!! All in all it’s a cute little cabin but DO NOT purchase via Summer Garden Buildings… the customer service is awful and sorry to say I don’t think they could “arrange a P*** up in a brewery” we never received the missing hinge or the replacement damaged boards or the floor insulation fixings/ instructions and we are 5 weeks on…. I will definitely not be recommending Summer Garden Buildings in the future!!

I've been waiting a year for the sales department to return my calls and give a refund for a wooden storage bench that was faulty. They even denied that they had sold me the product. Poor girl who answers the phone on their behalf . Please contact me asap Unbelievably atrociously bad service.

AVOID THIS COMPANY . I purchased a bike shelter. The lock on it was flimsy, assembly of the product was complicated and instructions unclear. It arrived 1 day late and the order was incomplete (the base arrived 2 days late). This was very inconvenient as I had booked a handyman to assemble it. Customer Service was dreadful - Andy ( when i could get through - the phone was mostly engaged and goes to answer phoen at 3pm) promised me an update whch never came. I had to deal with the delivery firm direct (Tuffnels) who were better.

Absolute crooks. Dreadful product and dreadful customer care. Bought 2 large triple bin shelters that lasted a week before falling to pieces. Not built to withstand British weather. Terrible customer service. Absolute no acceptance of liability. Avoid at all cost.

Appalling Customer Service My experience of this company has been a sad and sorry tale, one that has lasted months with countless emails and phone calls most being left unanswered and ourselves being out of pocket after being shipped a "free" gift that we neither wanted and asked was not sent. We ordered a summer garden building and paid the deposit leaving it to them to make and arrange the delivery only to find out that it was delayed, then delayed further and further. We were told different stories of it been constructed, not started, ready for delivery, be on the next delivery, and then back to not being started. We sadly decided that we would have to cancel the order - at that point suddenly all became available with "free" gifts being dispatched, although we requested that they were not dispatched. After sending the "free" gift they charged us for these so we requested that these be collected - they agreed to this at their own expense however after several months of emailing and calling, almost daily at one stage, they asked us to return it to us. We did and are still awaiting the refund of the cost of the courier. I have left writing this review to await if they would respond to my last messages and do the right thing however haven't. Please do think twice about using this company

Hi, Bought a 8x6 greenhouse from this company missing parts, only got them after I told them I was going to do a charge back , instructions are terrible it’s like reading Chinese, no help line they don’t answer, avoid at all cost

Shed delivery severely delayed (5 months after ordering), including one delivery date when the just didn't show up, then the shed they eventually did deliver was not the correct model (they sent one with the door on the wrong end of the building) and it was poor quality with a lot of wood splintering and some of the nails not securing the pieced properly. I was left significantly out of pocket for paying workmen to be around to prepare the base and build the shed (twice due to no show first time round) and their customer service staff took weeks to respond to my email then refused to do anything about it or give a partial refund. Do not use! Will be complaining to Trading Standards.

After buying my greenhouse, the affiliated installers no longer work for summer garden buildings. When I asked for a refund, no chance! The additional storage I also bought is cheaper in B&Q. Stay well clear if I were you.

This would be 0 stars if there was the option. The gazebo I purchased is substandard and not fit for purpose. Photos were sent in June, heard nothing for 8 weeks. Emails ignored when the phone lines were off, sent more photos of the damage 5weeks ago, called every week to be told Paul will call me back as he is never at his desk and I am still waiting. AVOID THIS COMPANY there is absolutely no customer service.

Took 20 weeks to be delivered, they don't reply to emails, their suppliers delivered the wrong Gazebo (same footprint) and it included the wrong roof parts/no ridge felts. My installers have made the Gazebo look great but it took an extra day at my expense.
