So far, so good. Winter will be the test, when the unit will be sending hot water to the HVAC air handler that heats the small apartment in which it is installed.

Hi Charles, thank you for your review. This was actually a company of review of our online stores performance as far as your experience shopping with us, it looks like you also left a product review, which is the same review. That said we need to let people reading this know the unit you bought the RTGH-84DLN-2 is a standards tankless water heater for domestic hot water only. It is not a boiler, and it is not a combi tankless water heater boiler. It is not made to provide hydronic radiant heat. Doing so voids the warranty. It is for showers, baths, sinks and so on only. There are combination tankless water heater boilers that provide both domestic hot water and radiant heat. These units from Rheem start RCBH and can be found in the Combi Water Heater Boilers section of our website. Standard tankless water heaters are not boilers, and they are not made or warrantied to be boilers.

Glad you like your unit, received it quickly and have it working. I am curious though, what could have been better? I ask because you only rated us 4 stars. What could we have done to have earned a 5-star review?

The tankless water heater we bought is great, but the recirculating pump we got with it was unnecessary. I wish we were given a little more information about how little we would need it when we called to talk to someone about it. Now it's been installed for a couple of months and I have only used it once, and that was just to test it out. It works, but we haven't needed it at all. The tankless water heater does a great job without its help.

Recirculation pumps are an accessory that recirculates water through the system so you do not have to wait for hot water. They are nice, especially for people with showers and things a bit away from their water heater, and in the colder months, but they are by no means a requirement. Anyone who calls and asks us about recirculation pumps prior to their purchase would be told exactly that. I am glad to hear you are enjoying your tankless water heater and the pump is working well when you have activated it. I am sure you will get more use out of as it gets cooler out, and wish you would have called and spoke with us prior to your purchase.

WE ORDERED A HEATER THAT WAS OUT OF STOCK, SO IT WAS NOT SHIPPED AS PROMISED . RICHARD EMAILED ME WITH A NICE NOTE TO TELL ME THE HEATER WAS NOT COMING. WE REORDERED WHEN THE UNIT WAS BACK IN STOCK AND GOT THE UNIT QUICKLY. HEATER HAS BEEN PREFORMING WELL.

This thing is awesome....endless hot water is a necessity with two teenage girls. I've had it for 10 years and it still keeps working, however I bought a second just in case (and because there is a $300 Federal tax credit applicable for 2021). For those new to this, you will need to also buy valves for input and output so that you can flush the unit to remove any mineral buildup. You will also need a cheap pump (total prob an additional $150). Need to run white vinegar through the unit about twice a year to remove mineral buildup...takes about an hour. The only complaint here that prevents 5 stars is that the unit will flash a digital code that means you need to flush/clean the unit....but Rheem doesn't give consumers access to clear the code. They want you to spend money on Rheem maintenance I suppose. There is a way to do it but you have to remove the cover and press some buttons in the right way on the circuit panel. The flash code is an annoyance that never goes away if you don't clear it but the unit will still operate fine. In hindsight, I would check and see if the manufacturer provides codes AND a way to clear them from the digital panel without having to open the unit.

Thank you for your review and your business. It sounds like you are saying the unit you have had for 10 years, not the new unit you bought from us, you have had some trouble clearing the code after it has been descaled? I am sorry about that, if that is the case. First and most importantly that will not be an issue with the new unit. The new unit you recently bought will let you know when scale is starting to build up, but once flushed that will no longer flash. Also, there is no such thing as spending money on Rheem maintenance. Rheem technical support is free for anyone that owns a Rheem water heater. You would call technical support at 1-800-432-8373, give them the serial # of the unit, and even if it is no longer under warranty, they will assist you and provide technical support. However, if the unit needed to be flushed or something like that, and the owner did not want to do it, the owner would have to hire their own plumber. There is no such as thing as a Rheem installer, or plumber. Rheem is a manufacture only. They do not work with any plumbers or installers directly when it comes to tankless water heaters.

Great water heater and no shortage of hot water. Mounting on an outside wall does give risk of damage from cold weather happening at the same time as a power outage. It would be good to see a battery backup system capable of protecting from freezing for several hours.

Water heater works perfect! The only issue was the box came banged up and the front cover of the heater was dented up. They do warn about this problem, but it seems fishy, I have ordered about 20 of these same heaters from another company and shipped with UPS ground and never had one with a dented cover until I ordered from this company, so if you want one with a perfect cover, do not order here. The price was great and the heater works great.

We ship with UPS flex partial insurance, so all the units and packaging are inspected by UPS prior to them shipping. The units weight between 60 and 90 lbs and their covers are just a thin piece of stainless steel, so if they get dropped or hit with a dolly they will get it a dent. If the damage is significant or would impact installation the units are fully insured. We also have replacement covers available, they just not have the Rheem sticker on them, and customers that are reselling the unit or if it is going in a showroom or something can have us double box and pad the unit's for an extra $15.

The ladies I spoke with were very helpful. My problem may be rare since my plumber did not install an exhaust pipe drain. When I purchased the burner core there were no instruction to put a small piece from the old one to the new one. This caused me to purchase a whole new unit since we had no hot water for two weeks. Since then I spoke to you several more times and I repaired the old one. You do have a male rep that needs people interface training.

I am sorry to hear you had some issues with a unit due to incorrect installation, and that there were not instructions that came with the replacement part. I am glad to hear you now have a working replacement, and sounds like you fixed the old one as well, which is great. However, this review seems to be more for Rheem the manufacture than about us, our store and your experience with us. That said, your review is important information for people to know, but I want to make sure people are aware that we are just an online store, and not Rheem. We do not provide technical support, we do not send replacement parts and never had conversations with you. We received your order on Saturday January 16th 2021 for the RTG-95DVLN-1. The unit was shipped that Monday the 18th, and was delivered VIA UPS ground on Friday January 22nd. Besides the order confirmation email, and the email we sent Monday the 18th with the UPS tracking # and delivery date we had no other communication. We are the online store that you bought the replacement unit from, not Rheem. Again, your review is important for people, but I do want to make sure people understand we are not the manufacture, and do not provide customer support in regards to warrant claims, installation issues and so on. That is done through Rheem directly. And they are for the most part great. Their customer service team is located here in the US. In Atlanta GA, and they are professional service technicians. I am sorry to hear you had a not so great of an experience with one of their reps, but am glad to hear you had a good experience with others, and that you were able to get it replaced and fixed!

It works well overall. The only thing is that when 2 showers or faucet is being used, water does run cold for awhile

Easy installation, does its job. 4 stars because it does not come with relief valve, had to go buy one separate.

The install was smooth and the 160,000 BTU has more than met our needs for hot water. Using 3-4 appliances/sinks/showers at one time. We have been happy with it and would recommend it for 4-5 bedroom homes.

Good product. 50% reduction in gas bill. Difficult to program. Horrible instructions (had to call for support).

Hello Alexander, I am glad to hear you like the unit and are seeing such a reduction in your gas bill! I am sorry you found the unit's built in recirculation pump difficult to program. Most installers know how to do that, but for your average home owner you are right they may need to contact Rheem technical support for assistance, but is still easy enough for anyone to do with their help, and we have heard from many of customer's that bought one these units that are not installers, and were able to program their unit's recircualtion by fallowing the instructions. I also hope than anyone reading this understand this only pertains to the RTGH-RH units with built in recirculation pumps. The RTG and RTGH units without built in re circulation pumps have nothing to program, and all come with pre-wired controllers from Rheem making the installation even easier.
