“I submitted all the info needed for my claim and was quoted 5 - 6 weeks to hear back from them. This was on 4th February and we're now at 13th May and I haven't had a pay out or any contact. I'm worried they've claimed my money and kept it for themselves.”

Hi Nathan, I've reviewed your case file and I can see that you received a good sized refund of which our fee was only a small percentage (15% + VAT as agreed). I can assure you that there is much more involved than just sitting at a desk to calculate your money especially as we worked all 4 tax years for you and pushed to get your refund in time for the Xmas period. Unfortunately after reading your notes there is no indication that you were in any way unhappy with the service you received, all our fee's are stated up front and clearly shown in the claim pack that includes the contract that's signed and dated by our clients before we can proceed with the claim. We have recently undergone a review and our rates are very competitive within our industry. I'm unsure if your issue is related to the fact that you had to pay (this is a professional, not a free service after all) or that perhaps you underestimate the work involved in dealing with your case? “I only wanted to see if I could claim my petrol back I didn't ask for a tax refund as I wasn't aware I was eligible for one. I was a bit confused with the paperwork sent me, I had 3 different lots with 3 different figures on which I thought I was receiving the amount on each but I never. I called the office and they explained it to me but I also wasn't aware I would be charged a fee out of my tax rebate when I never actually asked for it in the first place. If I was going to be charged I would have done it myself..! Also I'm still waiting for my P60's which have not been returned to me yet..! Overall I think there wasn't much communication or explanation of the handling of my case seeing as I never asked for it in the first place..!”

Hi Cheryl, Many thanks for your feedback, all client responses are very important to us. We make sure that all our clients understand about the service they are getting and the costs involved by including that information in our claim packs that need to be returned with the authorisation to act as your tax agent before we can proceed with the rebate process. In addition all our tax specialists are trained to mention the fee during the first phone call to make sure its covered verbally as well. By returning the signed agreement forms to us we take that as authorisation to process your claim on your behalf.
