Do NOT get car insurance with TescoBank. Its like pulling teeth trying to get them to help you with anything. Make your life easier and go with someone else. I've had far better assistance/customer service from other providers. They cause unnecessary stress.

ive had a tesco card for 13 years and over that time my business expenses thru it have exceeded £740,000. I always pay in full and on time. I was 6 days late last month and have been charged £70 interest and £12 late payment fee. Tesco will not refund this. So I will never ever purchase anything from Tesco ever again and will make sure that everyone who asks is aware of this experience. This is a greedy immoral organisation and I will make it my business to undermine it at every opportunity.

Almost an hour on hold the service is appalling , seriously need to train your staff in customer service because they clearly do not have a clue. Absolute joke

Appalling! Have made 4 calls in the last 3 hours to report card stolen, expecting to speak to a person rather than a machine. The last call had me on hold for 54 minutes before I put the phone down. Shame on you Tesco. You don't deserve the business!

I have had to instigate a £3064 charge back with Tesco Bank against a tour operator that cancelled my holiday and refused a refund. Tesco make their customers wait a minimum of 6 weeks before dealing with such claims and in the meantime will still charge interest if a customer cannot pay off their credit card bill in full during the Covid Crisis and being unemployed. This is despite the delay being caused directly by Tesco themselves. (I called after 4 weeks out of desperation and Tesco still have no intention of looking at my claim until the full 6 weeks has passed). Other banks such as Santander and Barclays take between 3 to 7 days to refund such claims, suggesting that Tesco are either not up to the job and a poor excuse for a bank or that they are simply capitalising on their customers misfortune by withholding their money, just like the other companies out there with poor business practices who are taking advantage. So the moral of this story is to absolutely not use a Tesco credit card for major purchases and instead use a proper, full service bank/credit card provider that can protect your interests in a timely manner. Tesco are a disgrace to the banking profession and should go back to purely providing groceries.

As someone who does not use Tesco bank I find it terrible. I am Dutch and made a trade deal with someone who lives in England, we used Tesco bank transfer; as soon as I sent the Tracking code I would get my money. However they take ages to reply my emails and when they do they say that my money will take several days to be credited ''because of the many orders they process''. Terrible customer service and terrible waiting times. I should've looked here before agreeing to use Tesco bank. My advice: If you can, do not use this bank's services at any time.

Thoroughly disappointed by our experience with Tesco car insurance. We were driven into while parked in a car park by a young driver who just drove off, despite having crunched into our car so hard that various people in the car park noticed it. Despite having two independent witnesses and CCTV from the store car park showing the accident and whose fault it clearly was, it has taken over five months for Tesco to resolve this claim - and we have had to chase them constantly and do all the work. While they were doing nothing to resolve our case (which the driver’s insurers were - unbelievably - denying responsibility for), Tesco tried to make us pay the excess to get the repair work done to our car at our expense. Even worse, they told us we’d lose our longstanding no-claims bonus if we didn’t and our policy would cost more in the future too!! It wasn’t until the Police finally charged the driver with driving away from the scene of an accident and the other driver’s insurer caved in and admited responsibility that Tesco finally agreed to get the work done at their expense. We’ve been left incredulous at their poor service and asking ourselves what on earth we paid our premiums for. If they don’t even fight for their customers’ rights when there are witnesses and CCTV, what hope is there if someone ploughs into you without those things? I will never use Tesco Insurance again for anything. You pay them, then end up doing all the work yourself, while they threaten you with losing your no-claims bonus for an accident that it’s obvious was not your fault. Unbelievable.

I was a member of Tesco Black Box car insurance for a duration of two years. On the 25th of March 2022, I was involved in a vehicular accident, following which I was provided with a replacement vehicle by Enterprise Rent a Car, facilitated through my Tesco Black Box insurance policy. My own vehicle was deemed a total loss, and subsequently, Tesco Insurance disbursed a payout to facilitate a replacement vehicle. This pay-out was subject to a £350 deduction as an excess, with a commitment from Tesco Insurance to reimburse this amount once I was determined to be not at fault. Upon procuring a new vehicle, I chose to retain my insurance coverage with Tesco, incurring an additional £90 fee for the change in the insured vehicle. I was assured that this fee would be reimbursed upon a determination of non-fault status. Furthermore, Tesco Insurance imposed an additional premium of £317 on top of the pre-existing insurance costs for my previous vehicle. Despite my persistent attempts to engage with Tesco Black Box insurance, documented through a series of interactions on 17.05.22, 24.06.22, 28.06.22, 30.06.22, and 02.09.22, no substantive updates were provided regarding the payment from the third party insurance. Subsequently, Tesco Insurance directed me to contact the third-party insurer independently to secure the return of the excess amount. I duly contacted the third-party insurance provider and successfully reclaimed my excess. Nonetheless, Tesco continued to levy a premium of £998.64 for my insurance coverage, even after my policy was renewed on 01.11.12. This was contingent on their assurance that the premium would be reimbursed once a non-fault determination was established. Over the course of more than a year, I maintained regular contact with Tesco Insurance, seeking reimbursement for the expenses. No progress was made in resolving my claim, and Tesco consistently declined to provide the promised reimbursement. Frustrated with the lack of resolution, I opted to terminate my insurance policy with Tesco Insurance on 15.10.23. To my surprise, this action incurred an £80 cancellation fee, and an additional £50 charge for failing to return the black box device, even though such an option had not been presented. Subsequently, I received an email from Tesco Insurance on an unspecified date, confirming the receipt of their payout from the third-party insurer. They also affirmed my non-fault status in the accident and assured the removal of any claims affecting my no-claim discount. Subsequently, I initiated contact with Tesco to request the reimbursement of the outstanding sums. Multiple formal complaints were lodged with Tesco Insurance through email and live chat, all of which have been meticulously documented. In light of the absence of responses from Tesco, I sought legal counsel to pursue the resolution of this matter. On 17.10.23, I received correspondence from Enterprise Rent a Car, stating that they have not received the payment they were due from the third-party insurer, adding to the complexity of the situation. The Enterprise Act 2016 made it an implied term of every insurance contract (taken out since 4 May 2017) that the insurer must pay any sums due in respect of an insurance claim within a “reasonable time”. 1 year and 7 months is not reasonable

What can I say absolutely disgraceful company, got a 0% transfer balance card had it for around 12 months paid every payment early!!! one month never got my bill reminder off tesco app so was a few days late on which I paid double payment and what do you know they cancelled my 0% interest????? in this current financial crisis I was late as there system never sent me my statement! no common sense they never admited there statement never got sent also never informed me via there app or email but sent letters that took 2 weeks to get to me for the extra interest,, prior to that I paid every payment early for all the other months, i just transferred my balance to another provider and got a better deal, also i went to cancel my card but had to print a form off there site fill it in then scan it and email it to them on which 3 days gone but no reply?? I have had cards i have had in the past were i have simply cancelled on the app and within a day its all done it does show how backward this organisation is, tesco bank are not a good organisation and there is a lot better out there i would say they are very underhanded in the way they do things. Be careful with them.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! My wife was insured through Tesco. Had a fender bender, new bumper and bonnet needed. No structural damage, confirmed by mechanic. Tesco's took almost 2 weeks to assess the damage, during which she was told twice it would be cat c and could go ahead with repairs. Got repairs done and an MOT to prove roadworthiness only to be told it was cat b and is considered unroadworthy, all from some photos.... refusing to reassess, Customer service appalling. We've spent a fortune on cabs to get to work whilst waiting for a response, God knows how many phonecalls, gone ahead with repairs as agreed on 2 calls and now we're being told it's unroadworthy and we cannot drive it. DO NOT INSURE WITH TESCO!!!
