I hold bank and credit card accounts with 2 main UK high street banks, and Tesco. Without doubt, over time, my experience is that Tesco is the poorest with regard to correct account presentation and also App access to my accounts. Today, for a reason the Tesco assistant is unable to explain, I (and it was clear I was not alone) am unable to access my accounts via the Tesco banking App on my iPad, and he was unable to say when, if at all, I would be able to in the future. I find shopping in Tesco a good experience, but it’s a pity their supporting Banking services let them down so badly by comparison.

If you pay extra for a protected No Claims Bonus you may find that if you make 2 claims within 3 years, even if the 2nd claim isn't your fault, you COMPLETELY lose your NCB.

Car insurance renewal is higher than previous year price...without any claims and insurance price is high. And even customer service also don’t know the reason

I tried to open a 1yr fixed savings account online with Tesco bank (April 2019) Much of the forms were already pre-filled as i was logged in to my existing Tesco bank account at the time (good) I reached the end of the process and instead of getting the account details so I can transfer in the money as I was expecting, I got a cryptic message that for 'my own safety' more checks need to be made and I will be contacted by phone or letter within 5 days ??? I was confused Im not borrowing money, the account has no credit facility, they already have all my details - Ive been a customer over 5yrs. I have a large sum in another savings account with them A few days prior I opened a new instant access savings account with another bank Ive never dealt with before. That account went live immediatly (even though that wasnt even a weekday) I contacted Tesco bank facebook support to try to get some answers, they told me to ring the bank I rang the bank and they told me there is no way for them to know what the problem was, as the underwritters determine if further checks need to be made with an application. They wouldnt even take my reference number to look it up, I was told there was no point. So Im left totally in the dark about what is going on and Tesco seem to be in the dark also... Why do checks need to be made for opening a savings account for an existing customer? Sorry Tesco, but this seems bonkers to me Im starting to suspect that their fixed savers are run by someone else and are crudely tagged on to their website and Tesco actually has no idea about them at all and they arent really tied to your existing accounts. On the first page of the forms you have to choose between funding the account via a cheque or another bank, there is no option to fund it from another Tesco account - which is what I intended to do I thought already being a Tesco Bank customer would make it easier to setup an account, I discounted 2 higher paying accounts just because I thought the process would be easier and quicker with Tesco - how wrong I was... My government bond matures today and I will now go and try to setup a 1yr fixed savings account elsewhere, which ever account goes live first gets my money. My guess is that it wont be Tesco

Had Tesco bank account for a few years. The only problems I had was that no one else could pay a cheque into my account for me. I had to travel the 15 miles to the nearest store to do banking. I have a store 1/2 mile away but they don’t do banking! Also I had a problem using my debit card at a pay at the pump petrol station. It wouldn’t accept my card. When I phoned Tescos they said I had the wrong card for that and could not be used at pay at the pump petrol station. Ridiculous! When on holiday in Porthmadog north wales, I went to Tescos pay at the pump petrol station. I used my Tescos debit card, at a tescos petrol station, with my Tescos colleague card (yes I work for Tescos!) and it still wouldn’t allow me to fill up. Sorry Tescos bank, your loss. I’ve now moved to first direct for proper service

Generally I find the online banking system simple and clear enough to get round. But what I can't fathom is why do I need to verify each new device??!!! They need to send a "varification code" to my registered number... Great, NOT!!! The reason I am using a different device is because I don't have my registered device with me you morons! I have 3 pieces of personal login security already so drop the new varification bullshit please. God help anyone who has their mobile stolen while away on holiday (for example) because they won't be able to use Internet banking until they get the phone/number replaced to receive the varifiction code to use a different device. I have 4 other Internet banking accounts from other banks and none have this pointless system and guess what.... I freely log in with different devices and I've never had a fraud problem with their simple 3 security info set up. Actually tempted to shut my account now, I don't want to end up having my wallet/phone stolen from a hotel while abroad because...... 1, I can't use my friends/family device to log in to MY account to check balance for stolen money etc or order new bank card from them. 2, I can't transfer my money into their account to withdraw from cash machine! Yes, you could call the customer services team, but that's gonna be expensive from abroad and have you actually tried speakin to tesco over the phone??? If not, just keep reading down the reviews and that'll give you an idea.

I had an accident (not at fault) and took 20 months to resolve! refused to give me my no cliams while the claim was going threw then when it went threw held the excess and wouldn't give it back then they cancelled my insurance without telling me for some reason (wouldn't actually give me one apart from "oh it must not have been renewed") then charged me £200 more than the previous year! then i Went to add my spouse to my policy and was over £300 more expensive than the cheapest on compare the market..... very quick to take money not so quick to give it back or resolve anything get a grip

There are good points about the Tesco Loan system, but Tesco fails on a very important one. I must complete my end of year accounts for HMRC and for this I must produce evidence of all financial transactions for the last year. I bank online with Tesco and am supposed to be able to 'manage' my account with them. However, I am unable to pull up a loan statement covering the last financial year online. Apparently this is something which must be done by someone at the bank and I must then endeavour to find a window of time within a 48 hour or a 24 hour period (depending on who I talk there) when I can 'catch' sight of my statement online and print it out for the tax man. On two occasions I have contacted Tesco and made time available for this and on both occasions a statement has not appeared online. Not only has this wasted my time, but it has caused no end of frustration at a very busy time of year. Why are we not considered grown up enough to manage our own accounts to the point where a simple statement can be requested electronically and it be available within minutes? I now have to telephone Tesco again and ask them, again, for something that could have been in the hands of my accountant yesterday.

Tesco Bank closed my internet savings account without any notice, communication (letter, email, call) and in clear violation of their published terms and conditions. Reason? Copy of my signature wasn't received when the account was opened 3 months ago. Problem is I do have a current account with them and they do have my signature. left hand, right hand problem?
