Just got it back. And still haveing a communication problem. This is a shop. All the powers and grounds have been tested. A different ecu was put into the mini and we had communication. So I sent it off. And they "fixed" it and I still have no communication with either of our snap on scanners. I just got back from vacation and have not been able to call them fir support. I will update depending on talking to them

You didn’t fix it and I had to take it to the dealership. I have requested a refund from them but nothing.

Sent off my old key, ecm, and cas. When I got them back nothing was done. All you did was cut a new key that doesn't work. Nice job for $400.

Right now I havew to rate the repair as poor for today, Feb 3, I am returning my repair #9961 under the original warranty as all indications of the continuing issues point to the original repair as being incomplete and insufficient.

I was expecting a new unit, but the one I received appears to be refurbished. Currently, the ECU I received is not performing properly. My windshield wipers are now working, but It has introduced new problems that I did not have with my original unit.

Sent a cpc in to get rebuilt and came back but cost me another $300 to have it programed to the truck, after that it lasted about an hour and more codes and engine lights came on, talked to the dealer and they said it was the cpc again, just sent it back yesterday for warranty.

Keep in mind, The ECU pro asked for my feedback. The ECU Pro’s initial ordering and data collection is great; the only problem is the information I provided didn’t appear to make it to the techs or the techs didn’t bother to read it. I had an uncommon problem with my MINI Cooper DME (no 5 Volt reference to the knock sensor), and a P0328 DTC to go along with it. I made mention in the online form I had to fill out that you had to have multiple drive cycles and the engine had to be running for 30 minutes or so before the faults would set. The tech plugged in my DME to the test car (not fully installed, so I know they didn’t drive it), and called it good. I asked them to please check the 5VDC reference voltage output of the DME, and they would see what I was talking about. They went back and noticed if they picked up my DME when the car was running that the engine would shut off. The ECU Pro attributed this to a faulty connector on the DME (not repairable); so they cloned my DME and sent me a replacement. When I installed it, the car now has 5DE3 (DDSC control unit, encoding error); so, it looks like the ECU Pro didn’t complete all parts of the process. I emailed The ECU Pro, but I have not heard back from the techs yet on how to fix the 5DE3 DTC. On a positive note, I did appreciate the video file they sent showing the testing process. One suggestion for the ECU Pro would be to let the customers know which version of the DME software is in the DME you’re sending in and which is the current version. I know in the case of the MINI N12, 14, 16, & 18 engines that there was a DME update to turn down the sensitivity of the knock sensor. I don’t know if The ECU Pro has a license agreement with BMW to have access to the latest software, and I know that’s expensive. Still, it would be nice to know if I need a DME software update.
